    I'm french and my pain is immeasurable. This defeat will haunt me a loooong time before I move on. My frustration is immense .. I thought our time had come.
    We have an incredible team, incredible coach, incredible supporters and the world cup is in France.
    I think there are a LOT of questionable decisions made by the referee but in the end I'm impressed with the determination Bokkies put into this game.
    May the best team win the world cup and let's enjoy a little bit more these amazing final phases we have.
    Long live rugby and allez les bleus forever in my heart ❤

      100% agree! Why WR needed to announce the pools in 2020 is a mystery to me. They didn’t have the foresight to think “now wait. We have 3+ years to go to the next RWC, we need to wait to see how national squads perform!” I mean what’s the rush. It’s not like anyone is going to get cracking 3+ years ago on their pool play management. WR botched this as they botch almost everything they touch.

    • @rothnieoosthuizen3728

      @@gunputt it is my understanding that the draw will be done later in the future. Won't guarantee a "non-farce", but might help significantly.
      On the flipside, we had four incredibly competitive QFs because of the draw, arguably the best weekend of international Rugby ever. If the draw was done "correctly", chances are there would have been four boring blow outs.
      Not advocating for it, just pointing out the irony. I think most people care that the best team wins the cup in the end. For me, the fact that these matches were QFs as opposed to SFs, is much of a muchness. But yeah, if there is one team with a legitimate gripe, it is Scotland.

    • @johanviljoen4686
      @johanviljoen4686 Год назад +3

      @@gunputtI actually don't mind this draw, because if one want to win the final you still need to win three knockout games in a row. So what difference does it make when these giants clash in the knockout stages?
      The semi-finals might not be as spectacular as the quarter finals and the 2 stronger teams might rest a few key players for the final, which might result in another epic game like these quarter finals. I just think that if the NZ vs Ireland and SA vs France games were semifinals the final would be played by tired players and might not live up to what a final should be.
      I think that if NZ and SA get to the final after resting some players this weekend, we are in for another colossal match, which will make the 2023 world cup the best one ever and that all because of the lobsided draw.

    3 plays defined this game for the Boks & the mindset they had. #1 was Etzebeth lunging at the ball to save us from a 2nd try from France. #2 was Kolbe chasing down the kick. #3 although at the end but it’s when in the final minute Faf literally gave the ball back to France showed the Boks trust their defence more than their offence.

Krieg's elbow contacts? All the permissive refereeing around the scrums? Even Dupont who never complains, had a word with O'Keefe! And that is rare! 68th minute, Smith clearly is hands down bringing back the ball and the big guys never stopped doing it.
