So I've been playing guitar for 17 years. I have no idea how I have missed this amp until just now. This thing has fantastic tone, and the midi capabilities will make it work very well with my helix! Might have to put some extra money away each week to pick this guy up!

I've always loved H & K. I just ordered a TM18 head. This review is the best sounding amp I've ever heard but it's way more amp than I would ever need, lol. What a monster player, too. Wow
Great guitarist for many styles in their own right! The amp is a huge help too! I have been a H & K guy since 2007 and still am! So many configurations viaMIDI and without too! I use 4 different gutiars to get all my tones, this amp is definitely my next amp! It will talk to all my others!! and I can get MY TONEin there too! Thanks H & K! You did it again!! now for my H & K cabs........ :-D
That's great to hear! Yes, if you have a bunch of different sounds you need to get at the highest quality possible, then TriAmp should be right up your street. Please let us know your thoughts when you've picked it up, we're interested to hear how it works for you :)
This amp is truly the pinnacle of what's out on the market right now. Hopefully this will be the next step for me in my tone chase. I've had my Switchblade since 2013 as my first tube head and never let it go. I hope to be able to afford one of these one day.
As a student, I don't have any money for even your lowest range of tube amps, but I have to commend you guys on great amps and great customer service. When I get enough money to get a lower end tube amp, you guys will be at the top of my list.
5:40 Rich Saturated Lead is astonishing. This amp seems incredible. Such a wide variety of tones, a noise gate, 6 channels and so much more to really develop your own sound. I have a Marshall JVM410H and I love it, but after seeing this...I'm going to look into a Hughes and Kettner. Never thought there'd be a day I'd say that.
Cheers Thomas! Ha ha, there are many guitarists out there in the same boat as you, we hope ;) Give us some feedback when you try the TriAmp for yourself, we'd love to know if it matches up to your JVM :)
Thomas Benjamin did you ever try the Hughes & Kettner. I have the JVM410H also and this sounds amazing but then again he is using FX which is going to make it sound better and backing music. I notice it doesn't have Reverb and I hear lots of Reverb and delay.
Curt Parker I haven't. None of the stores that I've been to have it in stock. I am wanting a noise gate on my amp and the JVM410H doesn't have that. However, the Joe Satriani model does. I'm still wanting to play through this so I can really compare the two. At $4000 it better br better than any amp on the market.
Curt Parker I would assume because they are expensive amps and probably wouldn't sell many. Either way I'll probably sell or trade in my Marshall for another amp. Whether that be a JS model or a Hughes and Kettner. Some places offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you don't like it you can take it back. I did that with a cheaper Marshall once.
Hi! I just purchased a Triamp from Gearnuts in Indiana USA. I received a FSM-432 in a TSM box inside the package. The seller is telling me the manufacturer (you) discontinued the TSM and replaced with the FSM. Can you confirm that is correct? I plugged in the FSM and in stompox mode it will not actuate all 6 channels…
I just got done crapping on the Grandmeister 36 for being $1200 and made-in-China and then I stumble on this incredible sounding beast. What an awesome sounding head!
Dios mío aún siguen fabricando este amplificador en Alemania 🇩🇪... lo tengo que comprar aunque me cueste la vida ... solo quiero que sigan contribuyendo amo este amplificador😍🤩❤️💙...
Wow!! I wasn't initially impressed with it, but each time I come back to it, I am blown away how awesome this beast sounds. Now this amp is truly versatile. How can H&K make this thing so costly? I hope they'll come out with 3 or 4 channel version and have the price below $2,700. This will make more sense. and NO I already looked at the GrandMeister 36. I want all the channels to be separated like this only with 100w.
+Heu T Glad you like the amp Heu, and thanks for the comments re: a possible 3/4 channel version. We've passed your thoughts on to our engineers/developers - let's see if they can take up the challenge! ;)
Nice to see a good demo on here theres so many that don't do this amp justic. I think this could be the future. Love the 60s british clean very good tone. Fenders been good to me but I'm thinking I need more power.
Hughes & Kettner Not sure how many musicans realize this but a good clean tone is the foundation to amazing sound. I've been really needing something versatile I'm all about versatility, with this amp you don't need pedals, its really an all in one and it shows. It does it well and with plenty of power. Excellent job paying homage to the history or music past present and future. All I can say is send me one! I think you may of won me over from Fender and Mesa. Seriously!
