imagine going into battle and seeing a shirtless guy wearing a hat that's swinging a glaive around while they just drink ale and stand back 😂
Isn't that how the brain eatey purple squid dudes roll?
I was so worried Cinder was going to miss out on Kraken Week. Love the direction you went, dude!
The ability to dual wield greatswords, good extra dammage on every hit, crazy reach, free chain lightning (indeed great spell) and a whole warlock build on top? I'd say that is crazy enough.
We’re eating good tonight, fellas.
Kraken Week! 🐙
Kraken Hat+Bugber+Glaive+Polearm Master+Sentinel+War Caster+Chain Lightning=Living Tesla Coil
Then just make the character a Bard for the LOLs
[Electricity crackling to the tune of AC/DC's thunderstruck]
I love those hats
Cinder, I love this vid and PDF! THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!!!
An archfey warlock would go off with the (a)Bowleth
You’re covering Kraken week! You made it! ❤
Hey, Cinder! Love all of these magic items. They're all so creative and feel very new.
Edit: Nevermind, wasn't paying attention. All these are great.
The barbarian needs the quipper hat. Then he can fill a bag of holding with water and quippers and he will never feel lonely again.❤
PLEASE make more hats
This video was awesome!!
The little Phish joke got me and I loved it
This is how i think it went down:
> Sally has no idea Kraken week is happening. He is calm.
> In the car, on his way home.
> Finds out about kraken week.
PANIK.
> Has to make video fast. No idea what to make it about.
> Takes off hat after coming home.
> Has idea
Pretty much exactly this.
HELL YEAH
1:34 one of my top 3 fav MTG lands
Yes! These are great for my naval campaign! Thank you, Cinder, and big thanks to Kraken Week!
The kraken hat is artifact level. Theres a ton of benefits you didnt mention, for example all spells with a range of touch can now be cast from 30 ft. Away.
I figured. Glad others agree. I spent a bit more time talking about my thought process in this one - so I wanted to keep at least a few moments of me second guessing myself. Second Guessing is a big part of making homebrew. haha
I really love the Water Weird Wig. I'll probably make it also recharge at dawn, just so the player can use it more than once per week during their desert expedition (though encouraging use of Create Water is tempting)
Always love your content!
Great video. Also, I was trying to find the video about the old dnd movie, but all I could find was the short about it. Was the video taken down?
I had a purge of some of my earlier videos a while back. I might remake that one.
an u are awesome@@Cinderblocksally
Madame Web catching strays
Hey, those are all cool af. I'd prefer an escape DC on the Water Weird Wig, but that'll make it stronger for sure.
Kraken hat and sentimental game over
As always, I'm here for D&D balance and ideas.
I think it's really cool that Bowleth doesn't provide telepathy, but still gives a benefit. High enough level for you to have an expectation here.
Infinite in use is really good, although I do think it's super easy to kill a creature you've charmed with dominate monster. If we had time I'd suggest lowering the domination duration to 1 minute and lowering the psychic damage to 2d6 or even 1d6.
I know we don't talk about this usually, but I think the Coif is a lower power artifact because its DC is only 20, so I think the +5 is fitting. (Artifacts can range to DC 23)
Also I swore I'd keep from most spelling mistakes but I swear that should be "while attuned to" for the coif
Really cool to see your homebrew though! Like it very much!
P.S. What in the RTS is the game at 17:50
13:01 actually you can by dealing dammage to the dominated target as it then gets to retry the save.
Came here from the short and was hoping for some super sweet looking art. Once i saw the drawing in the video, i thought no, these are better i hope this is the art. And i was not disappointed. Legend
Hell yeah! This is so cool! I figured you’d be participating!
The barbarian sent me XD
he's great
@@Cinderblocksally Oh most definitely!
I want to say, take the ink cloud and double the range while in water.
Love me some long form cinder
Followed the link Thanx cinder!!
Hat that’s portal to Plane of Water and constantly flows
Helm of heavy rain
Looks like an umbrella hat
While this helm is worn and attuned causes a small rain cloud to continuously pour five feet above the wearer
Thanks for the hats
thx for it ❤️
That is a cunning coif.
Four-armed is forewarned 😊
Majora's Mask but if it were hats.

