Avalugg was HUGE for a supposedly normal Pokémon. I think SwSh and Dynamax everywhere made us forget that normal Pokémon aren’t supposed to be that huge! Part of me half expected to see Galar Particles leave his body after calming him down. But it still begs the question, why in the world is he SO HUGE?! And what other Pokémon could theoretically amp up their permanent size that way? Could Dynamax somehow become a permanent effect through other means than we explored in SwSh? Or is it something else entirely?
I believe it may have more to do with how as time went on Avalugg (as a population) used to be relatively large (like wailord), however unlike wailord they got small over time for some strange reason
@@countcooki7603 would explain the loss of the rock type, getting smaller caused them to need to get lighter, thus ejecting the rock out of their bodies trough evolution
This was epic music. This game in general has such amazing ost, with tracks like the Sinnoh Legendary Pokemon theme and the day/night themes being quite good.
Well in their defense, they're all melting away: Avalugg: 6'07" (2.0 m) and 1113.3 lbs. (505.0 kg) Hisuian forme: 4'07" (1.4m) and 578.5 lbs. (262.4 kg)
@@russellw6872 But if we’re following the canon timeline, the Hisuian population did all die out at some point, but as a new population got reestablished in Kalos, it must have dropped the Rock typing in favour of becoming pure Ice.
@@williamsapong81 Always possible that regular Avalugg still existed is Kalos at this time, and that it was only in Huisui did they change forme/died out/whatever happened. We only really know what's happening in Huisui/Sinnoh, not anywhere else for this time period.

I think difficulty of the nobles change depending on your playstyle. For the balm spammers, electrode would be the worst nightmare since it does not give you time to aim and throw. For me, who would keep dodging and throw balms after the pokemon battle, finished electrode in 1st try, But took many tries in arcanine battle. That fire spin on the middle is such an ass. Avalugg was difficult too, since the icicle spam was faster than the recovery of tumbling. And hint only tells how to dodge ice beam and nothing about icicles, it was frustrating on my part.
Yeah electrode was definitely hardest for me, it took me two tries. The rest only took one and avalugg was easier than arcanine and electrode personally
Electrode ONLY took me two tries because I didn’t restart when I died, which I still feel guilty about tbh. It feels like cheating. :/ But yeah! I agree, and it’s honestly really cool.
Is it just me but Arcanine and Avalugg we're the hardest fights out of all of them? Arcanine shoots a weird fire ring that doesn't go away until a period of time and if your trapped, it's hard to dodge out his way. Avalugg was a bit less hard but it was still challenging to throw balms while dodging his ice balls and spears.
@@dappershinx9234 the thing is, when he place the fire in the middle, and uses the orb move that covers the entire stage and *he's on the opposite platform* shit just ends right then and there
What makes this music so amazing to me is how the entire time you're throwing balms the melody is rising and rising, building up to something then when you actually enter battle the melody settles into the remix of the main battle theme. So satisfying to my years
These fights were the most epic fights that Gamefreak has ever produced. From the intro all the way to the end of the fight, I felt like I was in mortal danger. THIS is how you craft a boss battle.

Preach,Dear God,That fight is hard. Origin Dialga and Palkia are super easy, since the attacks are easily telegraphed and they stay in One Spot, making it way too easy to hit them with balms
That transition moment I feel is what sells the whole experience. Having it happen as you hit the Noble to initiate the battle, especially when it happens with Lord Avalugg, it gives me goosebumps on goosebumps.
I love how the part where you beat the absolute shit out of them has the main melody of the D/P/Pt battle theme being played on a synth, it feels like the game is trying to tell you that it's just like you used to in your past in the future, and then the Palkia/Dialga piano also gives the idea that you've dealt with worse and are also blessed by Arceus. Love that shit

Why do people struggle with Avalugg? Most of its attacks are so slow and clearly telegraphed, while the one that isn't is fine if you keep sidestepping it. I actually found this one the easiest.

I liked Liligant, when you successfully dodged her attacks it was really rewarding. Arcanine was pretty good, the opening scene was definitely one of my favourites, and I loved the mechanic of it being able to walk through the lava. Voltorb was a BITC- Seriously, it was really challenging, and it was a decent fight but God the electro-balls were SUCH a pain in the a- Anyways, Avaluggs was amazing. Seeing it for the first time was CRAZY. I knew it’d be big but I thought all the dialogue referring to that was just a “yeah its descendants were huge”. It was a really cool surprise. (Pun intended) I kind of wish we weren’t stuck on one small piece of land tho Also, I loved the fact that there genuinely felt like there were different ways you could handle the bosses. I usually tried to hit them every little chance I got, (which definitely had its pay off), but I usually ended up with some pretty close calls for wins. My little sister instead focused on dodging and then she threw balms when she beat them in battle. Anyways I just think these bosses are neat
Not a huge theory, but I believe that the nobles are ancestor of totem pokemon, plus there is that one part in the phase 2 of fighting the nobles when it sounds like the totem fight sorta 😅