If you've not got a great clean, nothing is going to sound good! Even amps for metal players should (in our opinion!) have an awesome clean channel too. With the TriAmp you get the best of all worlds :) And if we can win players like you over from names like that, job done ;)
Este é o amplificador dos meus sonhos. Eu uso um Attax 50 há uns 15 anos e está perfeito. Gravo todos os vídeos do meu canal do RUclips com o Attax 50 da Hughes & Kettner. Vcs estão de parabéns! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for the kind words! We checked out your channel and loved your playing :) And of course the Attax sounds great, even after 15 years! We hope one day a TriAmp will find its way into your life! Rock on, Team H&K in Germany
Hi there, love the video. Great sounds and great playing. Just out of curiosity: how much processing did these sounds go through before we hear them? Thanks so much, Alex
Hi there! We asked Gundy (who produced this too) to do as little as possible to the recorded tracks... So the typical mixdown compression, EQing, etc., but nothing else!
Was brand loyal for many years to one brand and a few years ago moved to another for issues not worth getting into here, but after seeing this video, I am thinking this could have been my new brand to switch to, but had never seen this amp at any music store in South Africa. :( Looks like a great amp, well done to the team that developed it!
Interesting Ian! And hmm, it's true we're not quite where we'd want to be in South Africa yet. We need more stores! Oh dear. I actually buy most from them, and they have none in any of their Cape Town stores that I am aware of. Thanks for getting back to me. I will chase them up when I have finished recording the current album and hopefully they can help me out.
Great video by Gundy. I still have questions regarding the power amp configuration. If I want to play the amp with a 120W 2x12 cab, what are the optimum settings to use? The wattage chart on the website with regards to THD is somewhat confusing. ***NOTE: This is a repost from the second tech tutorial video.
Hughes & Kettner yess! It's pretty versatile, I can use it with almost every genre I play with!! And with that amp, it must be interesting what tones you can get with it too!
These amps Pure tone ,Zentar, WarpX by hughes&Kettner around 2004or2005 &2006- I started to buy The Pure tone & warpx but was not quite sold on them at the time so I went for the Peavey XXX& PeaveyXL I was happy at the time But I still thought about the Triamp by Hughes&Kettner great amplication was coming back at that time from hybrid and Tube amps there also was some flops who's names I won't mention I wasn't quite sold on all hybrid amps!
That's Gundy trying to sound like Santana on Channel 3A :) He's got his Suhr Strat-type guitar on the bridge humbucker, gain all the way up, bass all the way up, mids at about 11 o'clock, treble at about 3 o'clock and the Boost is on. The Presence is at 2 o'clock, the Resonance at 12 o'clock, and the Master for the channel is at about 2 o'clock...
I really like that HK is responding on to the feedback here and the other video -and being cool even when one lone dude is doin the 'meh" thing. This amp is on the verge of getting my serious interest. Need to find one in Oregon....
Russ Wilson Thanks for the kind words, Russ. We do always try our best on here, even when we get the 'meh' stuff! Why not try asking Yorkville, our USA distributors, where the closest H&K amps are to you? Here are their contact details: Yorkville Sound, Inc 4625 Witmer Industrial Estates 14305 Niagara Falls Tel.: +1 7162972920 hk.usa@yorkville.com www.yorkville.com Hope this helps, and that you can get to try a TriAmp soon!

I'm near Charleston, sc and that was the closest Triamp MkIII brand new to me. So now I get to wait another several days again. I'm about to die (and I have two custom built tube amps, an Axe FX III, a Line 6 Helix, and a Kemper Stage. LoL!!!)
@@willmims3859 Oh no, we're sorry to hear that Will! Well hopefully it'll make its way down to you as soon as possible, and once you get it you'll be more than happy. That's quite the family of tone generating machines you have there... the TriAmp is going to feel right at home! Stick the Axe-FX or the Helix through the TriAmp for FX and you'll have a rig that's the best of both worlds, and that can make every guitar sound ever! Team H&K
@@HughesandKettneramps Accidents happen! She'll be here later this week! I've already built a preset template for FX only in Helix and the Axe with multiple scenes. I'll just have to add the correct midi commands for the channel changes on each scene. Each preset will have 4 scenes and 4 stomps for turning effects on/off for each channel I use on the Triamp. Or I may change channels with the Triamp pedal and have 8 stomp mode on the modelers like a virtual effects pedal board.
