@@BackmansGarage I thought i replied to you the same day, but i guess i didnt. Yes i did use a screwdriver for the filter. I've never seen any other filters utilize that before i got my B5 and bought stock filters.
Never prefill a filter on the clean side. The new oil container has no guarantee of cleanliness and can have debree big enough to hurt main bearings. If you are paranoid about oil pressure during the few seconds of cranking it takes to fill the filter, filter your oil first.
I realise there are divided opinions about this method, so to each their own. I usually don't pre-fill oil filters, but on this one it was easy enough to try it. Cant say the oil pressure built up noticeable quicker than usual tho.
For future reference if you still have the car, the water pumps on those are known for getting destroyed because of the plastic impeller I suggest getting a metal one for future
Ja inte den smidigaste man bytt kanske, men det var överlag ganska trevligt ändå. Tog lång tid men det va ju gott om utrymme när man väl plockat bort allt :)
im Doubtful. There were many different setups for the pulleys and tensioners on these engines. Maybe the belt itself is compatible, but I would cross-check part numbers with Audi just to be safe.
Your other YT channel looks most interesting Mattias, cheers.
Thanks :)
Good work as always. Just did an oil change on mine yesterday
Did you use a screwdriver for the filter?

oil pressure issue is only when the engine was rebuilt, if you put or not oil in it dosent matter when engine had run
nigdy nie puszczamy pompy na sucho.... jest ona do wyrzucenia.... szok

Good tip! Too bad the car is scrapped now :(
i come from china,absolutely wonderful
I have to do this next week and am wondering if I should remove the radiator completely like you did here? Is the crank pulley difficult to remove?
Yes to the first question and No on the second one 🙂
Mycket skruvande för att byta kammremen, men nu kan du köra några år innan nästa byte 👍
