I thought it was one of your best videos in terms of just the pacing, style, action, etc. overall great video, especially as one that i came into with no expectations at all
Hey guys - - love your videos & I do a bit of VFX myself here and there :) perhaps I'm alone on this, but I would absolutely love a much more in depth BTS video if you guys had the time to do it! More in depth break downs of shots - - and actually what went into putting it together from a more technical side of things! anyways - keep it up - very cool video :)
I was definitely wondering how you pulled off some of those shots. Some really creative solutions there! Thanks as always for the BTS guys! Also...after five days of filming I'm willing to bet your minidrone skills are pretty great. I could easily see you guys doing an amazing aerial dogfight video...just spitballin. Cheers from the East Coast!
Oh my gosh. I can't believe you made it look simple and fun, but listening to the above video I realise how much more difficult it was for you to create. Megga thumbs up on it from me guys, because your expert skills and experience as film makers made it look so darn easy. Well done. It truly is an amazing piece of filming.
(for the benefit of those who have watched the shared video on G+ already), this behind the scenes footage is super sweet. I want a Parrot drone (have for a while actually). I bet my kids would as well. Great work guys!
Plain awesome! good classic miniatures. REALLY well done CD & team! .....love the 80s retro vibe w the practical fx. Def gonna be a favorite PS. what did you use for the explosions to get that unique effect (fx aside)?
Freakin AWESOME ! ! ! Happily Sub'd and anxiously going to be watching for more thrillers like that race one and this one too ! Thanks for caring and for sharing =D
Keeping most of it practical is the prettiest I think. Greenscreen and VFX should be used as little as possible to keep it realistic, but when used right they add to a video.
holy moly. you boys must be workiing really hard cause yall look super tired and sleep deprived. check out dem eye bags! hope you guys are getting some well deserved rest. thanks for the video. was EPIC!
aesome video as always guys.. really love your work. and thanks for the tops and tricks my only question is... how many rc cars did you guys explode in the video?
I've been trying to figure out recently how to composite in a castle behind the trees in a down pan in a project I'm working on. The shot is moving so I know it'll take some tracking... Anyone wanna point me in the right direction?
every time they have a shot where they know they have to paint something out, they take a photo or a bit of film without any foreground objects of the same shot. Then later in post they can cover the strings, poles and Sams out with that background plate.
I think it might have been a mix of videocopilot's pulse wave effects with some particle effects, and some shapes or more particles with glow for the beam itself
Awesome BTS guys, love these. I was curious, do you guys contact the authors (like Carpenter Brut and Savant that I've heard in other videos) prior to using their music in your videos? I'm sure the artist would definitely benefit from the exposure but just curious on your approach. Thanks, and keep up the great work!
LOL Sam is getting emotionally attached to those Drones and RC cars... I guess that's why he felt bad... That they had to blow up the good drones and RC cars...
I had to shoot a nano drone for a kicks tarter campaign I recently produced... It it is impossibly hard! I guess wit an epic in like... 4K or 5k you have way more wiggle room... But I only have a 5D... It's hard :( check out zano on kickstarter if you fancy seeing my work :)
Slightly disappointed that the contest requires Facebook, since there are a lot of us that don't use it, and some downright refuse to do anything involving it.
BTS are as interesting as the normal video, you guys are amazing :)
Keep it up :D
I thought it was one of your best videos in terms of just the pacing, style, action, etc. overall great video, especially as one that i came into with no expectations at all
This was one of your best shoots to date. Seriously well put together!

You are not alone :)
I think they are leaving this stuff for their Patreon supporters :/
It would be pretty interesting to see exactly what they used to blow the cars up.
I would also like to see a more in depth video in the effects
LeadingNowhere I second that statement
I love it how you guys are dragging him in a trolley in 2:25
I was definitely wondering how you pulled off some of those shots. Some really creative solutions there! Thanks as always for the BTS guys!

Megga thumbs up on it from me guys, because your expert skills and experience as film makers made it look so darn easy. Well done. It truly is an amazing piece of filming.
What really makes this awesome it's that it also has an interesting story line not just a bunch of VFX randomly selected
That's the way to do it guys! Mixing special and visual effects together.
(for the benefit of those who have watched the shared video on G+ already), this behind the scenes footage is super sweet. I want a Parrot drone (have for a while actually). I bet my kids would as well. Great work guys!
The work was worth it, looks like a big budgety style movie. Awesome!
Nothing but quality from u guys!!
That was incredible. Great job!
I get so much enjoyment watching every video you do! WOOPWOOP!
That shot from inside the car XD Awesome !
Plain awesome! good classic miniatures. REALLY well done CD & team! .....love the 80s retro vibe w the practical fx. Def gonna be a favorite
PS. what did you use for the explosions to get that unique effect (fx aside)?
I think it was mainly black powder.
You guys are amazing
Thx for the BTS keep it up!
I love your videosss !!!!!!!
I have been a fan for a while and I still have this question? "When are you guys making a movie?"
I love how you guys have always said "consider subscribing", rather than "please subscribe", which I feel sounds more disingenuous. :P
I really liked this one, would love to see more like it, I think the Mad Max version would also still be pretty cool too.
thanks this helps quite a bit in my film-making-ness
Are the drift cars 1:10 scale? i wanted to buy one but i didnt know how good they were.
i love you guys and your videos ^_*
One shot I didn't understand how you did was the one in 0:22 in the original video where the cameras angle was in the car. How did you do that?!
HELL YES CARPENTER BRUT!
Man U guys r so awesome
Had no idea fishing line was used so much while watching it. Nicely done as usual guys! What camera is wren using when sitting in the wheelbarrow?
holy moly. you boys must be workiing really hard cause yall look super tired and sleep deprived. check out dem eye bags! hope you guys are getting some well deserved rest. thanks for the video. was EPIC!
Does anyone the name of that model rc car thats on 2:40 the one that is in the air
I loved the vid, gave me the chills
I like the BTS videos you guys go, its a good look into how you make your videos.
Awesome video and BTS! Do you think you guys could go a video on how to do the explosions?
Can you please do a video on like wiring the little explosives, like is it just a timing thing or what?
Carpenter Brut is great. Wish that music was used all over the place!
How can I Remove the black thing in 3:28?
aesome video as always guys.. really love your work. and thanks for the tops and tricks
my only question is... how many rc cars did you guys explode in the video?
I love your vids