@@willmims3859 Sounds amazing! Both those methods will be killer, and you'll have ultimate flexibility alongside some of the greatest base tube tones in the world. We're actually a bit jealous ;) Let us know your thoughts once you get the amp and you've had a chance to hook it all up and give it a blast!
Cheers Roberto, and yes, we take your point. TriAmp is indeed premium priced! But we'd say you'd be pushed to find three 2-channel amps of that quality for the price, and with TriAmp it's a one-box solution! Of course, it's a pretty big and heavy box too, but you get the point ;) Actually, that's kind of why TriAmp is a great studio amp. Any band around can find their sound in it for pro-level recorded tones! Rock on, Team H&K

i'm simply stunned .... the new amps just kick ass ... damn ... i'm sorry for the feature wishes but have you ever thought about leds in the frontpanel that change the color ? i mean that amps sounds can fit into every genre i think, but i think some players would love that feature, so that the classic rocker can feel home with a dark yellow or orange ... and the deathmetal player with a red and so on ... well i think it is a small addition but i bet many would love this ^^ and appearance and color can change somebodys perception quite a bit ... and a redbox that can store irs ? THAT would be the absolute killer i think, it would totall kill all fractals and kempers because no need of a cab + favorite ir in the amp, since amt brought out the pangaea i think it is even possible in a small form factor ... i almost feel guilty for adding even more feature wishes but no new amps are so feature packed and up to date than the hughes and kettner amps and at the moment i sell my other stuff and go only by kettner stuff because i hope that here are even more innovations coming. guys your new line totally kicks ass
Cool ideas, and thanks so much for your positive feedback! One of the ideas you mention we already have - you can change the colors of the Mark 3's front panel with MIDI (watch from 16:31!): ruclips.net/video/cmtSTC4ZVuA/видео.html More ideas about the Red Box and IRs are in our minds already. We're thinking about stuff like that, mic placement, etc. Would be cool, so hopefully one day our magic R&D engineers can come up with something in this direction! Maybe the TriAmp Mark 4, whenever it is ready...

Hughes & Kettner amazing! haha you guys deliver innovations faster as i can dream of them xD
Hughes & Kettner Probably one the best all around amp videos AND guitarists I've ever watched. Actually just ordered the GM36 and can't wait for it to come :)
It can go in that direction for sure! Channel 3A was intended to nail that 90s USA metal sound, so it'll do Soldano ballpark, 5150 ballpark, Mesa ballpark, etc...
+Julien777WH Thanks! Hmm, we thinkk Gundy's using the pickups that come with the Suhr as standard, and all his FX here came from his BOSS GT-10 multiu-FX processor... He plays many more cool examples with it (and explains it more) in our second TriAmp Mark 3 video here: ruclips.net/video/cmtSTC4ZVuA/видео.html
+Hughes & Kettner Thanks a lot for your reply! Last question : I've read many times that FX processor like the Boss GT-10 and others kind of "ruin" tube amp like Triamp MK 3. Wrong if I refer to what you just explained...?
It depends Julien. It's all a matter of opinion really. For us, we're happy to us processors for some things like delays, etc. But for natural overdrive sounds it's all about the tubes! :) The bottom line is: if you like the sounds you make, be it with tubes or pricessors, or both, then that's the most important thing!
Pure Magic. What a show !! Everything from the top shelf : wonderful guitars, great ! guitarist and surely THE Perfect amp. Wonder if it would have been so much fun making sounds only with a Mex Standard Tele. And, what speakers in the cab ? Not V30 or Greenbacks ? ( Just guessing )
legebakken1 Thanks a lot! FYI, we played it a lot through a standard Mex Tele before we shot this, and it worked great - we just thought the video required some top class guitars that kind of matched the amp's budget more ;) The new cab has RockDriver speakers in it, by the way...
nickveekens Depends - the Stomp Boost is intelligent, and does different things based on what channel you're on and what settings you have dialled in. Basically, it's just like turning up to 11 whenever you need it, whatever you need it for ;) There's a bit more info in the manual, here, if you fancy a read: hughes-and-kettner.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/TriAmp_Mark_3_Manual_1_0b_E-D.pdf
Dear Hughes & Kettner team, I've a yet another set of questions: 1. Can the new TriAmp be used for silent recording? In essence, from what I believe, deselecting a pair of tubes puts them in standby mode (because the T.S.C. display on the back registers them as inactive, yet a quick switch even while playing is possible, as per the Sweetwater review). 2. Does this mean that deselecting all three pairs of power tubes is the same as putting the amp into standby mode? Edit: does a speaker load have to be connected at all times, even if all three pairs of power tubes are deselected (this is not stated in the manual)? 3. If this is the case, then where is the Red Box Ambiance Emulation placed in the circuitry (i.e. before or after the power amp/s) and what controls its volume output (or does it have one set volume)? Thank you in advance.
