    *Thank you for stopping by this morning! Absolutely in love with this one! It is an interesting story of how Bruno made his own "end-game" amplifier for his "end-game" speakers and that has led to something incredible. I wish all manufactures should consider building products as if it was their end-game!*

    Reviews from early buyer:
    @ukbij
    I was one of the first ones to buy the Terra after I heard you cry :)...man this is simply the most alive and joy inducing amp I have owned. It replaced Primaluna evo 300i, Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum iii. And beats several other solid states when it comes to control. It is voiced a little on the excitable side which lends it that life. Everytime I have heard it over last 3months, it puts a smile. A keeper. Thanks Jay for bringing this to my attention.
    @Dee
    I took my time to listen to the amp over last few days/nights.Here are my early impressions, and the amp needs to burn in:
    The Terra is simply the most engaging and fun Amp I have heard in a long time in my setup.It is especially an exceptional pairing with Goldenear Triton speakers. The pairing with KLH Model5 and ProAc response1SC is okay.
    With the Goldenear Tritons One.R speakers, fed by Denafrips Venus ii 12 DAC + Bluesound Node 2021 streamer:
    1.Power: 20W seems a lot, I don't need to go beyond 2 volume steps.
    2.Soundstage : Expansive,wide,high and the deeper than any other tube amp in my setup.
    3. Realism: The entire band is literally in my room. How is it possible. Audio Sorcery at play.I have never had the singer and band come free from the speakers and float in front of me. Firm, clear and most importantly life-like and life-size.
    4.Voices: Most soulful, real and locked right in the soundstage, never moving.
    5.Clarity: Like none other. This amp extracts so much detail. But here it's the balance you have achieved which no other amp has for me.
    - My attention at all times follows and stays with the music first. It notices the detail but only as an afterthought.Music is most engagingly and emotionally presented. This amp has given me such incredible joy over the last few days.
    6. Bass: The mid bass is plump and juicy. So much life. Lower bass is controlled, right level and articulate.
    7. Mids: Gorgeous, lush. Here on some ocassions though I hope it is not as forward/keen. Some tracks were edgy. I hope this softens as the Amp burns in.
    8. Highs: Superb air, detail is simply 'sweet'. Cymbals decay with such sweet realism. Holographic.
    9. Tone: Real, life like with possibly a very mild emphasis on the higher end to my ear, giving it a vibrant presence.
    My friend, this is maybe the amp I did not know I have been waiting for. I have returned 2 other tube amps ,more expensive from reputed brands . Infact your amp outshines my Class A Luxman solid state in this pairing with Goldenear speakers.
    It simply has LIFE. So much life.
    Hats off to what you achieved. A huge fan here now.
    Thank you

    This has to be one of the most intriguing tube amp reviews that I have ever heard (I mean this).
    I do look forward to the next iteration wherein tube rolling will be explored. If this amp is truly
    everything as you explain, then for my taste it would be absolutely "perfect". I have had (and still have)
    many tube, solid-state amps, preamps, buffers etc and they have all brought enjoyment but yet I
    seek something more. I once heard music played through a very expensive (Harbeth/Hegel) system
    and what I heard, though beyond my financial reach, was much akin to your description of this amp.
    Maybe this just might be the end-game amp for me at my current age. I have been intrigued by tubes
    since the 1950/60s and even built my own Dynaco way back but after all of these years I now know
    exactly how I want my music presented and this amp has really got me interested. The price certainly
    seems fair - all things considered. Thank you Jay.... I would have never known about this opportunity
    without your willingness and desire to review, create (your speakers), AND explore (Korea).👌

