There's a place in my heart for those old gold cups that got heavily modified. They're a relic of the era as well because we simply didn't have production guns with all those features at once. Classics in their own right.
Happened to acquire an old war horse myself and to my surprise, it is really great to shoot and it always caught attentions in our local range. was offered a great deal on it but I told myself that I might not find or come across another one if I let it go. I also got original mags for it and I know that I might got crucified by everyone for telling you that I've installed a Pachmayr grips on it.
The 1911 club - you can't have just one. Pretty sure that's unAmerican. As to caliber....the 45 is my full frame steel gun. I'll carry that when I'm hunting or I've been watching Jesse Stone movies. 9mm is for the hot weather scandium frame 1911.
Magazine is such a huge factor.Nice guns, good show. Those grips on that Razorback look good even from a distance,CZ has really done well keeping that DW name and quality.
I've been looking at the " TISA'S" in .45acp, just so I had a .45, switched to 10mm many yrs ago, but can see having one in the safe, jic. Thx for the vid
Love your videos, great content as always! I got a 1911 Carbine thanks to one of your videos. It’s my only one, but better than none! One day I’ll get a “real” one.
I just recently finished my 1911 project build used CNC/forged parts from Stealth arms and Fusion Firearms. Commander sized Cerakoted two tone themed Black slide with Stainless frame Chambered in .45 ACP And outfitted with Bison Bone grips with the double diamond pattern Very pleased with the results Already planning on the next build this time a CCO 1911
I don't own a 1911. My dad has 3 (2 45s, 1 10mm) and I have shot them many times. I have a p220 45, a p320 45, and a p220 10mm. I'm still on the hunt for a stainless steel sig 1911.
Thanks for the good relaxing chat. Had a DW ECOin 9 w/Original mags, and some Ruger ones. Ruger mags would not hold the top round flat. Ordered more DW mags from CZ USA and they were fine. But after a few boxes, they would snap Golden Sabre and FTX hollowpoints up at 45 degrees and jam above the barrel into the top of slide. I could not figure it out, so switched to Kimber. Thoughts?
it's always a good video when you discuss 1911s. could you tell us what the name of Batjac store is on eBay, those ivory looking grips sound cool, it be nice to check out his stuff. Thanks again and happy new year to you and your family sir
i was about to ask that same thing. i love those grips and if im ever lucky enough to own one more 1911 id definately love to dress it up a little more than my Rock Island milspec
His inventory is going fast - but he did mention that he will be listing more grips for sale pretty soon. Anyway, here is the link: www.ebay.com/sch/falkw_47/m.html?_nkw&_armrs=1&_ipg&_from

CZ may own the company but the employees at Dan Wesson are still making excellent handguns.
Two thumbs way Up on this episode !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hate to hear about your house fire. 😔

Ammo choices (bullet style) can sometimes affect reliability as well.
I had a Springfield that did this with EVERYTHING, including original GI Ball. It's the feed ramp.
