Be still sad heart! And cease repining Behind the clouds is the sun still shining Thy fate is the common fate of all Into each life some rain must fall..

"Thy fate is the common fate of all Into each life some rain must fall Some days must be dark n dreary" SUPERB lines mirroring the realities of life. Along side the 'dreamy' exists the 'dreary' n both must be accepted with equanimity.. Thanks for uploading another great poem!
For some reason the word equanimity reminds me of Goenka. That's how much impact his course had on me. Hello there, human. Wishing you equanimity in both dreary and dreamy days ❤️
I love your channel more than anything. I play it every morning and it gives me a sense of positivity and the strength to move through all the turmoil inside myself. And the voice of whoever is reading this poem helps a lot too. Lots of love and gratitude your way.
Simply beautiful loved it an excellent short poem and so touching as well for sure some days we do not feel at our best, but life goes on no matter what and bad days are changed whit good days as night being changed by the day.
In our life, we all face dark and dreary times. The speaker in the poem reminds us that no matter dark and difficult it may seem, it will pass too, and there are always better days to come.
After looking up Sir H.W. Longfellow I read that his wife was badly burned and he burned himself while saving her. She died the next day as a result of her injuries. I can see now why his days were Dark and Dreary. RIP Sir H.W. Longfellow and Frances Longfellow.
Does anyone know what year this was written? Longfellow had some quite tragic moments in his life, so it's always nice when you know out of what experiences such poems might been inspired from.
It was published in 1842. His first wife passed away in 1831 - it affected him greatly and wrote several poems about her a few years later. His second wife he had been trying to court for nearly a decade - she only accepted in 1843 - that also ended in tragedy with his wife dying from burns in 1861 - he himself got badly burned trying to save her and started growing a beard to hide them after.
One of the greatest Americans that ever lived. I have visited the house where he lived most of his life, a lot of history there. In fact George Washington lived there when the American Revolution began.
‘After the sun the rain After the rain the sun This is the way of life til the work be done’ This was the simplest hymn we sang at primary school and I still exchange these words with my adult children when we’re having a tough day. And we remind ourselves that most of the time we are miserable over first world problems...
The Rainy Day by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow The day is cold, and dark, and dreary; It rains, and the wind is never weary; The vine still clings to the mouldering wall, But at every dust the dead leaves fall, And the day is dark and dreary. My life is cold, and dark, and dreary; It rains, and the wind is never weary; My thoughts still cling to the mouldering past, But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast, And the days are dark and dreary. Be still, sad heart! and cease repining; Behind the clouds is the sun still shining; Thy fate is the common fate of all, Into each life some rain must fall, Some days must be dark and dreary.
Great narration on such a beautiful poem! The 2024 movie "After Her Smile" features the poem "Curfew" by Longfellow, bringing its themes to life in a moving narrative.
THAT'S WHAT TODAY WAS FOR ME...DARK AND DREARY FILLED WITH ANXIETY AND FEAR KEEP GETTING IN MY WAY IN WHICH, LEAD TO MY BODY AND I BECOME COMPLETELY PARALYZED! DEPRESSED AND WEARY AND NOW FEELING QUITE WORN ...HOPING BYE TOMORROW THAT THE HEAVY BURDEN WILL BE LIFTED...NOW I MUST REST MY HEAD BECAUSE, SLEEP IS THE ONLY FREEDOM I CAN GET! 🤟🏻✌🏻

The 19th century was the height of human cognitive ability. Such beautiful words. I wish more people would hear them.
The Middle Ages were quite astonishing too!
I would contest that the 17th century holds that accolade.

If lions could speak...
Oh mate!! 👍🏾
There is a lion who speaks and His voice is as many waters...
Right
They do, but they dont need to. Silence overpowers speech. In any way.
Was closing my eyes and then BOOM!! The voice.
How can one voice be so powerful
Amazing voice.
My soul feels like it’s trying to leave this body, the tears real they fall. The loneliness is still along with the quieter I feel
