  • In this video, I start the process of swapping out the cambelt on my (new to me) 2001 Audi A4 B5 1.8 T with about 111000k on the clock that is still rocking the stock cambelt and that is in desperate need of a good service.
I know it's not a Volvo, but there is a thought behind that
I don't want my daily to be a Volvo because I will only start building something on it, and it will become a project of itself. So now that i got this "boring" Audi it might be left alone... Although I did find a PnP harness for a Maxxecu for it and immediately started reading up on a big turbo conversion 😂
But no, this car will be left alone and focus will be on the t5 engine swap.

Glad to see B5 content from you. I've owned one for 3 years now and its my favorite chassis. Mine is on a standalone ECU from Moldova that I've been tuning. Looking forward to more content.

Nice! I really enjoy the car apart from a few minor things, but overall, I am pleasantly surprised by what you get for the money. Do you have a link to that Moldovan supplier? Would be nice to check it out. What engine are u running?

@@BackmansGarage i have a 1998 Audi A4 with the AEB 1.8t. built it with acl standard main and rod bearings, kings thrust bearings, maxpeeding 144x20mm rods, stock pistons and wrist pins, dnj rings, stock head with new valves and seals from fcpeuro, gtx3076 billet wheel turbo with a cast manifold, flex 93/e85 fuel system and a few other odds and ends. Look up Invent Labs EMS2. Great ecu for the money. im among the first to run it in the USA, but they have decent support in a few languages.

It's like I said, every carmaker has something good to bring to the table. Apart from some bad plastic, I can't complain about it too much.
