      Hey Rouge Wave, love your channel too! So cool that you’re a life long learner!
      I thought the strap was ingenious!
      I just fixed a board with the same symptoms but was on the tail buckled up. I used a ten pound weight to help bend it down before glassing. Worked well. But, I like the idea of the strap as you can get the angle just right with adequate tension.
      Both y’all rock!

    That looks like a lot of work fixing a surfboard with a scrape like that. But in the end, it looked great and watching the person surf with it was really cool.

    Came out like new!
    Curious if you have ever weighed the board before and after the repair?
    I the extra weight clearly did not effect the performance!

    Ok I don’t surf first of all , but I love watching craftsmen do there thing and I must say you’re a craftsman!! I just to watch channels like yours, because it just makes me more knowledgeable about things like I’ll be talking to my wife or friends and they’ll mention something and I’ll start giving them a rundown on how it’s preformed or made or other facts about a lot of subjects and they’re blown away so thank you for making me more knowledgeable!! The question I have had to deal with a step in repairing the board and it occurred around the 5min mark when you put the yellow tape across the front then ran 2 pieces along the edges then poured a bluish looking sealer then flipped it over and done the top the same except on top you made a v out of the tape instead of just a straight piece !! So I’m wondering why you do that step and then why you do a v on top not a straight piece? Sorry about the long ass text , but I really want to know if you could help me thanks a lot
    Chris

    • @douglaskyle3478
      @douglaskyle3478 Год назад

      I wondered the same…
      My conclusion is that he was following the glass line that he’d already laid down for the v tape.
      Then ,because of the slope from the kick, the resin naturally rolled down where he needed it. Saves tape! The good stuff like Frog Tape ain’t cheap!

    what do you add @1:53 ? Looks like q-cell but the consistency is different, is it shredded PU?

    • @BendheimBoards

      Good eye, I ran out of qcell so I had to use cabosil. Hate running out in the moment

    • @vincebartle
      @vincebartle Год назад +1

      @@BendheimBoards Is the weight difference why q-cell is preferred? I can't seem to get q-cell+resin to turn into a paste very easily and the consistency with cabosil looks preferable. thanks for the reply!

    It was cool and all, but if he had specified the details of the material he was using it would have been a lot more informative, like I think he mixed qcell and micro balloons to make his putty have legs, and I assume he added wax to his hot coat. I mean if you are watching a 10 minute video on ding repair you probably want to know what materials he’s using and why etc…