I'm definitely gonna add these to my aquatic campaign, do you have any recommendations for how to make underwater combat more balanced for all classes like arrows don't go as far type stuff?
Check the Kraken Playlist linked in the video description! You will find all sorts of stuff
Does the invisibility spell have a verbal component? So does the water wig not need the verbal component to work? So does it work even under the effect of silence?
generally items to do not require any spell components to cast spells from them. Sometimes an item will say "you speak the command word" which would be a sort of verbal component.
@@Cinderblocksally Command word: Brrllbllrlrbl
@@AresFordwin Were you expecting water dinosaur for how we solved this puzzle?
the coif lets you carry two two handed weapons
or a two handed weapon and a shield and something else!
Problem is mosy 2 handed weapons are heavy...
@@Potato15461only a problem if you are small.
Wait medium guys can carry 2 heavy weapons?
The bait was taken
Me find magic hat!
My dad made a level 20 higher who dualwilds weapons and there magicly connected so he fires 1 both fire so with bonus action he fires 10 bullets you just gave him 20 attacks Avery round then action serge so 40 bullets 2 rounds 20 bullets Avery other round op

disappointed to not see a hat mimic
They are not aquatic
Wait so an adventurer or pirate with The aboleth bowler hat thing could just get a whole School of fish or crabs in a fishing net, convince them to respond to their psychic communication (because rules is written, creature doesn't have to have a language to understand psychic communication, And there's no way a fish would pass a charisma persuasion check.) been with dc18 wisdom saving throw; (which again, they're pretty much guaranteed to fail because, fish!) charm them, kill them with psychic damage, then they can go... Raid a ship or explore a dungeon with hundreds, if not thousands of temporary hit points between them and whatever. Defenses their adversary might have!!!
I see you took the Minecraft tricky trials update approach to balancing some of these items
" Why would we make an item that can already one shot the ender dragon even more powerful? Well because... Why not?"
-Mojang devs 2024
Edit. Okay so according to The replies to my comment temporary hit points don't stack, And I did miss the bit about the hats dominate mind feature only working once per day... So it's not quite as " I survive every hit I take because I'm seafaring Batman!" As I initially thought... But it still seems like it could be incredibly broken if you were clever enough; caging some creatures with a large amount of hit points. Still low charisma and wisdom stats, experimentally comboing it with barbarian rage or druids wild shape... or both!
You could do a lot of game breaking stuff with this and honestly I kind of like it!
If I played in a campaign where the DM gave the party an aboleth hat I would probably talk with the other player to come up with the broken combos with the understanding that after a few sessions playing with game breaking combos one of our characters would accidentally drop a lantern on the hat, burning it and destroying the item for the sake of the DM's game.
If I was DMing and gave it to my players I would do so saying "Okay, I know you going to break my game with this thing, but I think it's going to be really fun! So I'm going to give it to you, but only for a few sessions... So, have fun!"
And then just enjoy the chaos!
Multiple instances of Temp HP don't stack. Whenever you still have Temp HP and gain more Temp HP, you choose to either keep what you have or replace it with the new amount. And the hat requires Attunement, so it'd take at least an hour to pass it off to someone else to gain their own Temp HP from it.
...Guess you could still exploit the infinite usage to kill a bunch of fish until you get the max 3d6 roll of 18 Temp HP, though.
Temp HP don’t stack and you can only use the mind control feature once a day. In order to have a creature charmed, you still need to expend some resources, either through abilities or spells that give a creature the “charmed” condition.
At most it’s semi infinit 18 temp hp (assuming you roll max)

Does it say that it magically turns your head into a swarm of seething tentacles? because thats what it does.. it doesn't look like a hat on, you look like an underwater medusa with tentacles instead of snakes.