Hi Ilya. OK, so in answer to your questions: 1. Swicthing tubes while playing is possible. Silent recording is only possible with an additional power soak - the amp always needs a load. 2. You cannot deselect all 3 pairs, as one pair is always (and must always be) active. 3. The Red Box takes the signal from the speaker output (like the external Red Box that is connected in between amp and speaker), so the master volume determines the level of the Red Box. Hope this helps!
Klasse!
RIfeynmanQED Wow, vielen Dank! Das ehrt uns sehr! Übrigens eine sehr gute Idee, der TriAmp eignet sich wunderbar als Geburtstagsgeschenk. Wir sind hier schon alle sehr gespannt auf dein Clapton/Slayer Crossover ;-)!
Edward Trevino Right, so Gundy was using two different Mics: Shure SM 57 + Sennheiser MD 441 (either one or the other) plus a blend of the Red Box. Most of the time he had 50% of Red Box in the mix with either one of the two mics...
I've been using a Mk 2 as a home amp for years. The master volume works brilliantly. Just use a proper 4x12 to get the low end to huff properly and 100watt heads make the best bedroom amps.
If you go to 4:19 and maximize the size of the image you can make out the settings - Channel 2B with the first two pairs of power tubes active :) Try that!
+Hughes & Kettner im terribly sorry i meant ordered the mk2 i don't have it yet i got one used off guitar center online i didn't specify why i was asking! i cant wait to play mine lol I'm confident it'll be worth trading my Bogner
@Ashley Simons, we can't seem to reply directly to you :( But, the answers are (a) in the next couple of weeks (you can ask JHS, or UK distributor, exactly which stores will have them in: www.jhs.co.uk) and (b) afraid not - the iPad interactivity is currently only avialable on the GrandMeister...
Hughes & Kettner Thanks for the reply. I been looking at the GrandMeister 36 online and love the fact you can connect your iPad to it. I still need to try one these bad boys in music shop, but I'm looking for a versatile amp which has 80s kinda guitar solo for the lead. Such as Steve Via, Whitesnake and Slash kinda sound with a nice clean sound for gentle songs and funk music. Any recommendation or advice?
Ashley Simons Yep, it's an awesome feature and even wireless now if you buy the WMI-1 interface. The GrandMeister can handle those 80s leads no problem, so you need to try one for yourself! The TriAmp's Channel 2B is also perfect for that, but you've got no iPad connectivity... Hmm, if you want to sound like Slash, he has his own signature amp, but it's not made by us ;)
Das ist fricken ausgezeichtnet. !!! I have had a Mk 2 since about 2002. Did you put a fan in the Mk 3 ? Cos m,y tech loves me and my amp, cos I have to take it in every year to get the dry solders fixed. I still love it though, even though the effects loop and Red Box have shit the bed. Nothing can touch my Triamp for tone.
Ha ha, cool! No, we didn't put a fan in the Mark 3, but the evolution of the design and the build and the tech means it should stand up to a lot more brutal punishment! Keep on rocking that MKII \m/
Yeah, my amp is just so packed full of stuff, it gets quite hot. A fan would be an asset. As I said, I love the tones. My wife has made it clear that if I sell it, we get divorced. It was my first tube amp, and I could never work out why people seemed to have so much trouble getting good tone. Eventually, as I played more amps, I realised that I had a secret weapon they did not have access to. Mine had 6L6 glass in it when I got it, and I have always run that, and it always blows people away with how it sounds. I now it was designed to run EL34, but the 6L6 is the shizzle. It just sounds massive through the Greenback quad it came with too, even at low volume. @@HughesandKettneramps
Ha ha, that's the thing - if it was your first amp you would have never known the tonal struggles of your peers! 6L6 and EL34 and pretty much interchangeable, so no worries there. Your wife is clearly talking sense too! The one thing we'd suggest, then is running a standard desktop fan behind the amp, pointed at the hottest parts. Or you could even consider integrating the amp into a rack that utilizes a cooling system, but that's a significant job/cost operation...