@@MariOmor1 Oh, neat! I hadn’t heard that theme since I had hear Groudon and Kyogre’s themes, so I hadn’t made the connection
I mean, it's not a hidden motif, it's literally a remake of that song.
Kleavor: predictable.
Lilligant: just need well-timed dodge.
Arcanine: WATCH OUT WATCH OUT WATCH O-
Avalugg: getting Enter the Gungeon dodge-and-shoot vibes
Electrode: RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!
Avalugg is like wallmonger from enter the gunegeon
Just the absolute menacing energy I felt when Arcanine started walking on lava with those deep blaring horns
Its just a big old avalugg
I believe it may have more to do with how as time went on Avalugg (as a population) used to be relatively large (like wailord), however unlike wailord they got small over time for some strange reason
I thought it was the aura from being frenzied building up and causing it to not only get far more aggresive, but far larger too.

0:14 that timing was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT
It's Like this in the original too thats why
Man, I wish wild Avaluggs (or at least alpha Avaluggs) were even half as big as noble Avalugg
Well in their defense, they're all melting away:
Avalugg: 6'07" (2.0 m) and 1113.3 lbs. (505.0 kg)
Hisuian forme: 4'07" (1.4m) and 578.5 lbs.
@@russellw6872 Yeah, though I personally think that Wulfric's Avalugg is a descendant of Noble Avalugg. Mostly because Wulfric looks and acts too much like Gaeric not to be related to him.
Me: Man, these bosses are fun and creative. I'm having so much fun.
Noble Electrode: *and I took that personally*
But yeah! I agree, and it’s honestly really cool.
Electrode is actually really easy if you just tank the homing orbs and only avoid the Electrodes while spamming attacks.
Electrode was a nightmare when having to deal with JoyCon drift, but they got much easier once I got a new one.
Icicle spam just don’t dodge lol walk
Is it just me but Arcanine and Avalugg we're the hardest fights out of all of them? Arcanine shoots a weird fire ring that doesn't go away until a period of time and if your trapped, it's hard to dodge out his way. Avalugg was a bit less hard but it was still challenging to throw balms while dodging his ice balls and spears.
Have you seen Electrode?
@@GojiRaptor06 oh yeah I forgot about him tbh. Electrode was the in-between of Arcanine and Avalugg to me.
For me, the most difficult was electrode, the other ones are easy.
Arcanine is very easy if you camp at one end and just dodge correctly every 20 seconds or so
@@dappershinx9234 the thing is, when he place the fire in the middle, and uses the orb move that covers the entire stage and *he's on the opposite platform* shit just ends right then and there

@@seanakima50515e they restored it. As genesect was a fossil pokemon that they then upgraded with a new armored body and the cannon on its back that could be outfitted with the drives to change its typing. it was to assist N once he took over team plasma in taking over the world but N denied Genesect when they presented it to him as he said it was unnatural and had no need for it anyways. its all in its bw2 event. so if a legends game for gen 5 happened we wouldnt see genesect but maybe its orignal un augmented form instead.

I really love those little instrumentals for each Nobles right before the battle theme starts
The arcanine noble fight was awesome. the music, his badasss look while walking in the lava is freaking amazing
Who else thinks Electrode is waaaaaay harder than Origin Dialga/Palkia?
Preach,Dear God,That fight is hard. Origin Dialga and Palkia are super easy, since the attacks are easily telegraphed and they stay in One Spot, making it way too easy to hit them with balms
I struggled on it and avvalug way more then them.
Is that even a question?
Hell, Kleavor is harder than the origin mons
😢
The Electrode fight is going to filter a lot of kids 😂
I mean, if they didn't take Melli's advice to keep moving then I'm surprised they actually got to this point.
That includes me, I don't know how i managed to beat Electrode in handheld mode with Joycon drift in a sushi restaurant, but I did it.
As a kid I struggled with both electrode and avalugg stupendously
That transition moment I feel is what sells the whole experience. Having it happen as you hit the Noble to initiate the battle, especially when it happens with Lord Avalugg, it gives me goosebumps on goosebumps.

