you should do a video on the chroma cannons master/slave mode because I can't figure that out at all, that and the sound active mode is complete garbage.
Hey Rick, always a great source of info. One question; do you know if there is an actual DMX # associated with the “Chinese” colors groups/channels? Thanks
Really like how you ran the IEC cables for each of the lights within the case. Gonna do that for my 10 light case soon. Also, Will be ordering more lights from you in next couple of months !!!
@@DJRickWeb thanks for your fast answer. Could me maybe also answer a question about the same function for the 360 tubes? From one of your videos I learned, that they can‘t be used while charging, is that true? Thanks in advance :)
You say they are both receiving and transmitting wireless dmx. Does that mean that a can feed a wired signal to the first unit, and that will will be my transmitter for the others?
Hey DJ Rick thanks as always for your equipment feature videos - very helpful - do you have any good tutorials on Chauvea express? i’m using Avolites right now but it’s very difficult - And I’m thinking I’m making a switch
Hi - my S4 Up Lights turned off during a wedding yesterday not all of them only 4 out of 12 did! Is there a setting that could accidentally got turned on with the remote? They had 70% charge still left
Is there a way to dim or turn down the brightness on a S6 to preserve some of the battery life? I have mostly S4's and some S6's. The S6's battery always goes out before the S4's.
Hi Rick, How can I use these up lights with my wolfmix controller? Without a hardwire. Let’s say all the lights are across the room and I have no clear access to a light. Thanks
Using the ADJ Airstream DMX Bridge, can you control 2 groups of the S4 Minis with only one donner transmitter or would the 2 masters have to be on the same channel as the donner, which you said is not a good idea?
The Donner transmitter has the same group colors as the lights. One transmitter will control one group color.... There are no master lights when running on wireless DMX...all the lights are the slaves. The master/slave configuration is when NOT being controlled by wireless DMX. ADJ Airstream has 1 output, so you can only run 1 Donner unless you use a DMX splitter.
With wireless dmx like mentioned there are no masters. You put them all on the same wireless dmx group. You can then have groups via the different dmx channels. We have two different programmed channels in our setup (different numbers)
How do you keep Wi-Fi from dropping when installing smart home devices? I have a smart cord also but it doesn’t work it makes one of my cameras drop every time
Invest in a bad ass internet / wifi setup. I have erro pro 6 mesh system in my house. 3 separate mesh units. Each is connected via hardwire cat 6 cable back to the main frame 16 port switch. And we are on fiber gigibit internet.
You should ALWAYS include uplights in your package. Clients will often opt to not go with them if they are an additional charge. In my opinion. Just make your package more expensive. People like paying more when more is included instead of having to have to add on things. At least that’s the case here
Hi Rick, I use my s6 for almost a year now and never had a problem, till last Saturday. I use my lights with an wireless transmitter and everything works fine, but suddenly during a slow song my light are going crazy, one after the other starts to strobe. I looked and see a group laughing. I went to the light nearest by them and turned it off and everything was good again. So what happend they took the light and messed with it and put it on strobe, automatically it becomes a master and start interfering with all of my other lights. Is there something i can do to prevent this for happening?
Thanks for the tips! In fact, I just turned my shrouds around. Just an FYI, Li Ion batteries don't need oxygen for the chemical reaction to have a "thermal runaway." So having the covers closed on the chargers won't stop the runaway process if it does happen.
Agreed, heat and batteries are a dangerous combo. case sealed will build up heat, and like Kyle said, when those batteries go it won't matter that the case is closed, the reaction will be pretty agressive, look up electric scooter battery failure videos. most of the time the mfg will have a protection circuit that detects heat or current but if they fail, it can be very bad. I wouldn't take a chance considering the mfg specifically stated to charge them open, in the case of a fire you're insurance will not cover you. if you're gonna keep them close, I would suggest cutting a vent (or more than one) holes, put a hard mesh on the holes (maybe a PC fan if you want to get fancy) but at least some sort of way to vent these things.
@@dreamdaycharleston Brand new, I tested them this week. After 6 hours on one color the battery was down only like 20%. Then I had them on flashing, fading and other programs for like 3 hours an the battery was showing around 45% left.
The fact that they talk to each other really screws you, BECAUSE - If you lose signal from your transmitter they try to sync to each other and you literally have to go and turn every single one off before re-launching your transmitter before they’ll reconnect to DMX
No they dont. If you are running dmx and they loose the transmitter they just turn off and wait for another signal. They only talk to each other in master slave mode. As long you dont have any masters they will never do what you said
@@DJRickWeb happens with mine too if we lose DMX transmission. I’m not saying if they are out of range or can’t find a signal - in that case yes they’ll just stop responding until they pickup the signal
Okay but like your intial statement never happens. As long you dont have an active master in the room. I have never had to go turn the lights on and off to get them to reconnect. Both lighting lights dont have that problem

What is the distance on the master to slave. Thanks for the shield tip.
Max I would push it is about 75ft. I try to pick a central room light to be the master.

SSL2??

Its possible they got flipped on during transport... dont count on the % to be accurate on the screen either go off what you know.
Great video bro. A lot of nuggets in this one. Looking forward to a tips and tricks for the movers if you get around to it.
Hi Rick do you have in white color ?
Yes we sell in black or white
Is there a way to dim or turn down the brightness on a S6 to preserve some of the battery life? I have mostly S4's and some S6's. The S6's battery always goes out before the S4's.
Yep you can do it via dmx or on solid colors but not on like sound active
Great video, great lights. But how do you make one light the master and the rest slaves?
Set them all on the dmx screen. Then tune the master to the color or mode you want. Done
@DJRickWeb How do you set them? And thank you Rick! Am I looking for Master/Slave? Sorry
@christopherbiondi13 dont need to find master / slave it is built in to just work.
Can you do the same master/slave with the S4 Mini?
Nope
Hi Rick, How can I use these up lights with my wolfmix controller? Without a hardwire.

Just need a wireless dmx transmitter
Thanks for the tips
Thanks for the tips! QUESTION:
How many fixtures can slave to one master? I’ve been controlling 15 w/ one master so far
Hundreds not really a limit. The limit mainly comes in with distance. Once you get to 75' from the master the signal gets tougher

Absolutely. Thats what my company uses
How do you switch from master -red to green slave
Go to the dmx option. It turns to slave once a mast light is present
Can I get a dmx list for the moving spots that you sell?
Send an email to djrickweb@gmail.com we can get you help
thank you
Can you close the case with the cable plugged in to case?
With all the lights plugged in yeah the lid will close.
It can be closed. Just make sure nothing is in the way of outer perimeter where lids closes. ie, power Cords light brackets, kickstands, remotes, etc

how do you price these for an event? charge per unit or per 6/8 up lights??