Is it too late to enter?
Wow, how could you edit out stuff like strings, poles or Sams? :D Amazing
masking I suppose
every time they have a shot where they know they have to paint something out, they take a photo or a bit of film without any foreground objects of the same shot. Then later in post they can cover the strings, poles and Sams out with that background plate.
I shared it already!!!!!!!!!
You're legends
It was awesome to say the least
Also do you have a channel for your band *The Keep*
how much did you guys spend on those rc cars and drones? also how much were the explosives?
These guys are really talented! and there amazing VFX artists...Even though most of it was practical.
I like Niko's laugh
please do a tutorial on how to paint out wires/crew from a shot!
Dangit, I don't have a facebook. Oh well...
Love your stuff guys! #MyInspiration
cool video guys. can you show us how you rigged the explosions?
What are the background songs you use in your bts?
how'd you do the explosions
I'm going to guess some sort of low yield fireworks.
Yeah I wanna know the specifics tho
how did you guys make the plasma effect on the "Drone"? did you make elements in 3DSMAX with fumeFx? and when will you guys have a live stream?
I think it might have been a mix of videocopilot's pulse wave effects with some particle effects, and some shapes or more particles with glow for the beam itself
k
Hm, I wanted to hear what you used for the practical explosions... :/
Use fireworks
hey who are the people from the picture? i have seen one of them before but dont remember where
What's the name/maker of the MH-6 Little Bird helicopter model used?
But do you ship overseas? and if so, do we have to pay the shipping?
I want these guys to make a tv show instead of video game highschool. Their stuff with Bammo was great and I JUST WANT MORE
Great video.
What software did you use for the blue lasers?
Awesome BTS guys, love these. I was curious, do you guys contact the authors (like Carpenter Brut and Savant that I've heard in other videos) prior to using their music in your videos? I'm sure the artist would definitely benefit from the exposure but just curious on your approach. Thanks, and keep up the great work!
how did you do the explosions?
Stupid question: How do you remove the fishing line?
LOL Sam is getting emotionally attached to those Drones and RC cars... I guess that's why he felt bad... That they had to blow up the good drones and RC cars...
For some reason the music reminded my of like a modern electronic remix of knightrider
COOL
can someone give me tips on how to easily remove those fishing line/string in AE?
I would like to see some more hoe to videos. The foley video was very helpful and I'd love to see another similar how to video
I always can't get the sumo or flying spider my mother do not allow me to share or buy it.
It's a world size giveaway?
JESUS CHRIST MARIE! THEY'RE MINERALS!
How do you know if you win?
I had to shoot a nano drone for a kicks tarter campaign I recently produced... It it is impossibly hard! I guess wit an epic in like... 4K or 5k you have way more wiggle room... But I only have a 5D... It's hard :( check out zano on kickstarter if you fancy seeing my work :)
love me some carpenter brut.
Normally I don't watch BTS, but for this one I was like "how on earth did you film this". gj ^^
very cool and looks complicated
Will you guys ever make a game of thrones themed video?
Still felt super road warrior-esque to me.
Why Facebook in don't have it
So how do the exlposions work?
I think they just stuck a small amount of explosive in the chassis.
Switzer Fireworks work too!
make an explosion episode ;)
Don't have facebook :(
um.. the main video is not working...
No "You have to live in this or that country" restriction for the giveaway?
aaaannd looking for tracy tsu
So how many RC cars ended up in RC Heaven? (including the heli) :)
Parrot minidrone, hmm.... ganna ask mum if I can get on me birthday
I don't have a facebook account
Did you actually have to destroy the cars with those explosions?
I'll never know how you got the weight of the cars to look correct
We filmed a lot of this at 48 fps. Slowing things down a touch makes them look heavier and bigger on camera!
CorridorDigital Hah I was wrong! turns out I will know how you did that! Thanks gents
What if I don't have a Facebook? And don't want to make one?
OMG
Slightly disappointed that the contest requires Facebook, since there are a lot of us that don't use it, and some downright refuse to do anything involving it.
Hey guys awesome video I bet it gets expensive when you start actually blowing up rc vehicles I mean those ones you are using aren't exactly cheap
DATS AWESOME M8te
#NoFunNiko is Fun.
