Man, I've been gobbling down Parisa for a while and it's my favorite snack to munch on while driving . I'm so glad y'all tried it and got the word out about how good it is . ❤ Long live Castroville, long live Dzuik's , long live Parisa w/saltines and long live south Texas small towns and back roads !💝
I grew up in west bexar county literally 10 minutes from the Medina county line. And even with 10+ years of life in that area I had no clue castroville was French
My mom actually broke her foot at Castroville regional park right along the river a few years ago. My husband and I had to help her to the car and then we had to pack up our fishing gear. My mom's home is right along Potranco in Bexar County and we just pick her up and take her to Castroville at moments notice. My husband and I live on 281 towards Pleasanton.
Hope you come back soon to Castroville Chet! This time in August for St. Louis Day that happens every year! You don't wanna miss out on that one! There's good stuff including silent auction, St. Louis Downs, boardwalk of games, Bingo, washer pitching, and Horseshoe toss and of course the real meal deal Alsatian Sausage meal with Brisket and all the trimmings and everyone in the community preps up for the festival! Come join us this August! You and the crew don't wanna miss it! It's gonna be FUN!!! Hope to see y'all there!!!!
Just gonna clarify, I know he says it once, but Alsace is on the border between France and German so it's not just French like he says a couple times. Also too many people have been visiting lately so if you go to the bakery the earlier you go the better, yes it's open late however they run out of all the good stuff, including donuts, by 2 if it's a busy day. Also please don't pronounce it Alsauce 😅
You've got some points for sure. I always said "Al-Say-s" but it's correctly "All-Sauce.". I know strange. And it's in France but on the German border.
Alsace is a region of France, but it borders Germany and the Alsatian language is closer to German, from my understanding. They told me it was "Willkomme" as opposed to "Willkommen"
I know I say it a lot but a really great episode. Castroville just shot right up to top 10 Teas destinations.

Yep, Castroville Texas is a FRENCH/GERMANY community....not Mexican in any way, shape or form ❤
My Google map says, Paris St. Po’Boys is permanently closed??? What the heck?

My parents just came to visit & I was thinking of taking them to Castroville! This is perfect timing!!
I myself noticed the ridge that characterizes Castroville. I will have to return. I like your videos.
I am a new subscriber (Europe, France). I love your videos. best wishes.
Merci beaucoup

The Alsatian bakery...would be awesome if they would sell Brötchen.

Your police chief resigned after repeatedly using the N word, what a horrible racist dump.
lol you have some Brownsville on your chin there 😮
I’m glad you finally went
This looks like a good trip for Travel With The Hales
Total bummer. Got super excited about the Poor boys. But unfortunately google shows that Paris Street Po' boy's is permanently closed.
Nothin stays open here long :( the city is growing though, so here’s to hoping
00:27. 05:30. What about the entirety of East Texas? :-/
I moved here in’21. Love it.
I think it was William Shatner that wanted a gristmill in his yard.

That's my new hat from Gruene. I love it.
@@TheDaytripper it’s awesome 👍🏻👍🏻
Uh.. Wilkom is German right? The house looks German… You sure its a French community with that flag??
You didn’t listen - he mentions clearly starting at 2:14 - it borders Germany.

That poor boy put together grossed me out. Nobody in their right mind eats roast beef in gravy poured over fried shrimp. Just more gimmick crap.
Can’t knock it till you try it that’s what I tell all my kids and yes I live in this town and it’s awesome