I'd hate to have to replace a full set of tubes for this... although, I guess if you can afford the amp, you can probably keep an extra few hundred 12ax7's. I'm not hating on the thing, I'd LOVE to own one, but I couldn't justify it... unless someone wants to just buy all of my gear & all but one of my guitars.
My next amp (in my dreams lol) How many knobs does one guitarist need though?! Sounds lovely. (pS H & K my Attax 100 has finally died after 18 years service, could I get one of these on trial? :-))
Great video, great sounding amp. That said: 7:40 "Hey I'm gonna try my take on modern prog metal" 7:50 "See this aint so bad" 7:55 "What is rhythm??" 8:00 Right hand "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME??!" 8:08 "Dear God, I think I just shat"
Almost everything! Firstly, all the sounds were massively updated (new preamp design and everything), and there's all the newer technology (like updated Red Box) on the back... And the new one has the cool things like the ability to switch in and out different power tubes at will, etc...
My Mk 3 is on its way! : ) Question for H&K...I'm thinking of going for the 2x12 with V30's for various reasons. How would the V30's compare to the Rock drivers tonally?
Hey Pete, congrats on your TriAmp purchase - we hope you love it! About the speakers, what it's important to say hear is that whatever sounds better to you will be the best option. So try both first if you can. Now, we had the RockDrivers custom made and tweaked to sound great with the Mark 3 - so if you get the accompanying cab, you'll certainly enjoy the sounds you get. However, many guitarists we know swear by V30s, and they will sound great too. The bigger difference you'll notice will come from the size of the cab: a 2x12 simply won't have the massive low-end oomph a 4x12 will give you, regardless of what speakers are inside. There are positives and negatives about both cab sizes, of cours, but again it's a personal preference thing for most players. (And of course the kind of music you play will also dictate the sounds you need, etc., etc...) One more point: if you're going to try a 2x12, our TM212s are kitted out with V30s, and are the bomb: hughes-and-kettner.com/products/cabinets/tm212/ We hope this is a bit of food for thought for you, and do let us know what you decide to go for in the end. Would be interesting for us to hear what you prefer! :)
Thanks for your reply. Low end isn't a priority for me as I'm mainly in to prog rock.I'm looking for projection and smoothness really, I try to avoid 'fizzy' tones. I probably would go for the H&K 2x12. Is this a closed back cab? Thanks again, Pete.
I have this amp and I’m just surprised how few videos are actually out there on how to use it and dial in those tones. I have Bias Fx2 and use it on the iPad thru the fx loop. Is there a community of Triamp 3 owners on forum anywhere? @@HughesandKettneramps

I love this amp and can't wait to get my hands and numerous guitars on it.
I've always loved H & K. I just ordered a TM18 head. This review is the best sounding amp I've ever heard but it's way more amp than I would ever need, lol. What a monster player, too. Wow
Cheers r s! Yeah, Gundy was in true Beast Mode for this video, he's an awesome player. Enjoy your TM18!
You did it again!! now for my
H & K cabs........
Thanks for the kind words almondlowe, and we hope that day is not too far away for you :)
Fantastic amp, player and demo. Great job round trip!!!
Thanks Brent!
Now this is a killer demo!!
Great player, able to accentuate great examples of everywhere this mighty amp can go!!
Thomas Benjamin running in to the exact same thing. No one has it in stock and no one has the JS in stock either.
A spectacular amp for all styles of music, demoed by a spectacular guitarist who can play all styles of music, awesome
What an outstanding player
Well, I gotta save up for one of these, amazing. Is it possible to have 3 different pairs of tubes like 2 X EL34s 2 X 6L6s and 2 X KT88s?
I just got done crapping on the Grandmeister 36 for being $1200 and made-in-China and then I stumble on this incredible sounding beast. What an awesome sounding head!
DreaminginWaves Ha ha, thanks... we think ;) But yes, this is a totally different beast to the GrandMeister! Glad you like the sound of this one...
We've passed your thoughts on to our engineers/developers - let's see if they can take up the challenge! ;)
holy jesus, this sounds AMAZING.
Nice to see a good demo on here theres so many that don't do this amp justic. I think this could be the future. Love the 60s british clean very good tone. Fenders been good to me but I'm thinking I need more power.
Thanks Cody, and yes, if you need more clean power, the TriAmp Mark 3 might just have all you need :)
When is this on sale in the UK?
Also can you use your iPad with the head ?
