steve blum's voice sounds too artificial to be threatening. He didn't even have a personality in that movie. Michael Ironside's voice sounds just how darkseid should, a mad god who wants total dominion over everything. Steve Blum sounds like some generic monster.
Are you kidding. The Darkseid war voice was generic and had to fkn convincing part of it. he sounded like a frkn robot. Michael gave Darkseid in animated series an immense personality. Ok anmited series had great script, but his voice gave Darkseid incredibly powerfull personality, toughness and convincing feel. Steve blum sounded like a robot. Heck even the black guy who voiced Darkseid in batman/superman apocalypse was way better than steve

The amount of talent that is behind the DCAU is amazing when you think about. Really cool that they managed to get mainstream Hollywood actors like Mark Hamill, Clancy Brown, Malcolm McDowell, Michael Dorf, Roscoe Lee Brown, Michael York, Nathan Fillion, Niel Patrick Harris and many others ... just an all out unbelievable cast!

I always knew Michael Ironside as Sam Fisher. Never thought or knew he played Darkseid till today.
I remember him from starshiptroopers and command and conquer. Very surprised to learn he's a fellow Canadian and voiced so many other roles I loved.

I can't help but hear Sam Fisher every time.
And sure, Michael is one of those actors that basically never changes his voice to fit different characters, but his voice is so perfectly rugged on its own, he doesn't NEED to. Just his inflection is enough to go from tough but lovable in Fisher to nightmare fuel in Darkseid.
Same whenever I hear him, I think of Sam.

First time I ever heard Ironside was through Sam Fisher, and after years of exposure to the character, it's really weird. It's like Fisher is voicing Ironside in interviews to me, as opposed to the other way around.

He can play heroes, too! He was the mercenary Ham Tyler on the V TV series and Captain Hudson on Seaquest.
Michael Ironside deserve such a great voice of Darkseid I really wish Michael inronside he could use another next voice villain Like Thanos if he was the voice of Thanos right now he would have killing it between Darkseid and Thanos that would have been amazing

I just saw him in the movie, "Nobody". That dude has really gotten big. I think he's a great actor. Wish he would lose the weight and stay healthy, but at this rate, probably wont be around much longer.

Happy B-day Michael Ironside. UR amazing legend. I love Terminator 4 Salvation. It's super awesome. I watch all of them. Terminator is the best, movies. Seriously!!! Lake Placid 3 is great, also seen all of them... my older brother plays Splinter Cell not me. It is good game. Starship Troopers is fucking awesome. Again: seen all of them. Part 1 is good. And Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars is an awesome game... playing war games totally kool... and X-Men First Class, it's ok. Extremely Prejudice is not bad. I may have seen it, when I was younger. People seem to forget he's still Sam Motherfucking Fisher. Eric Johnston filled in for him on Blacklist, but he's back now, baby. I'm glad he recovered from cancer, love the guy. Met him at a con a few years ago and he is extremely nice.

I had a few thoughts on the casting of the Lord of Apokalips. Charles Dance. Robert Wisdom. Ian McShane. And before his sudden, tragic passing, Michael Clarke Ducan. But with the new Cirrian Hines will be playing Darkseid's general, and uncle Steppenwolf, in JUSTICE LEAGUE. And doing it mo-cap. Snyder and company could just as easily bring in Ironside for the role.
I don't know how old Michael Ironside is. I am around 40....and I can honestly state that even if he turns 200 years old, he will still be a 100 proof, fail proof, bullet proof, bad Motherfucker!!! I would also say that his is the current undisputed heavy weight champ of "heavies" in entertainment.

everybody else overplays it, gets to emotional. Darksied is cold, distant, calculating, cruel, confident, charismatic. When he says he is a God there is no boasting, he isn't trying to impress anyone, he is simply saying that to him you are but a bug...
Ironside NEEDS to play him in the justice league film. There is no other option.
I think the VA for Darkseid in btbatb is great too.

Yeah that guy did a pretty good job as Darkseid. I still think Ironside has the calm, more calculating tone. The BATB voice sounds too much like a bouncer then a boss. Still he is way better then some of the others. A good second to Ironside's first. I can hardly wait for what he will sound like in the HBO Max version of the Snyder JL mini series. Fingers crossed that they just get Ironside for the voice.

Why didn’t they make him Darkseids voice in the DCEU 🙄, it’s like the people behind the live actions either absolutely no knowledge of all TAS or purposefully try to distance themselves from it 🙄 so freaking annoying
I love Snyder. I love his movies. But I grew up with Ironside as Darkseid, so his Darkseid just sounds like rock learned how to speak....just a generic deep alienish villain voice...Ironside had that deep voice but also added a distinct “I’m also super intelligent and put together” aspect to his voice naturally. He didn’t come off as some generic strong brute and he didn’t have to have good voice lines to show his intelligence it was just built into his voice (though his dialogue was also well written!)

I disagree. Michael Ironside IS Sam Fisher. He sat down and recreated the character from scratch, putting himself into Sam. A lot of what Sam says in the games is a personal commentary. He even said in an interview, "I AM Sam Fisher, I never left."
Yeah, but when my head gets chopped off, I can’t really gloat about how a head isn’t really a “limb”, per se. Seems kind of game over at that point.
