- When all-round guitar hero - and lead Danger Danger six-stringer - Rob Marcello visited Hughes & Ketther HQ in St. Wendel Germany in summer 2015, we just couldn't resist asking him to show off his incredible fretboard skills using the TriAmp Mark 3.
The results are incredible, and of course we were able to catch everything on film for you to enjoy. So here it is - five minutes of one of the world's greatest guitar players taking one of the world's greatest guitar amps through its paces. Try and keep up!

Rob is a fantastic player... I had never heard of him before, but ran into him at a Columbus, Ohio music store (?!) a couple of different times. The first time he was just sitting jamming by himself, and an employee, each time he walked past, would say "play like Yngwie...play like Vai...," etc., and Rob would perfectly emulate each one! Got to have a conversation with him tne second time... a really nice, humble virtuoso of a dude.
He´s like all the shrapnel hero´s of the 80s perfectly mixed. Amazing

Rob Marcello is one of a kind, i like the way he blends the fusion side of the track with neo classical metal, a monster player with spectacular tecnique and great writing. I wish we can heard more of Rob in a near future, a solo album maybe? He is definitely one of my favorite players

Rob is a incredible guitar player, one of my favs!! Also those Hughes & Ketter amps are beautiful not to mention they sound great! Thats a great idea to make the control panel in plexiglass and edge lit it with blue leds!

Jacob El-Em if anyone who plays guitar actually thinks that way when they listen to another person play then they don't have the right idea. We're not playing a sport here folks. Everyone has their own personality and character and musical inspiration that they need to put into their own playing. I'm in my 50s now and I've been playing guitar since I was 9 years old. I've seen literally hundreds if not thousands of exceptional guitar players and I've never felt intimidated by them in the least. Only inspiration and respect. That has helped me to become the good player that I am.
This guy makes me want to pick up my guitar!
@@Joe-mz6dc Yep, I'm with ya. Never understood the "My guitar's officially firewood now" attitude when they hear a better player. If anything it should only inspire people to want to play more. If not, then it's time to find another hobby. I play guitar becasue it's super fun, and there's always something new to learn.

How was this recorded? Mics and such? I assume he wasn't just sitting there being blasted by this amp--was it done using the direct-out? How about details on amp settings?
+Millo1868 Nope, we had a Tascam recorder with a stereo in. Backing track on one channel, Rob's guitar track on the other - straight from the built-in Red Box DI to the recorder. The TriAmp is a very loud amp, so we had to use a cab in the next room instead. The 4x12 in the room here was not the one we used, because it was simply too loud! On Rob's exact settings, we'll ask around and see if we can get hold of them :)

The gap between the TriAmp MKII and the Mark 3 featured here was about 12 years - so it took its time, but the results are worth it!

+red comn It's a GoPro Hero 3 and just a standard c-clamp from the DIY store! Did a pretty good job, we thought. And yes, Rob's tone is pure awesome, as usual!

Hmm, as a standalone unit you mean? Would be a logical next step, that'S for sure, and is being looked into. More details when we have them, but could take a while ;)

That is cool, I use to go there in the early 90's and the Hard Rock Cafe in Birkenfeld all the time. It was always a must to get Currywurst from one of those outside stands first. Great Times!

I know that Clapton is good musician but i don't understand why so many people are saying that he is the best guitarist in the world???
It's all opinion at the end of the day, we'd say. Technically we're sure Rob's the stronger (faster!) guitarist, but Clapton's an amazing player too and has also contributed a bunch of ground-breaking stuff to the guitar, as well as writing a number of classic songs - which Rob is yet to do. Plus Clapton influenced a generation of guitar players. For us they're both awesome at their own thing :) Who's your favorite?
When we listen to earlier Clapton stuff, the Beano era, it does make us wonder how much further he could've pushed the guitar envelope instead of going in other directions... must've been incredible to experience him live back in the day.
It will arrive in Brazil on July, 2025... sad, but true. I tried to look for one of this here... maybe if i go to Germany. But after the 7 X 1 i dont know if its a good idea.
Anyway... terrific, amazing, awesome amp, no words to describe...

Shure, there are a lot of fans of your equipmant here in Brazil, but we've a big problem with tax and importation, we pay almost 2 amps to import it to Brazil, quite expensive to me. we wait for a big music store import it and then we buy. This is our case, but I dont lose the faith... hehehe.

You're right, there are currently some issues in getting amps over to countries like Brazil because of taxes, etc. Keep the faith though, and you never know - maybe in the future it'll be easier :)
