I will not blame Dan at all if he struggles to pull that off live. This is such a feat of vocal power and precision.

He already performed War of being live, not an easy song too. Did it pretty good, but yeah, he simplified some vocal lines a little bit
He sang the first part of the song in his twitch live stream yesterday and he sounded amazing. It was without any automations/fx or BVs, just raw vocals. But you're right it'll be hard to pull it off live.
He even can do the Ashe song with his own style, like his live performance on 'Portals' concert..
He will nail it. He is one of the best singers on the planet

Dan's performance reminds me a lot when he was in SKYHARBOR, such a beast of a vocalist, this was really great to listen to, shoutout to him
I really do hope some of the vocal coach channels catch this, because this is just an absolutely insane performance.

It's really gorgeous. It makes me a little sad that some metal purists are putting it on the bottom of their ranking just because its different and slower. These kinds of people do not truly appreciate music, or how artists can evolve or mature over time. They do not want artists to mature: It's a very petulant attitude to have. When an artist can write something in another style and have it still be beautifully arranged, you know that artist is truly talented. To me this song was a highlight that made me tear up and also a welcomed break in the middle of the heavier stuff.
@@MrCrazyjoe259 I love it when bands age, and in a way are forced to change/mature owing to changing bodies. Time is undefeated, and all we can do is adjust and experiment.
What you said about artists showing their talent in making changes that still sound good hit the nail on the head. Sirens has such a strong vocal performance, it still gives me goosebumps.

I raise my arm and admit that I used to prefer Tesseract with Ashe, but now I realise that I was totally wrong. And i know that tier listing like this isn't like the best thing, but Dan is just on a level of his own, man.

Dan’s progression as a vocalist is unbelievable. We already knew his cleans and screams were incredible but man those pitched screams during the song’s climax just took him to a whole other level

The album sounds GREAT. The drums sound so amazing, and that snare! Bass tone makes the guitar tone.
This is definitely in the top 3 vocal performance for me this year. Don't forget Spencer on periphery album earlier this year. The ending in wax wings is so epic. Both have grown so much in their talent.
When I heard this, I thought to myself this was the best 10/10 section in music that I had heard since wax wings. Both of these are just incredible songs, though I prefer wax wings over all, Dan’s last few minutes here are ridiculous!
I had never heard of Periphery until I read this comment, now I’m listening to them daily 😂
This song is the BEST one off the album for me, especially because of Dan's vocals. The transition to falsettos is unmatched in the scene! 🔥
AOTY for me this album was so much better than I had expected when they dropped Legion as a single the day before the release I knew. Hits so many raw emotions Dan took his vocal performances up another level in this album.

Same, got some Buckley vibes and especially some Matt Bellamy vibes with the high falsetto in there!
I saw an interview with Dan covering this, and he lists Jeff Buckley as one of his inspirations, granted he humbles himself saying he is still nowhere close to Jeff's talent.
The album is ridiculously good, and Dan's vocals throughout are god-tier - those highs give me serious goosebumps. Definitely an AOTY contender.
Does anything else this year even come close? I'm legitimately asking lol so I can listen to those other albums

I mean, Dan has been doing this since Skyharbor's album Guiding Lights. Just so freaking glad to hear more of this out of him. One of my all-time favourite vocalists 🙌
Guiding Lights is one of my favourite albums ever, just beautiful from start to finish. That album doesn't have the insane blend of cleans and screams that's on showcase here though.

That hole on the top left is the only natural light in the shot.
This is probably my new song of the year! Everything from the contagious groove from the intro to the middle of the song then the heavy chugs come in and everything from 3:27 on just absolutely speechless! \m/

I know core stuff is your main thing, and that's totally cool. But I think it would really help to spice up your channel with more death metal, black metal, etc from time to time. A lot more adventurous stuff going on with that these days. Would probably bring in more outside viewers as well? But I'm not a RUclips algorithm expert, so who knows.
I recommend Horrendous, or Alkaloid. Top tier stuff. Or if you genuinely just aren't as interested in those styles, I get that.

I hope Tesseract are getting some kickbacks from your Patreon/YT earnings, this is nowhere near transformative enough to be fair use. No analysis, no pauses for discussion and the music audio is way higher than your mic audio. The gall to direct people to your paid Patreon is astounding.

Really talented band but i just cant get into them. I like songs that get straight to the point and their songs are just too drawn out and slowburning.

@@WSlopeAggie The weird thing is i like a ton of prog rock and prog metal bands, Tool, Coheed, Karnivool, Opeth, Periphery.. just to name a few. Maybe i just need to check out more Tesseract albums. I listened to a couple and only walked away with a couple songs for the playlist.
This was amazing but im sorry but the Vocal performance may of been out of this world but everything surrounding it was really just kind of mid his voice was carrying that whole song on its back i dont think i have ver seen that nefore

I don't get it. I wish they'd release instrumentals of their songs or change the vocalist. The songs always start incredibly strong and then get ruined by those forgettable vocals. The dude knows the techniques, sure, but he sounds so boring while doing it.
I hope the song grows on you :( he does give off a little too nonchalant but I feel like that is his technique to be as relaxed as possible to produce his best possible voice yunno
They do have instrumental versions of several of their previous albums. Go check that out. Plenty of people love their vocals, probably just not your taste.
