Congrats for choosing to present dishes that are the staple of french family cooking instead of more typical high-end restaurant cuisine. Regards from France!
I always prefer the "real people food" of any culture over the fancy stuff. You can’t go wrong with veggies and meat!
It's not ratatouille, ratatouille is vegetables cut into cubes, in the movie ratatouille, they don't cook ratatouille actually but some kind of tian de légumes for fancy restaurant called "Confit Byaldi"
i would not aggre only the boeuf bourguignon (french beef stew) looks homemade, the gratin dauphinois (potato gratin) looks it came out of factory even homemade looks more delicious than this and the ratatouille looks it came out of high-end restaurant lol
@@neartzim4240 there are no French cuisine restaurants in Pakistan. The channel has its own chef who tries his best recreating dishes, of course a lot of the produce and ingredients would differ from France.
@@neartzim4240 it was pot au feu not boeuf bourgugnon i'm pretty sure ;)
Cheese makes everything better... speaking of which u should try having and exotic cheese episode
Everything from the ultra processed artificial american vegtable oil cheese to the delicious blue mould goat cheeses....
I hope this "ratatouille" tastes better than it looks
french cuisine is some of the worst food i have had, also some of the best.
As a French woman, it was really interesting seeing them parsing our cuisine with their own references (curry, ghee, spices, serving stew with parota or rice, ...), and it gave me ideas for new fusion food blends ! I also really loved their appreciation, thanks for sharing this wholesome moment of cultural exchange 😊
Yes that's really cool !
"Westerners put cheese in everything" he says, as me, a westerner, is watching and eating cheese straight off the brick .
I changed my diet a few years ago. Cheese is definitely one of the foods I miss the most.
i only buy cheese if it's on sale for 50% off
the ABCs that made us human: alcohol, bread, and cheese.
@@lunacielo7680 nothing stops you from buying some from time to time
@@Picsou313 What stops me are my beliefs. But thank you.
As a Frenchman it never once crossed my mind to call Beef Bourguignon a curry even though it makes perfect sense to do so
@yoleau131Très ignare 😉
Yeah, in culinary terms, curry is pretty a type of stew, and vice versa.
I remember having lunch in Paris years ago! The food was outstanding! French cuisine is so good! I'm glad they all enjoyed these lovely dishes! Compliments to the chef! Peace and love to all! :)
Whoever is cooking these meals is a real master. I wish they introduced him or her to the viewers. It isn't easy to cook so many different cuisines and cook them all well.
@@Marty4650 i heard in a comment before that he was shown in a kind of q&a video or something different from trying food. Look through their channel and you might find it
@@Marty4650 They did introduce him quite some time ago. When they showed the layout of the house where they do the filming. He was on camera maybe 2 seconds though.
French cuisine is the basis for modern Western cuisine. Not Italian, British, Spanish, or American. French.
@@JGrowl-er9md Except modern western cousine is an amalgam of all of the above plus more. Now, if you would've said it was the basis for Western cuisine in general, I would've agreed with you...but it's changed so much for the modern palate.
Merci d'avoir pensé à nous. 😊
Salutations de France. 🔵⚪🔴
merci

