I would say that a time when your government quit functioning when they removed the precautions and didn't reinstate them the instant the cases started climbing. So sorry they didn't learn from the mistakes of other countries who had that happen. Actually, you had a warning at the end of July when there was a surge of cases with 85% of the country vaccinated. One of your statistics was a day where 80 of the 116 new cases were vaccinated (July 28th IIRC). Clearly the vaccine alone wasn't enough.

Enjoy the books Valur - don’t have nightmares!
The new ball is getting a work out! They come in packs of three: one of them glows in the dark, which makes it really useful for about half the year in Iceland, another makes a sound which may or may not sound like the spirits of the damned being unleashed - so it will be perfect for a Supernatural Iceland episode.

That thin ice brought back memories, one of which I was sharing with my lady just yesterday: I used to love testing the thin, transparent ice when I was a kid in Ontario, cautiously putting more and more weight on it, listening to it creak, and if it seemed strong enough, commit! to standing on it. Sometimes you could see minnows swimming below, or a crayfish emerging from the slowly waving aquatic plants if you were truly lucky. I was never in much danger, as it was just a shallow creek, but it felt incredibly adventurous at that age.

At least my memories remain largely unsullied by 'progress'.

Oh, and I nominate 4:44 to 4:49 for the Oscar for best short film of the year! What a great little vignette! UPDATE: It occurred to me last night after watching that clip for what must have been the 100th time, that had Art filmed Polly running back in the opposite direction and spliced that in a couple of seconds later, it would have been even more epic and hilarious.

Interesting to see what happens with the volcanoes, but my question is: how much wisdom is there in walking on thin ice in an earthquake zone? ;-)

I have seen Lava Glow on Nar, towards the right hand side of the volcano, looking from one of the cams, you can see it well at night!!

Is it just me or does Valur sound like he's speaking from within a telephone booth? 🔊 . . . Valur be brave you need only to worry it you can hear the ice cracking underfoot I think, learned that from 'Ice Road' Truckers' 😀
Maybe it's my Dutch heritage but that ice looks like a great place to put on a pair of ice skates! 😍
I heard that the daily case count in the USA. is nearing 250,000/day 😱 get your shots folks, it's way too late once your infected!
