Since there was a number of requests for more information on the Model 25, I'll attempt to cover that in today's video. Link to Part -1: • Smith & Wesson Model 2...
Timing for becoming friends with a guy who was just starting his gun business could not have been better. In less than five years (1974-1979) I was the proud owner of six S&W revolvers. I retain all of them today.
Remember well 77' 78' those were some good and interesting year for me, and the talk about Smith & Wesson Revolvers , thank you Sir & just love that blue finish ✅ 😎🇺🇸👍
When it comes to N-frame S&W revolvers, I've owned about every caliber available except 45 Colt. It's a very nice revolver, but I've been somewhat ambivalent because they aren't designed to handle hot loads. Mind you, if I came across a good deal on one of these classics I would not turn it down. They are sweet.
I have the model 57. I believe the grips were finished much better during the era that your N-frame was made. Mine aren't bad, but they don't have that shine. And I see this in other new ones, too.
Do you have any recommendations on where I can pick up walnut or rosewood grips for a round butt L frame that aren't overly priced? The places I've looked at want $200 or more for grips with the S&W medallion
Here is a set of OEM S&W RB grips that are affordably priced: www.ebay.com/itm/195943446310?hash=item2d9f23b726:g:PCoAAOSwr6Rk4a6C&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8CvUKMr2p6kMmY9g%2BGfERyiznGKNQpdn7blKC1z%2BmcUBES7kh6MNgFGU0qlMpmO7NRV2C396NFs5p1VLPBgd3Sq%2FZZsTHCuOc46Hyy4PCpHpA0yrdA6vOK6Dyz3HrR4hTx%2FNxgNd2J3htihQMrpq9er2xVrTHg1uhRH5zleeskDlXkSQEWuRCbs0WRu%2FK503oj5QaYugC0ghihvrgMKMROe%2BQ%2BFYGFUN4VWysJf0rFpp8MIRuz4dXUOIM0MzcWwjAsCzSuqNrkdZ%2BAS5iTs4WzUGzIXiVx5HGestIQtaI03a4ekt2G0oi%2B2nTqv3NWJNxg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR-KHhoffYg
I had just purchased a model 25-7 and on the barrel it's stamped as 45cal model 1989. It has an unfluted cylinder and is 45 Colt cal. Seems to be a fine weapon and is in VG condition. As I measured, it's a 5 inch barrel. Hope it shoots as well as it looks. PS, I got this for $750 which I felt was a bargain.

I inherited the 125th anniversary model. It is a beautiful revolver. It came with a case, the revolver, the book and a commemorative coin.
Excellent!
I absolutely love the 25-5 S&W 45 Long Colt as it looks like a model 29 but shoots soft.
Agreed! 👍
Thanks Icarryone for the second awesome video with some great info, Slim.
My pleasure Slim!

Excellent video as always, would you re upload the one with the stunt gun, would love to hear that story again. Thanks
RUclips said it hinted at "self harm" and suggested it be taken down. (Typical PC Culture casualty.)
Good Part Two! I knew it would be.
👍🤠
The 6.5 " 45 Colt is the best handling Large revolver I ever shot .
Thank you👍👍👍👍👍
Welcome 😊
Looks like a good time. Roll Tide roll
Yeah buddy! 👍

Probably cost cutting - but why?

Any time!
Keep making fine videos like this, and the revolver Renaissance is sure to come

@@Icarryone Thank you. I'm actually looking for the type that wraps around the grip frame, the wider style
Were these model 25's ever rated for +p .45 Colt?
I don't actually recall - I don't shoot +P in it anyway.