    This may be my favorite Audio Review ever, because it references your trip to Korea, which was one of my favorites!! It was great storytelling which shows your skill as a Filmmaker/Videographer. As is this one...I actually loved the cinematic music at the end, but it was in all seriousness... for this piece of Hi-FI Royalty! I have never heard you praise and at the same time be absent of the words to describe what makes a piece unique! And that's not to be overlooked, because this is a true Unicorn among Hi-Fi. I remember watching the piece you did featuring the RCA Speakers, which by the way, I have heard many years ago in several theaters inside of Washington D.C. Movie Theaters. The Array, when I saw it, quickly had me thinking...Ive seen those before. Now I could be wrong and maybe they were another brand, but I thought...hell those speakers would sound good with anything if easy to drive. But then bruno said, "its not just the speakers jay!"...and spoke about the amplifiers. And now....thank god you convinced him to build this. It is, thanks to the great images you captured, perhaps the most beautiful amplifier Ive ever seen!! But let me be as quick as I can here because while you say in one hand "it cant compete with 10,000 or 20,000 dollar amplifiers"....from what you are saying...I don't even think that "comparing" is even applicable here. It may, and I think I'm correct, have been some Cello gear with a pair of speakers that eludes me, that created what I had never heard before from a two channel set up. And it is what this amplifier does that you cant quite put your finger on..... and its..... "while some most amplifiers can create a great soundstage, very few can create its own ATMOSPHERE, larger than the space you are actually in!" And thats what the BRUNOCO does, it creates an Atmosphere of Music! And price, while mattering 99% of the time, is all but moot for the pittance of just $3500..... What!!!??? I really do thank and applaud Bruno for making such an affordably piece of not just truly Hi-End equipment, but if there ever was a an example of "It in a Class of it Own"......this is it! This can't be compared to anything. 20 watts with a 300 watt Transformer, no wonder it will drive those KEF's. You know I have the Kendalls, which are the only speakers that come close to your beloved Tribes, and I am salivating at the mere thought that I can actually afford this...with some saving time incurred of course!! And hell....screw the remote Jay....Any reason to get up and touch this gorgeous Amplifier is enough for me!! My one and very only question would be the Blue Lit Power button...and just how bright it is in a dark room? Nothing that a good ole piece of Gaff tape couldn't remedy, but that where a remote with a dim/off button would be appreciated. Great work Jay!!

    • @Jayiyagi
      @Jayiyagi  11 месяцев назад

      Again, it's a purist design so there isn't dimming or features that's abundant in many other units out there. You are going to have to use the Gaff tape haha BUT I will say... it really hasn't bothered me

    • @Csnumber1
      @Csnumber1 11 месяцев назад

      @@Jayiyagi Yeah I thought the same thing when you mentioned a remote…it is a “Purists Design”. Yeah it didn’t look like it was “Emotiva” Bright. I would think no remote will be made available because he would have to different knob controls and from previous videos this guy is too purist for that!! And I love it!!

    this is my favorite review about any gear, ever. Gotta get one of these now, because 'being lost in music' is my focus, not the 'nitpicky' stuff you can spend 10X, 100Xs of thousands of dollars pursuing. Its right here, enjoy it. Sounds like its built with love, and it transposes this as a listening experience, and THAT is what the hundreds of thousands of $$$ spent is trying to track down, when it wasn't that hard to find. its right here.

    Jay, absolutely correct. You don't need to spend a ton of money. Pleasing sound was what I was after. I've built several and those heavy chassis are awesome as I've used them. I probably won't build anymore, but the last one I did, a parallel single ended 5881 is what I use for a daily driver. Yes the chassis weighs a ton but it didn't break the bank as it cost me only $1000 to build. A nice great sounding tube amplifier does not have to be complicated. The ones that I built were to see for myself what a particular known circuit sounded like and make some subtle improvements if possible.

    So I bought Brunoco Terra after my last post below and what an amplifier that is! My main setup is mostly Pass, but been listening to Brunoco ever since. Out of morbid curiosity I changed the output tubes to Tunsol 6L6GC STR and the pre valves to Psvane 12AU7S - this thing got even bigger! Not to discount Pass, I do love the smooth, perfectly balanced sound my setup gives me, but Brunoco (fed by Matrix Audio - Element X) is something entirely different; the clarity and the presence from it is something else. Surprisingly, it is not even fatiguing. Thank you for reviewing it.

    so Jay...you have said many of your tube amps have been the best.. Remember, I am the president of the Iyagi Clan fan club, and you said the Line Magnetic was the best ever...the Decware was the best ever...you said the Starke was the best ever...even the Gallion...and the Audio Note...and the Vincent...and the Willsenton...and then this. I give up, because to say this is even better than even the silver standard AGD monos of which I was saving up to buy. I am going to sit in the corner now...you need a tube amp tier list...it's time.

    • @Jayiyagi
      @Jayiyagi  11 месяцев назад +18

      Well firstly I didn't say Brunoco is better than AGD. Some of the ones you've listed; I didn't say it was the best. But needless to say, I haven't heard a single soul NOT rave about their purchase after buying something I highly recommended. I test many products on a daily basis and many of them are competed and A/Bed against each other. Many of them are just sent back without a review. I find new things like Brunoco and it is absolutely normal to find something that's new and better than what I experienced before.
      But that does not mean every product needs to be bought or is the "best" for you. When I say "best" - I am referring to concern categories. I suggest you consider your own factors and hear what I am saying in the video to describe it and see if that is something you can vibe with, if not, then it isn't for you even if I or anyone else says it's the best

    • @scottbernard8824
      @scottbernard8824 11 месяцев назад +1

      I say this with all respect. Don't solely rely on other peoples' opinions. Take what they say with a little skepticism. At best, all the "best" amps will sound slightly different.

