    Now they know why Chinese food is loved all over the world. Great idea!
    I was a very picky eater as a kid - ok I still am, LOL - but I LOVED fried rice. So whenever we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant, my parents would simply get me an order of fried rice. I branched out into more dishes as I got older. 😄 That was one of the restaurants I grew up going to, and everyone there treated me like their favorite niece. Wonderful place.
    If they drink broth, they've got the start of soup. Like a curry, you can add almost anything to the broth. Leftover bits of meat, noodles, and any vegetables. Dice it up, toss it in and let everything simmer in the broth until tender. It can be a lot fancier, but that's the basics. Thick soup *is* wonderful in cold weather. Someone needs to give them spoons. 😊

    I ate my first chinese meal when I was 18 years old. I remember thinking how different chinese food looked, smelled and tasted from what I had eaten all my life, but it's flavors were delicious. There's a new restaurant trend in Canada called "Hakka Chinese" which is essentially Indian/Pakistani/Chinese fusion... I don't know if other countries have this yet (I was living in the USA and never heard of it). Would be interesting to see their reaction to some of the dishes, if you can track it down.

    • @yellowsweatygorilla
      @yellowsweatygorilla 8 месяцев назад +4

      Not a new trend. Hakka restaurants emerged in Canada in the late 60s as a part of the refugee movement during the Sino-Indian War, with Chinese-Indians moving to Canada. The Chinese community in India at the time were predominantly of the Hakka ethnic group, hence why 'Hakka' restaurants in Canada tend to be a mixture between S. Asian and Hakkanese cuisine. It's very different from Hakka food found in China or Hong Kong

    This may be an odd thought, but if these guys ever came to Houston - which is becoming renowned for its global and fusion cuisines - they could try everything from Cajun and traditional Texas and Mexican cuisine (from different regions) to excellent Vietnamese, Chinese (including Szechuan which can rip your face off with chilies), Japanese (fish is flown in from Tokyo), French, Italian and classic American fare (I am biased toward Texas steak admittedly). Viet-Cajun is especially popular. Real Texas BBQ would blow their minds. We even have good Pakistani food. They could perhaps see a big ranch or go to the coast and eat a wide range of seafood.

    I love watching these gentlemen and their friends experiencing different foods... this one was great as I love Chinese food even though I am in the US. These fellows are so entertaining. As I watch it occurred to me that people all over the world be much more peaceable and happy if could just down to table and enjoy each others' food and conversation ... perhaps some day let us hope..

    Great video! When you have found a place that sells great Chinese food, you simply crave it. Chinese food for me is a treat when I’ve just got paid lol 😂

    Theres a Chinese dish I I up wih my family making. The funny thing is its not from China its from the midwest. It was created by a Chinese guy in America due in the late 1940s. He fled from China with his family and worked in a restaurant in my town. One day he was making himself dinner but couldn't get the ingredients he needed because America didn't make them and it was hard to find Chinese ingredients where he lived. So he created something spot of like the traditional dish and his co-workers tried it and loved it. They started making it and more and more people loved it. Eventually the man opened his own Chinese food restaurant and it became a state heritage dish. Mr liangs Springfield style cashew chicken. It's fairly easy to make too. It's batter dipped chicken peices fried up put on top of a bed of white rice then covered with a sauce made of chicken stock oyster sauce,soy sauce and a bit of sugar. Then you put chopped green onions on the chicken pournon the sauce then sprinkle chopped cashews on top. Pm its so good. I grew up eating that.but I also grew up eating good Urgent Chinese food from places I lived. Large Asian community.

    Time to make these young men some soups. Broccoli Cheddar, Baked Potato soup, egg drop soup, any type of chowder, minestrone, chicken noodle soup, lentil soup, French onion, beef and barley, chicken and rice, split pea, cream of mushroom, miso soup, bean soup, gumbo, pumpkin, borscht, Hungarian goulash (make the Hungarian Variety, not the American type recipe on RUclips's Food Wishes), vegetable. You can make the cream soups and serve them in bread bowls. Make a small round bread, cut off the top and take out some of the bread inside. Put the soup in just before serving. As you eat, you pull off some of the bread and dip it into the soup. So good!

    Mr Chaudry would have loved sweet and sour chicken or king prawn if they had it. Here in the UK we love sweet and sour, chicken chow mein, salt and pepper ribs. We can't get enough of it!