INTENSE MUSIC
so beautiful :,)
I’m excited to use it in scarlet and Violet
I love how the part where you beat the absolute shit out of them has the main melody of the D/P/Pt battle theme being played on a synth, it feels like the game is trying to tell you that it's just like you used to in your past in the future, and then the Palkia/Dialga piano also gives the idea that you've dealt with worse and are also blessed by Arceus. Love that shit
Diablos’ charges
Rajang’s slams
Teostra’s running around and danger areas
Bazelgeuse’s bombing
Ukanlos’s ice attacks
As a Monster Hunter fan, I enjoyed these fights far more than I’d have expected
YES MAN!
In all honesty, Legends Arceus gives me such heavy Monster Hunter Story vibes. I love it.
So proud of my favorite ice type Avalugg, finally made it to the big leagues
It quite literally made it to the big leagues
Shame about his typing
I like the little uses of the Arceus fight theme motif hidden in there
Spirit Battle Idea:
Kleavor: Villager (Yellow Alt) Prefers Smash attacks
Lilligant: Zero Suit Samus (Green Alt) Jumps around alot
Arcanine: Duck Hunt (Default) Impact Run with Spicy Curry
Electrode: Kirby (Yellow or Red Alt) Starts with Bomber and Keeps Raining from the Ground
Avalugg: K Rool (Blue Alt) Prefers Specials and Starts with Freezie
All Spirit Battles will have them be Giant and Start Gold
One of my favourite themes in arceus
The Noble Avalugg in the fight was just scary beyond, its literally a giant mountain! Freaking awesome
Jesus Hisuian Arcanine looks so badass when he's frenzied/noble, wish that was just how he normally looked.
His shiny looks slightly similar to it, being yellow and gray
Of all of these, I died to Electrode and Avalugg the most
Electrode will just spam bombs and make it difficult to dodge, when it’s finally defeated it feels satisfying after a tough fight
Avalugg on the other hand…
*IT TOOK ME ALMOST THE SAME AMOUNT OF TRIES AS ELECTRODE TO BEAT BEING 11 TRIES*
Why do people struggle with Avalugg? Most of its attacks are so slow and clearly telegraphed, while the one that isn't is fine if you keep sidestepping it. I actually found this one the easiest.
it took me way too long to realize the Noble Pokemon's encounter themes each have a portion of the wild Pokemon theme in it. and i love that detail so much
I like that they incorporate the legendary theme into the song.
Definitely the best-done of the "fight one big pokemon" boss types in the series.
This game turned avalugg from a laughingstock to one of the coolest Pokemon. Will definitely be using one on my next playthrough of Legends!
This theme sounds so BRUTAL. I love it.
You see, I didn't know you could literally not fall in the lava on arcanine's fight, so I was trying to dodge both him and the lava lmao
The entire song is a leitmotif. I love this so much.
Entrances of every noble Pokemon
Kleavor: cutting ma trees
Liligant: stand name: dancer
Arcanine: lava? Pfft more like a pool
Electrode: random babies, go!
Avalugg: it's a mountain, and a Pokemon!
Kleavor is more like HELIKOPTER HELIKOPTER in the introduction
Finally! I was waiting for someone to upload all these themes into one! Great job!
Honestly these bosses were really cool, only one I didn’t care dire much was Kleavor. Was kind of boring, though maybe I should try it out again.
I liked Liligant, when you successfully dodged her attacks it was really rewarding.
Arcanine was pretty good, the opening scene was definitely one of my favourites, and I loved the mechanic of it being able to walk through the lava.
Voltorb was a BITC-
Seriously, it was really challenging, and it was a decent fight but God the electro-balls were SUCH a pain in the a-
Anyways, Avaluggs was amazing. Seeing it for the first time was CRAZY. I knew it’d be big but I thought all the dialogue referring to that was just a “yeah its descendants were huge”. It was a really cool surprise. (Pun intended) I kind of wish we weren’t stuck on one small piece of land tho
Also, I loved the fact that there genuinely felt like there were different ways you could handle the bosses.
Alola is basically an untamed region compared to other places. That's why there are dominant Pokémon like the Totem.
@@RandalfElVikingo considering the tapus and what they're based on, I don't blame the people of alola for having an untamed region

@@rokkraljkolesa9317 I meant to put the tapus and not the totems but essentially iirc the tapus gods are based on the Hawaiian deities that defend nature and will wipe out humans if they mess with nature too much. The totems themselves have no base outside of just being alpha mons with special auras but they may have a connection to the tapus. We know in Arceus that there are alphas guarding sacred places so they must have a certain connection to the legendaries in a way.
@@lavadragon6444 ah, thought there was some basis in folklore for the totems
Honestly, I really dig how crazy the new Noble's Pokémon look. Who knows, maybe one day a "Pokémon, Legend Deoxys" will be a thing, and Nosepass will get a regional form. If that's so, I can't wait to see what the new Noble Probopass would look like.
Why specifically Deoxys? Deoxys don't really have much story. Also Nosepass is literally from Hoenn, it don't makes sense to have a regional form at all.

At first I thought I was already ON TOP of it.
There's a hint of Arceus at the end of the tracks which I find very intriguing.
