I was fortunate to have been born in Hico, one of the last babies born in the hospital/clinic. My parents went to high school there. One of my ancestors was a founding father of Hico at the ORIGINAL location on Honey Creek. When the railroad came in about 2 miles from this location, the town moved to it's current location. I'm proud to have spent many Summers and weekends in this town. Many fond memories. My grandmother used to tell of listening to Brushy Bill talk of stories.
Used to live in stephenville Texas . That was nine years ago . Tarelton university was almost in my back yard . And summer sky treatment center was two blocks away . Expensive place to live with very little good jobs . Unless you drive to Dallas or ft. Worth .
You would think so, however last time I ate there the breading was very greasy and fell off way too easy. They place isn't the same it was at its peak a few years ago.
@@CA-ff8kw, that's sad . Hopefully the food's still good at Jake and Dorothy's cafe . Last time I ate there ten years ago . The staff was rude and short tempered . The food was good though 😁
I lived in Hico and attended Tarleton State University. I also lived in Morgan Mill, TX. Only two restaurants were Jersey Lilly’s and KOffee Kup Kafe. Aka. KKK
Was at Tarleton and I remember hearing about the Koffee Kup Kafe and its relation to the KKK and how good the pie is. I also think it was around 2017 they dropped the third K to just the Koffee Kup. Wiseman is fantastic chocolate though.
The local klan hung out there until the late 90's . There was a sign that stood in the exit of town way back . That said don't let the sun set on your black @$$ .
Koffee Kup Kafe' ie KKK was the meeting place of the local chapter of the klan. It's a sundown town. I'll never visit this place and I've lived in Central Texas for 20 years!
@@CA-ff8kw, my mom used to live in proctor Texas . All most none existence when I visited ten years ago . People definitely abandoned these towns in the late 90's and early 2000's . Sad Soo much history

Awesome video! My wife is from Stephenville and some of my family members on her side of the family still live there.

That chicken fried steak and onion rings is enough reason to go visit.

I remember the Koffee Kup and the dairy barn. Crazy times back in the day there.
My grandson is a Tarleton State Alumnus and my granddaughter is a Junior there.
Lol he left that old KKK rep out of the video 😂
The kkk is the real truth of that area, especially in the 50s to the 90s

The only thing about the Coffee Cup, is when we ate their and went to pay it was cash only. I sure hope they have updated since about 8 years ago. Lol
Kafe'
Hico, sweet li’l town. Further up Highway 6 is Dublin, even cooler👍
If I remember correctly Chet’s mom is from Dublin.
So sad that Dublin has all but disappeared.

I’d like to see a visit to Alpine Texas 👍👍
They did it
Cool town!
??There are two traffic lights there just in the travel I've done from Austin to Granbury
Don't be tripping out man. But do be tripping in Texas. Farm out Man.
The KKk koffee Kup was a big let down, I have been twice and it's worse each time. I will not be going back.
The rock climbing is the way to go!!!
Sounds like my experience.
It's North Central Texas, says this native of Comanche. Which, you're right, is a clunky name with no ring to it.
Also shout out to drunk hist5ry
This was a good video.
I miss the Koffee Kup, it’s been a long while.
Same as I
Now, I know how to pronounce it😊
❤
That don't sound right.
The cartoon intro is absolutely awful! This is a travel show not a children’s show
It was hilarious 😅
Why does it feel weird seeing people ive known all my life on YT 🤣🤣🤣🥸🤣 to any other Hicoians , what up fuckers its Jake ✌️💚
FUCKIN KEVIN