Este é o amplificador dos meus sonhos. Eu uso um Attax 50 há uns 15 anos e está perfeito. Gravo todos os vídeos do meu canal do RUclips com o Attax 50 da Hughes & Kettner. Vcs estão de parabéns! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for the kind words! We checked out your channel and loved your playing :) And of course the Attax sounds great, even after 15 years! We hope one day a TriAmp will find its way into your life!

Thank you my friends ! Gog bless you !
I think I found my new dream amp! Also, 7:47 channel 3B is the main setting that I will use if or when I get the amp
Thanks a lot - Greetings from the team
Bad-Ass!! Nothing more inspiring than a great tone, and to have multiples in one head....I want that amp!
...Looks F'n cool too!
1:56 at this moment I thought he is going to play Wonderwall
Ha ha, it's close, that's for sure ;)
Hi there, love the video. Great sounds and great playing. Just out of curiosity: how much processing did these sounds go through before we hear them? Thanks so much,
Alex
Hi there! We asked Gundy (who produced this too) to do as little as possible to the recorded tracks... So the typical mixdown compression, EQing, etc., but nothing else!
nice playing - I need this Amp
I'm awaiting delivery...
Tell you what, try calling our SA distributors, they'll be able to let you know where there might be a TriAmp near you:

Oh dear. I actually buy most from them, and they have none in any of their Cape Town stores that I am aware of. Thanks for getting back to me. I will chase them up when I have finished recording the current album and hopefully they can help me out.
No worries. Yeah, for something like this you would hope they'd be able to get one in for you specially! Hassle them and hopefully it'll work.
I'm even a fan of the kind of music, but this can Djent like a boss.
Have mine ordered! super looking forward to it!
thats what i called a great promo video
thanks a lot - we will move on this way!
Thus amp is too cool for words
Great video by Gundy. I still have questions regarding the power amp configuration. If I want to play the amp with a 120W 2x12 cab, what are the optimum settings to use? The wattage chart on the website with regards to THD is somewhat confusing.
***NOTE: This is a repost from the second tech tutorial video.
Ok this looks and sounds fantastic! I'm only missing one feature which is a power soak. Would be awesome if this will be included in a Mark 4!
Thanks for the feedback Peter. Yep, sometimes the Mark 3 does get a little loud when you're cooking all the tubes at 150 watts ;)
got to have that model too.
When he uses the same guitar I have, it pretty much helps on making a decision
Cool - which of these guitars do you have?
Hughes & Kettner gretsch Stump-O-Matic, Patric Stump's signature, it's such a good guitar to own
It is, we were surprised how versatile it can be! It's an awesome guitar.
Hughes & Kettner yess! It's pretty versatile, I can use it with almost every genre I play with!! And with that amp, it must be interesting what tones you can get with it too!
It certainly is! With that guitar and this amp, there's practically no genre or style you can't play :)
Hope mine makes it this week after the Yorkville invoice/customs frack up!!!
Great amp, thinking to buy one ! But how does he get the rich saturated lead settings? Sound amazing
That's Gundy trying to sound like Santana on Channel 3A :) He's got his Suhr Strat-type guitar on the bridge humbucker, gain all the way up, bass all the way up, mids at about 11 o'clock, treble at about 3 o'clock and the Boost is on. The Presence is at 2 o'clock, the Resonance at 12 o'clock, and the Master for the channel is at about 2 o'clock...
yeah like santana vai satriani...
Here are their contact details:

@@HughesandKettneramps mine's hung up in Ontario Canada because someone in that regional warehouse left out copies of the dang commercial invoice... Dohhhh.
Man what a killer amp, and I'm pretty sure that's a Eric Johnson strat !
hello Jimmy great demo in dept info and excellent playing.
Great Job well done...
Was this the raw head and Cab sound without EQ or anything in the Signal chain of recording?
CLELDKFKEJ The 'naked' sounds, yes - on some you can hear that Gundy added reverbs, etc.
Very good video, and extremely in depth!
