    Thomas don't give away all your secrets ;), but fascinating to hear about the caps, man I wish I could afford this amp. I still think a redesign of the chassis would be much better for the amp, also aa nice wood finish to add to the Galion feel.
    One more thing Thomas(this is just in general, not talking about the Galion specifically), just for fun, try adding a vintage or vintage style hardware limiter before your amps input, with light settings, you will be shocked at how much it brings out details you never heard before in a mix and also adds some colour if required. You just have to play with the compression and peak reduction and find a setting that works, less is more. It also brings back the life to clinical digital music playback.

    • @galionaudio9146
      @galionaudio9146  Год назад +1

      Do you have a link to a photo of the hardware limiter? My original design did not look like the current Galion. I had to adapt due to the COVID situation and hence you see many similarities to the Doge 10. Eventually, in a year or 2, I will re-design it. Mr. Kanta shares the same sentiment as you.

    • @crtgamer2355
      @crtgamer2355 Год назад +1

      @@galionaudio9146 That's awesome to hear Thomas, I am really looking forward to see what you come up with, and I'm glad Mr Kanta has the same opinion as me :)
      I guess any vintage style limiter will do, I have been messing around with Limiter plugins on my media player, specifically the Frontier free limiter plugin by D16 Group, which seems to be based on the legendary TELETRONIX LA-2A Limiter.
      Even though it's not hardware, man the sound is just incredible, I can only imagine how good the real thing will sound, especially if it has tubes like vintage Limiters.
      Of course I can't afford the real thing, but there are modern hardware recreations which I'm sure you can get a hold of for a much better price.
      One of these is the Warm Audio WA-2A Optical Compressor which goes for about $900, not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but obtainable by someone as yourself.
      Yes Limiters and Compressors are mainly used in studios, but light compression on music can really, bring out details, very similar to tape compression and saturation.
      Have you ever wondered why music sounds so good and engaging on radio? That's compression and saturation at work. Yes they go overboard sometimes, but you can work magic if you can find the right setting. less is more.
      Give it a go, it really adds back the magic to sterile digital music formats.
      It's another tool in your audio arsenal :)

    • @crtgamer2355
      @crtgamer2355 Год назад

      @@galionaudio9146 I just realized you will need two of these Limiters for stereo since they are single channel.
      Of course the digital plugin versions are stereo by default, I guess one advantage software has lol

    • @crtgamer2355
      @crtgamer2355 Год назад

      @@galionaudio9146 Of course there are stereo hardware limiters like the Manley Variable Mu but that is not cheap.
      Then there other one I can think of now is the Pro VLA II - Two Channel Vactrol-based Compressor/Limiter which is much more affordable.

    Greetings, I really enjoyed the video. I'm a tube head and love all things valve, so I am biased. I think that Tube Amps not having bass albeit true of many makes, is a bit of myth. I have owned 5 or 6 of them. All different makes, not one failed to deliver satisfying bass. In fact many of them had better quality than the big watt SS designs I also experimented with. That I also found also to be a myth, just because it is SS does not necessarily mean your going to get clean, tight, bass out of it. My observations is if a tube amp manufacturer, puts a lot of thought into its power supply, and engineer it to deliver a lot of current, it will do an excellent job on the low-end, despite a modest output of watts.

    • @galionaudio9146