I think there are 4 different recipes for Garbure in the 100kilometer circumference of my home in the 64 near Pau.
Can we have a programme that focusses on the chef and the kitchen please ?
YESSS!!!! I'd love to see and meet the chef. He really does a wonderful job. I bet he loves what he does. Such a passion.
Now you see why French cuisine is enjoyed all over the world.
The world food rankings seem to be France in 1st place, Italy in second place and spain in 3rd with greece in 4th.
@@SE-tc3cr Japan, China, India, Morocco, Korea and Vietnam are not bad either.
However, one can distinguish between food (the products) and cuisine (the way you use them).
As for France, our main advantage is regional diversity (I.E. Ratatouille is from Provence, Choucroute is from Alsace etc.) and social diversity (high cuisine comes from nobles cooks trying to earn a living after the Revolution, while traditional food comes mostly from peasants families, and both influenced each others).
Well done guys for the choice of dish but please next time put some bread on the side, cause the bourguignon beef sauce with baguette it's a game changer. It's like our own chapati or roti, you cant take a curry without same for us
3:40 He is right. French cuisine is almost always served with bread !
We do eat a lot of cheese in the west.
In olden days, it was the only way to long-term preserve milk
One of my favorite dishes is steak au poivre, beefsteak crusted with black peppercorns and served with the sauce made in the pan from the meat drippings.
I love watching Tahir talking about the medicinal and health qualities of foods.
"OH, IT'S THAT ICONIC DISH FROM THAT RAT MOVIE"
I like how they can compare to technical similar recipes from their cooking. Another thing, they eat, think and give their honest opinion. Great people! Regards from France
The Tribe has made a awesome discovery that though we come from different cultures we can easily relate in simple pleasures like food❤Peace be with you my brothers from a different mother🙏
Food and music go hand in hand. They both bring people together ❣
They are such true gentlemen. Very appreciative and open towards other cultures. Western food must be so bland for them, but they praise it nevertheless and find the good in it. Precious human beings.
The chef is really doing a great job. The ratatouille was simply elegant-lovely presentation. Well done.
@@bayamonterenaud8683 You're correct, of course. I've seen the dish called Tian Provençal, Ratatouille Tian, Layered Ratatouille, Ratatouille Casserole, just plain Ratatouille and all manner of 'summer vegetable bake/casseroles'. But we tend to play fast and loose with names-you should see what some people call Goulash.
Overall I think they do a decent job with unfamiliar cuisines. Cheers.
@@bayamonterenaud8683 C'est aussi la version très connue d'un chef. Mais c'est pas la ratatouille traditionnelle.
Oui le plaisir des yeux compte aussi!
Yep but ratatouille is not cooked in an oven . This was a vegetable "tian" that is also delicious...
Please I was born raised in Grenoble, the place were grattin dauphinois was invented and there's no cheese in it. Potatoes, cream and the secret ingredient, nutmeg, and that's all (with salt of course).
This is another awesome episode of TPT thank you.💞🥪☕💞
Hello from Barcelona, Spain 🇪🇸✨❤
The thing about making a stew is that you can get cheaper cuts of meat and they will become tender due to the long cooking time and wet cooking method.
Serving it with French bread is what is normally done.
That was not Ratatouille! ^^
Close enough I would say tho 😉
Loved their reaction to "cheese" everything.
Also, for the beef stew and the potatoes, some baguette bread to either soak the broth or make a sandwich.
Any local "fermented" dough bread with a crust should do.
No doubt that at least 2 people will comment about the thumbnail "OH, IT'S THAT ICONIC DISH FROM THAT RAT MOVIE"
Well, one anyway... ;)
No one calls ratatouille “that one rat movie” lol that’s a classic
😅😅😅😅😅
2:13 great intuition, boeuf bourguignon goes well with rice
with everything actually ^^
never saw a Ratatouille like this before, and i'm french. Maybe well prepared by a chief?
But potatoes Gratin or Ratatouille used to be acompagned with meat, alone is kind of different for try a dish.
The chef consultant Disney hired for the movie Ratatouille did it this way and now everyone does it this way lol
True, because i don’t enjoy the taste of potato gratin. Too bland and rich at the same time.
@@Suedetussy It’s to be enjoyed by people who themselves are both bland and rich lol.
@@rlt9492 😂
Gratin Dauphinois with cheddar really ? (yes i'm french)
Haha as french its a pleasure to see those reactions, we all have so differents life but the food will gather us one day
It's not ratatouille, ratatouille is vegetables cut into cubes, in the movie ratatouille, they don't cook ratatouille actually but some kind of tian de légumes for fancy restaurant called "Confit Byaldi"
True but the only difference between a tian and a ratatouille is the cutting shape and the ccoking mode (pot vs oven)
Still very close
And a tian is not "high-end stuff", it's a family dish
@@eugspitit's different because in a ratatouille the vegetables blend together much more, it's like a stew with only vegetables in a way, it's not the same as eating sliced vegetables put together
From France : Let's have a word in these comments to mention it is France' honnor to receive these positive comments from such representatives from arround the world about our cuisine.
Thank you to this channel for this surprising moment when both ends meet.
Undoubtly french cuisine has nothing more or less compared to the diversity of traditional cuisine arround this planet when a the cook is good, the people at your table are kind and the drinks flow with good mood.
Millennium of traditional cuisine didn't wait us french to make people happy.
Maybe we only have the type of cuisine that is most universal both in the basic of our daily meal and in the outstanding representation of some genious chiefs that perfect our gastronomy in top restaurants.
As a traveler, please be sure frenchs also know how to appreciate the world traditional cuisine from east to west and north to south. 👃

you forgot the baguette with the 'pot au feu' he was right it needed somthing with it
This is truly a french🍟 moment
the first two dishes are very demonstrative of French cuisine, even if prepared with some small subtleties depending on the people
ratatouille I have another memory of this dish but ca fait longtemps que j'en ai pas mangé aussi

The Ratatouille looked beautiful. I have seen that recipe and it looks like an excellent method. Now I really want to make it. The French will always have bread with meals (Roti was a good suggestion)
I am so incredibly happy they like all these dishes. Honestly, they look delicious. Very good choices indeed! Thank you so much!
As I eat a cheese sandwich while watching this, I can confirm that Westerners DO put cheese on everything!

Why am I watching Indian (?) Gimli eating french food ?
I made Ratatouille once. I want to make it again. It was wonderful.
Maybe you guys should try Ratatouille a french dish too!
Bœuf bourguignon is a kind of curry ! That is so true

ratatouille i eat usually don't look this well-dressed

Did you cook French Beef Stew with Red wine ?
This Ratatouille looks really weird!!
Are they aware they ate beef ? like cow ?
I was really hoping they would serve Escargot.🐌
Or Foie Gras 🤮
love it !!🤩🤪
A ratatouille burger is a great idea. A beef burger with a topping of cooked vegetables as a layer that adds flavour and moisture. The Mr. Chaudhary Burger, with oninons, tomato, bell peppers, aburgine and zuchini turned into a thick sauce or condiment. Some garlic, chilies and herbs. That could make for a really good burger.

Chaudary was hesitant? That's a first I think.
I am waiting to see if they get steak tartar. Probably not.
ratatouille is a very good dish but they dont seem to like it. I wonder what the chef did to it because it is very well received the world over. The ratatouille presentation is nice, but I am not sure the eggplant Is really cooked and would taste bitter. I doubt that Cooked eggplant would stand up on its side like that.
Weird commentary, they really appreciated ratatouille.

No Steak Tartar, I'm kind of bummed lol.☹️ I wanted to see their faces.
Pakistan bacterial and parasite sanitary standards doesn't allow to eat raw beef meat safely, that's also why you can't make steak tartare with most of american ground beef. And as a French guy I wouldn't eat raw beef coming from supermarkets, only from reputable butchers.
Something I always thought about was how people who don't eat pork are missing out on so many delicious dishes.but if that's what they choose it's fine.

as a french i must scream it at loud once and for all: WE DO NOT USE CHEESE IN POTATO GRATIN !!!!!!!!!!!!
Really? And I thought that melted cheese on top was the defining feature of a gratin... Time to google!
Well, I googled and found numerous examples of French gratin dishes with cheese. For example Gratin Dauphinois.