Wish I had enough money to buy one myself. Oh, well, time to pester Dad
Awesome to have 6 different channels, but that magnificent amp also costs the same as 3 2-channel valve amps
Rock on,
Team H&K
i'm simply stunned .... the new amps just kick ass ... damn ... i'm sorry for the feature wishes but have you ever thought about leds in the frontpanel that change the color ? i mean that amps sounds can fit into every genre i think, but i think some players would love that feature, so that the classic rocker can feel home with a dark yellow or orange ... and the deathmetal player with a red and so on ... well i think it is a small addition but i bet many would love this ^^ and appearance and color can change somebodys perception quite a bit ... and a redbox that can store irs ? THAT would be the absolute killer i think, it would totall kill all fractals and kempers because no need of a cab + favorite ir in the amp, since amt brought out the pangaea i think it is even possible in a small form factor ... i almost feel guilty for adding even more feature wishes but no new amps are so feature packed and up to date than the hughes and kettner amps and at the moment i sell my other stuff and go only by kettner stuff because i hope that here are even more innovations coming. guys your new line totally kicks ass
Cool ideas, and thanks so much for your positive feedback! One of the ideas you mention we already have - you can change the colors of the Mark 3's front panel with MIDI (watch from 16:31!): ruclips.net/video/cmtSTC4ZVuA/видео.html
More ideas about the Red Box and IRs are in our minds already. We're thinking about stuff like that, mic placement, etc. Would be cool, so hopefully one day our magic R&D engineers can come up with something in this direction! Maybe the TriAmp Mark 4, whenever it is ready...
Hughes & Kettner amazing! haha you guys deliver innovations faster as i can dream of them xD
;)
Hughes & Kettner Probably one the best all around amp videos AND guitarists I've ever watched. Actually just ordered the GM36 and can't wait for it to come :)
I want this amp
Duuuuude... This guy plys every style better than people specialized in their genre playing only that 😱😱
Yeah, Gundy's pretty awesome!
Gundy is a real monster player. Just great man.
Is the 3A channel like Soldano SLO100? Or could someone give their best guess?
It can go in that direction for sure! Channel 3A was intended to nail that 90s USA metal sound, so it'll do Soldano ballpark, 5150 ballpark, Mesa ballpark, etc...
wonderful playing! 05:42 channel 3a, what pickups used for this beautiful tone? and effects? same question tone 10:15thanks a lot!
The bottom line is: if you like the sounds you make, be it with tubes or pricessors, or both, then that's the most important thing!
Thiiiiis might be what I need for the channel so I don't have to change amps for demos all the time.
Hello!
From 5:00, what are you playing?
Just wondering, how many decibels does the boost function add to the Original sound?
nickveekens Depends - the Stomp Boost is intelligent, and does different things based on what channel you're on and what settings you have dialled in. Basically, it's just like turning up to 11 whenever you need it, whatever you need it for ;)
There's a bit more info in the manual, here, if you fancy a read: hughes-and-kettner.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/TriAmp_Mark_3_Manual_1_0b_E-D.pdf
what a player i'm stocked!
Dude channel 3B rocks
***** lol
Dear Hughes & Kettner team, I've a yet another set of questions:
Hi Ilya. OK, so in answer to your questions:
Hughes & Kettner thank you very much!
No worries!
Klasse!
RIfeynmanQED Wow, vielen Dank! Das ehrt uns sehr! Übrigens eine sehr gute Idee, der TriAmp eignet sich wunderbar als Geburtstagsgeschenk. Wir sind hier schon alle sehr gespannt auf dein Clapton/Slayer Crossover ;-)!
The music at 2:11 - is that a song already? If not, it should be!!! OMG I loved it
It's just something Gundy made for this video, as far as we know ;)
Sounds a little like limelight by rush. I know it’s not really the same, but I immediately thought of that song when I heard it.
What mic and signal path are you using for this demo? Sounds incredible!
Edward Trevino Thanks! We'll ask Gundy exactly what he used and let you know if he chooses to reveal his secrets...
Edward Trevino Right, so Gundy was using two different Mics: Shure SM 57 + Sennheiser MD 441 (either one or the other) plus a blend of the Red Box. Most of the time he had 50% of Red Box in the mix with either one of the two mics...
Hughes & Kettner Right on! Thanks for the info. Really amazing sound!!!
No worries, and thanks again!
Hi! Sehr schmackhaft präsentiert ;) Ich würde ja gerne mal die High-Gain Kanäle mit dem eingebauten Boost hören....
Danke sehr - soon we hope to make some more detailed videos for each channel, including the High Gain ones!
The only thing it needs now is a switch to cut the watts for practice around the house?
sctses Yep, that would've been killer, but we just couldn't fit it in here. On the wishlist for next time though... ;)
sctses and a price cut lol. I'd buy one if I didn't have to sell a kidney for it!