    • @Jayiyagi
      @Jayiyagi  11 месяцев назад +7

      @@scottbernard8824 I agree on the fact that you should take everything someone says with a grain of salt and think how it applies to you.
      I disagree with amps making small differences. Sure some amps do sound very similar with similar technology and circuitry but I found that the differences in amps are pretty substantial, especially when they have different design goals, design choice and compromise

    • @DJ_BROBOT
      @DJ_BROBOT 11 месяцев назад +2

      Jay, no I get it...we all have to test stuff for ourselves and things do change in time. But I would be interested in seeing how younwoukd rank the different amps you gave high marks to. • @Csnumber1
      @Csnumber1 11 месяцев назад +2

      Hey Jay, this is a good suggestion that needs exploring to add a new angle in your reviews. It would be cool as hell to have standing list of “Best Valued”, “Best Sounding” “Best over all”….this could be true for IA’s, Tube IA’s, Stand Mounts, Towers and DACs!! Be cool to see the “shuffling” as you review and “place”!! Just a thought Jay just a thought!!….cause DJ does have a point…it can be a bit confusing when you say as in this case, the Brunuco has better midrange than amps costing three times as much, then you say, does this sound better than ten thousand dollar amps, no!? When you’ve already said it does in one or more respects. And seriously, show me another tube amplifier built better than this thing for any amount of money?? I can’t wait to get mine!!!

    Have you ever heard of philharmonic speakers like the bmr monitor? 3 way design, famous designer, $1700 a pair - very competatively priced at that and beautiful finish. Had a landslide win at the Arizona speaker fest up against 15 other bookshelf speakers under $3000. 29 first place votes, the next highest was 6 - triangle comete. If added 1st/2nd/3rd votes they received 38, next highest was tied at 14 - kef r3, atc scm 11. They are 36-20khz +/- 2db.
    Anyways, just wondering if you've ever heard of them and hopefully trying to see how they compare to the css critons? A little price difference. But that would be an amazing comparison specially considering the 2tdx would be closer priced, but maybe slightly more performance than 1tdx.
    Thanks!!

      If I may, I have tried both in my setup. Brunoco has become my choice. Galion is a swiss army knife kinda amp. Does many things and does it really well. I love that amp too. Brunoco occupies a niche space. It has a special quality of being more alive than many other amps. I listen to Jazz, Blues, Ambient, Electronic and a little classical.

    You got me dreaming as well, great review as always! Does the bass tightness rival the one from solid state and hybrid amps for this price? It probably is 2 times better than Vincent SV-237Mk (at least as punchy in the low end?) and I should consider it a good upgrade for twice the price? Which DAC would you recommend? I liked the award reviews from you on Denafrips, maybe Pontus 2? Is the Denafrips Terminator an overkill? Is it a great match for the Arendal speakers you've tried? Lastly, this is only for a stereo 2.0 setup and I would need to set it up with another solid state amp somehow if I want to use a subwoofer?

    • @Jayiyagi
      @Jayiyagi  11 месяцев назад +3

      SV-237 is more bass in amount and “punchy” but Brunoco has more nuance and texture. Definitely an upgrade in the mids, highs and soundstage. I’d go with an ANK or Audio Note Dac or Pontus. I would not go with higher end denafrips dacs on this one as it gets a lil too detail oriented. (Still amazing but I’m speaking from my personal taste)
      To use a sub, you can go with something like Rel that has speakon connection

      @@Jayiyagi Thanks a lot for the suggestions! Do you have a video on how to wire/add a separate solid state amp (for punchier bass) with such a tube amplifier (for the mids and highs) I can go and watch? If it can be done, what solid state amp do you recommend for such mixture, if that's not a too broad question and if the Brunoco doesn't lose its magic that way? Sorry, I'm really bad on this topic and I really like hybrids I guess.

      @@tonezou3918 - In order to do what you are looking to do, you need a DSP/crossover solution for the line level signal coming from the source or from a preamp to split the lows from the mids/highs so that they can be routed to the different amps. Since this Brunoco amp is an integrated amp (with the preamp built in) you would sorta be "pre-amping" the mids and highs twice if you use a separate preamp - or use a digital signal processor (DSP) as the volume control/preamp. Might be more cost effective to find a tube amp instead of an integrated amp. That said, it can be done using this model Brunoco. Google "line level crossover" or even MiniDSP or just DSP.

