I had edge a ford edge and the capacity of the washer fluid tank is supposedly only 1.5 galonda bit I swear I’ve put slightly over 2 in it in. Not sure why one needs that much but it’s got it.

The first one here is a -98 and the other a -96 so maybe somewhere there they decided to change it. But you can see that the brackets are still there from the earlier version. I wonder why they decided to change it.

@@BackmansGarage I don't think it is a matter of having changed it somewhere between 96 and 98. The post 96 models are a somewhat commemorative release, they are different from the pre 96 models in several ways. The regular 940 was produced until 95 and released everywhere, and then the 96-98 version which is really just 2 years of production was only released in europe. (and maybe japan? I don't know. It wasn't released in the USA, that's for sure.) The difference must be between the versions. I don't know if any pre 96 version has the nice cover with the bottom hook or not. But you should also consider that these covers do break and the are interchangeable, so maybe the gray car doesn't have an original cover!? Unless the car was always yours and you do know it's original. Othwerwise it could be from an early 90s car!? Is the red wagon the 940 "Classic" version? Or did they call is something else in sweeden?

@@salvadorpalma8173 Could be something like that for sure. I do have books on every year on what was new with that particular year for each year. Maybe one can find some answers there. On the black car it can be swapped for sure! It has had many owners and is in a sad state. I do have a 90's 740 that I havent had a look at, might have something similar. Yes the -98 is a classic model. Do you know if the 940 was ever released with anything like the classic trim in the US ? More specifically the painted bumpers, mirrors and different trim on bumpers and windows ?

@@BackmansGarage I am not sure I understand your question. The classic trim was not available in the us, nor anything similar to it. I have also never seen anyone on the forums with painted mirrors or bumbers. I have a feeling that was a 960 thing that they adopted to the classic version, as I don't know any cases of pre 96 940s with painted mirrors, but I might be wrong on this one. I personaly don't like it. Mine has anthracite mirrors and bumpers, and I perfer it that way, rather than yours for example. Mine are original non-painted, so the classic trim itself had different options. What is completely 100% specific to our trim is that trim frame above and around the bumpers. On the back it's one piece. On the front it's 3 pieces. I have lost both the 2 little ones. I need to find those or fit a pre-96 bumper which doesn't have that trim separated, it's all part of the bumper. I suppose your 96 is probably like that.

It does say 142k, in Sweden we don't say the milage in km but in one mil (10km) so in Sweden its 14k Mil and not 140000km. Sorry bout the confusion, im so used to saying it in Swedish 😄

Det va nog bara lite gammelt bös som va från fabrik. Den brände in sig efter ett par ggr och nu luktar det inte mera 👍 Still going strong efter dessa år iaf. Tips är dock att köra på blankdiesel.

I avoided feltema at least and went to mekonomen and got the semperit hose. I dont know if its good but i will look into the cohline for future hoses, for now im just happy to have it running :)

Thanks! No. Haven't had the time to take it apart but the new volvo 945 will help with that once it's inspected and on the road again I can take the engine out and see what's up. Depending on what I find out we will move on from there 👍

@@ricksampson6780 Probably has to do with the accelerator pedal issue where moisture somehow gets into the connector shorting it out and can lead to a runaway amongst other issues. There is a recall out there for all vehicles affected by the issue.

Thanks! I also have a 940, b230fk, m90 -96 but the wagon. However that's my beater/shitbox/winter sled, but i aim to keep this one in mint condition. This one is actually quite low-spec for the model year. I only think the Ac is the one option that is on this. The Classics of -98 had alot of extras stock :)

Already done 🫡 They were remarkably stiff and dry. I find i odd since on my other volvo that has done 4x the milage they feel like new. It is a -96 som maybe it was another supplier of hose or just the conditions 🤔

@@BackmansGarage I got one made in 1991 the first year and it got the 16Valve engine. They were only made in 1991. Then Volvo was going over to the Turbo models instead. So the original 16 valve is pretty rare in the 940 series.

Well that's kind of sad. I diddent even know that. I would say they really started to be really good after 1996 with the cherry on top for the -98 model year with the extra trim.

It falls into the tiles and gets trapped underneath. Needs clening out once a year or so.

Check to see if its turned according to the arrow (if there is one) if not turned like the arrow shows than i would retighten it in that direction. I have no idea of what can happen but i cant say that nothing will happen either.

All these parts are from several different suppliers in Sweden. I had them listed but I deleted all my links and they went with it. I'm currently building a webbpage that will hold more info on my videos, links, info and more, I will try to get everything listed there. The problem is that youtube doesent like deadlinks in the description so I need to move that off site because I have no way of keeping track of 100's of links spread out over all my videos all at once.

I totally get where you're coming from. The tiles do have their pros and cons. While they might not be the best for all types of garage work, especially when heavy tools or equipment are involved, I’ve found them great for lighter tasks and keeping things looking neat and for detailing.