I've been using a Mk 2 as a home amp for years. The master volume works brilliantly. Just use a proper 4x12 to get the low end to huff properly and 100watt heads make the best bedroom amps.
this just sounds sooooo great !!!!!!!!! cant wait to get this, AMP WOW !!!!
Dude is like a guitar Jedi uses the force at the end of the riff is insane
If I only use Tubes 1&2, will i only get one-third of the power (50 Watts)?
It's not as exact as that, but basically, yes! Then add in two more tubes for about 100 watts, and all six is your full 150!
At 4:11 that’s the tone I rlly want also what were the settings on the amps
If you go to 4:19 and maximize the size of the image you can make out the settings - Channel 2B with the first two pairs of power tubes active :) Try that!
That looks awesome!
i have the mark 2 does that have a killer high gain setting like brown sound high? i know it has a high gain setting but how powerful
+Eric Bee Yep, the MKII can also do brown sound, no problem!
+Hughes & Kettner im terribly sorry i meant ordered the mk2 i don't have it yet i got one used off guitar center online i didn't specify why i was asking! i cant wait to play mine lol I'm confident it'll be worth trading my Bogner
+Eric Bee Aha, no worries! :) We hope it'll be worth it too!
Hmm, if you want to sound like Slash, he has his own signature amp, but it's not made by us ;)
If this does ac50 where can I get one?
What les Paul is around 9:00?
I'd hate to have to replace a full set of tubes for this... although, I guess if you can afford the amp, you can probably keep an extra few hundred 12ax7's. I'm not hating on the thing, I'd LOVE to own one, but I couldn't justify it... unless someone wants to just buy all of my gear & all but one of my guitars.
My next amp (in my dreams lol) How many knobs does one guitarist need though?! Sounds lovely. (pS H & K my Attax 100 has finally died after 18 years service, could I get one of these on trial? :-))
My Attax 80 died after 15 years... Not bad! A great Grandmeister replaced it at home. Highly recommended!
Simon Cooke Daniel Steck That's not a bad service life! Thanks for the kind words guys, and we'll think about it ;)
Great video, great sounding amp. That said:
7:40 "Hey I'm gonna try my take on modern prog metal"
7:50 "See this aint so bad"
7:55 "What is rhythm??"
8:00 Right hand "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME??!"
8:08 "Dear God, I think I just shat"
tootlesflubb Despite not being able to condone your fruity use of language on such official channels, this was actually hilarious ;)
What is the actual difference between the mk2 and the mk3?
(And of course the kind of music you play will also dictate the sounds you need, etc., etc...)
One more point: if you're going to try a 2x12, our TM212s are kitted out with V30s, and are the bomb: hughes-and-kettner.com/products/cabinets/tm212/
We hope this is a bit of food for thought for you, and do let us know what you decide to go for in the end.
Thanks again,
Pete.
No worries. The TM212 is indeed closed back, and we reckon it'll project as much as you need it to! Give one a try, we think you'll like it :)
What mics are being used?
Gundy is a monster guitarist !
incredible! who is the player?
It's our friend Gundy Keller, an amazing German guitarist :)
@@HughesandKettneramps thanks, i overlooked that in the intro.
@@clusternest1704 No worries! Check out the other stuff he does, he's awesome!
Now THAT my friends is how you do a D E M O !!! Great playing !!!!!!!!!
awesome , great demo
This is sooo coool!!! ...thanks man! I really need this amp,but it might take long coz of the cost hahaha!!
It would have been cool if this video showed how each tone was dialed in .
yeah, we thought about that - but the video would have ended up in 2 hours - so we just wanted to show the options and soundquality
I have this amp and I’m just surprised how few videos are actually out there on how to use it and dial in those tones. I have Bias Fx2 and use it on the iPad thru the fx loop. Is there a community of Triamp 3 owners on forum anywhere? @@HughesandKettneramps
Very versatile
What is that thing on the left down corner in the black ibanez ??
Roland pickup preamp thingy. Its for midi instrument sounds. Pretty cool unit
John Bowman Yeah, we think that's what it is but we've asked Gundy Keller just to be 100% sure... We'll let you know!
OK, so it's an old Roland GK2a Hex-Pickup... and it's not doing anything in this video, apart from sitting on Gundy's guitar looking a bit cool.
which speakers in the cab?
It's 4 x 12” RockDriver Classic 60s - the cab is this one here: hughes-and-kettner.com/products/cabinets/tc-412-a60-cabinet/
Anyone knows what guitar it is using at 04:10?