    Hi Jay, I just found your video about the Brunoco Terra. Very interesting indeed. I truly like your work. Have you heard their Titan monobloc amplifiers when you were in Korea? They might interest me assuming they offer similar (or better ?) emotional connection with the soul of music.
    After close to 30 years in this hobby and having tried tens and tens of different gears of all kind, I think that what sets the “really special products” apart from the bunch is exactly that: emotional connection/soul/magic. These products are VERY hard to find and worth holding on to IMHO.
    Quite easy to find gears that sound very good but those products that have a “je ne sais quoi” that caress your heart and soul (and give your brain a brake) are keepers.
    Thanks for letting me know and cheers from Montreal

    Great review Jay ! How does it compare to Audio Note Tonemeister in terms of musicality ?

      @HoomanR17 11 месяцев назад

      Have the same question..

    • @Jayiyagi
      @Jayiyagi  11 месяцев назад +7

      Like I have expressed, I like the tonmeister quite a lot, even more than the vindicator and m2 combo. It throws a vividly large soundstage and an atmosphere that is really smooth and relaxing, it is simply sublime of an experience. I don't think there was an instance where a component did that to the degree the Tonmeister did but I do recall few vintage tube amplifiers like the legendary marantz 8b that indeed did similar things. It is not a surprise as Audio Note also believes that the old days were the golden days of hifi and we are kind of backtracking in terms of "musicality." Hence why they follow simple circuitry as well with little to no modification to the signal path even in their dacs (ex. oversampling, regeneration, etc).
      Brunoco on the other hand is similar in the whole "shortest signal path possible" approach or the "old designs with better parts available today" approach. It is similar in how it throws a vividly large soundstage that is forever expanding (but to a lesser degree of atmosphere than the tonmeister). BUT the similarities ends there, the Brunoco is more powerful in both sound and output, it's capability to capture nuance and handle dynamic swing is more impressive than the tonmeister. It is more "pure" sounding and transparent sounding like I have mentioned. The Audio Note tonmeister is more warmer and lush with less of a control in dynamic swing and nuance per se. This leads to better (at least to my ears) a more nuanced micro and macro dynamics presentation in the Brunoco.
      Musicality wise, I still really love the tonmeister and can definetly justify the price in my heart because of how lush, warm and inviting it sounds BUT the Brunoco for the fraction of the price has that "RCA" sound that I can't quite put my finger on it but brings intense musicality that I only have maybe felt 3 times in my journey so far. So it is a hard call but one thing is for sure... Brunoco amps bring a lot of value at this price range and it is no surprise that the initial MSRP was much higher (at around $5000-6000 USD I believe) but was brought down due to me suggesting and convincing Bruno that he needs to be VERY competitive as the brand is new and unknown AND of course cutting margin by skipping the middle mans and going direct.

    Tube choice of ECC82 is better than the standard ECC83..........
    6L6GC beampower can be an interesting tube rolling experience..........6L6GC nos , 7027A nos (attention to eventual little modification on the pin out -cpmapatible with both types )..7581A nos .....and even 6CA7 nos ( pin out !)
    One thing I would be restrained in buying one is the PCB and the tube sockets being solderd on them...as well ( maybe ) as the questioning the eventual quality of those .
    I would also protect the tubes at start-up and switch down.
    BUT ............no NFB and quality OPT's ..........the results are already there ........and the potential to upgrade exist.
    Personaly I would rebuild the amplifier with my own components and get rid of the PCB , ....and rebuild it using point to point.
    Also use only OCC wiring and decent RCA and speaker terminals .
    Conclusion for the money this is a great amplifier ............as is ...........and having a potential to bring it up to anaother level if desired >.attention , the cost maybe as high as the finished amplifier itself..
    It's all up to you .

    Thanks

      I wanted to buy it at first, but after seeing the inside I'm through with it

    When you get rich from you tube, my emotional connection was many years ago with the Mastersound Evolution 845 integrated amp from Italy. Again, a company that makes its own output transformers. But at least 4 times the cost. This was in 2007 with the introduction of the Gradient Helsinki 1.5 at CES . Nothing at any show since has matched it.

    Hi Jay as a music lover first and a Hify geek second I am sorry to ask a spec question after such an emotional review.
    You are going to review some tube sounds, but I was hoping you could list the potential valve types the Brunoco can be tried with.
    I am actively looking for a single ended tube amp to partner with my Pima Luna balanced amp in tube rolling.
    The Brunoco sounds perfect but if it compliments my P.L it is more likely my next purchase rather than a future dream..
    I did have a look but they're wed site only tells you what it comes with not what you can try in it.
    All the best. I think I have told you this before but in watching your channel I think we share a taste in sound.

    Your description sounds of this amp sound a bit like Audio Note?
