Always found it interesting that Nintendo took characters from essentially a non-Mario game, like Super Mario bros. 2 (since it was originally doki doki panic) and transferred them over to later Mario games.
they technically own the rights to those characters, because they created them
Shy guy, Bomb-omb, Poki, Ninji, Sift-fit and Birdo
He is one of those characters you look at and know he is there
But then forget about him in 10 seconds
Ninjis are life and they're very underrated.
I think Ninjis should start appearing in Mario games more, both Mainstream and Spinoff.

The more well known SMB2 is a recolor because Japan doubted the ability of at least American (their name for this version is SMB2 USA) players and thought they would be unable to beat their SMB2 aka "Lost Levels".
