Wild stuff for a 16 year old. Oh yeah and Marty ruled.

I grew up with Marty in Laurel md.....watched him play literally in a wooden barn with the group deuce..........it was an incredible experience watching him play at 14 years old to 18
You can take his top 100 solos and all of them will melt our faces off... Extremely original, experimental and ever improving. He never stops improving himself... (New content for 30+years) Marty Friedman's influence on Guitar playing is often overlooked. But it's ever present. Marty = Good phrasing. If any player wants to sound unique and has unique phrases, we will automatically think that it sounds Marty Friedman-ish..........

My favorite thing about Marty is he’s managed to be so obscenely good without having the alien hands that so many other great guitar players were blessed with.
His melodic lines are so long and accumulate so much tension. It's like he went back through Brian May and ended up jamming with Chopin. I guess the long chord progressions in Japanese pop music have helped him develop his musicality as well. Great list. Thanks for posting.
it's funny but the first time (and thanks to the choice of solos selected for this compilation) i am hearing a VERY strong Brian May influence in Marty's playing. I always thought about Uli Jon Roth and the classical influence but even the tone and the way Marty sustains the notes to make them sing and so reminiscent of Brian May. I love both guitarists, obviously! I feel similar things when i listen to them
Wow tears of an angel was absolutely beautiful that was the first time I've ever heard that. I'm mostly familiar with his work on rust in peace and cacophony.
This is the easiest list ever to make. You just can't go wrong as every Marty solo feels like it's the greatest solo ever while you're listening to it. As much as he's revered in the guitar world, I still feel he's way too underrated.
Never seen this video until now. I reallly enjoyed listening this video man. You have 9/10 on my top ten martys solos. including the perfect world. It seems you and I have very similar taste for Marty´s Songs. Great video!!
