Hello duff I am certainly going to try this recipe. I think I might even add a teaspoon of freeze dried coffee because I know that that really pumps up some chocolate flavor also. Have a terrific day
You seem to be a wonderful, nurturing human being, and we need so many like you in this crazy world of today. And you have beautiful hands (I am a professional organist).
I realized you're from buffalo, I went to college at SUNY buffalo and always ate at duff's wings. I've been watching a lot of your keto baking videos and it's nice and simple. Thank you for making all of these videos!
I tried the cake it’s super moist and you can’t tell that it’s Keto. As for the frosting I made a chocolate ganache by using 1:1 ratio of heavy whipping cream and Choczero dark chocolate chips
The cake is delicious, but at the very least, you must make Joe Duff's recipe for the frosting. It is insane! My favorite frosting ever keto or not. (It's just awesome that it is keto!) Thanks, Joe! (again)
Made these tonight. The frosting is really good but we prefer the sunflower butter recipe (Keto Mug Cake | NO Almond Flour Or Coconut Flour Needed) over yogurt. It's so much easier to make single servings too. Will be coming back for the frosting recipe though.
Looks amazing and I can’t wait to make it. My only problem is the brand of cocoa powder you used. That particular brand and also Nestle and Cadbury stated they cannot guarantee slave labor was not used to pick their cocoa. There are so many responsibly sourced brands available that taste better also.
Why salted butter? Salted butter is usually slower grade of quality so I don't have it available, will regular butter work or increase dash of salt? Also, why non fat yoghurt, would 2% fat not work? Thank you! Appreciate your work.
I don’t have one but Adam Regusa has a non-keto one on YT w a crispy top that uses mostly powdered sugar. You could use Swerve powdered. Maybe you can make one based off this? Tag me if you do!
Chocolate chips with 55% chocolate? It makes me wonder what the rest is? And if it might not contain carbohydrates, as in starch or modified whatevers. I also saw your yogurt being not-fat, which I would avoid, removing the fat yields a higher milk-sugar content, which in not declared and yet a high glycemic index CH. Ranting aside, I'll surly test the recipe. Thanks!
I have made several of your dessert recipes, and while they have tasted wonderful, I find I do not tolerate either the erythritol or the monkfruit sweeteners very well. This looks amazing, but I'll have to use coconut or maple sugar.
@@amyv8416 it has no bitterness and is about 70% as sweet as sugar. Works great in icecream recipes as it keeps the icecream a little softer rather than some that go rock hard. "Allulose is plant-based and occurs naturally in foods like dried fruit, jackfruit, figs, and maple syrup. For mass production, it’s made by fermenting natural sugars from plants, similar to the process of making kombucha - but there is no sugar remaining in the end product."
Three things real quick: First, I have to assume that "a heaping quarter cup" is the equivalent of "one-third of a cup". Number two, a baking temp is never mentioned anywhere in this video. For those wanting to make this recipe, I assumed 300 degrees fahrenheit and then I baked for about 50 minutes, which turned out fine. I could have gotten away with 48 minutes I think and it would have been perfect. And then lastly, I added one egg white to the frosting recipe and then I whipped good and long. For those who want to try it, when you think you are finished whipping, whip another 60 seconds. The frosting turned out more like a mousse, and a damn good one to say the least. Overall this recipe is a keeper for sure.
How many total carbs does it have? Also, your recipe doesn’t say to use low fat yogurt but that’s what you are shown using while you’re making it. Does it matter if it’s fat free or full fat?
Thanks for making this....but can you just make em and sell them I don't cook or bake, Im saving your video Because maybe one day I will make this it looks delicious.
Swerve is basically Erythritol so it should be fine. If it's not confectioners I'd just put it in a food processor or blender to turn it into confectioners Erythritol. The amount should be the same (after you've ground it down into confectioner's).
It's about 2700 calories for the whole cake or about 338 calories for a slice (1/8th) which isn't bad but not great either if you're trying to lose weight.
This is the problem with keto. You change over to counting carbs but forget you also need to count calories. It’s been a learning curve for me. This is where many people fail on keto, the sweet treats…😂
A very good recipe, thank you very much, but I don’t understand why you add non-fat yoghurt with butter? Isn’t better to use fat yoghurt or even a sour cream in stead?
I'm sorry but is it okay to substitute almond flour to coconut flour? That's the only thing I have now since almond flour is like 3x more expensive, something that a poor student like me can't afford🙃😅
Can you try using something other than swerve? Some people like me can't handle erythritol. If you go with micronutrients stevia you won't have any erythritol
I wish we could use something else that almond or coconut flour it's too sweet even when I don't add substitutes of sugar 😩 it's not the same than normal flour
Yeah, try lupin, sunflower, pecan, flax, oat fiber or protein powder. These last two you can't sub 1 to1, you can only use a portion of them to replace some of the other flours. Heard it's not a good idea to use 100% lupin flour as well.

Thanks. Wondering if adding xanthum gum would be okay. I like a bit of a different texture. Like the recipe ingredients!
Add a baking temp. I found 300 F to be good.
*The cake turned out moist, rich, and perfectly chocolaty, with just the right amount of sweetness. Thank you for sharing this incredible recipe!*
Hello duff I am certainly going to try this recipe. I think I might even add a teaspoon of freeze dried coffee because I know that that really pumps up some chocolate flavor also. Have a terrific day
This looks incredible! Always appreciate how you use metric measurements for accuracy, makes all the difference!
Yeah, metric. As in "a heaping quarter cup"... very accurate, of course.
My problem is I will eat the whole thing in one sitting lol
Make my mug cake instead ;)
I do.
exactly, with a pot of coffee... it's gone.
you and me both 😩
Me too. I'm really bad with desserts. 😔
You seem to be a wonderful, nurturing human being, and we need so many like you in this crazy world of today. And you have beautiful hands (I am a professional organist).
yes! moist is key here. microwaved cakes tend to be too dry, this one seems to be much better!
I made this today and wow it is so moist and the frosting is very delicious! Thanks for a great keto cake recipe.
Thanks lynn!
And I am SO trying this, thanks Diet Chef!
I just noticed you have cookbooks. I’m going to buy them!!
Aweee thanks :)

Only ingredient I need is yoghurt, totally getting it in my next trip to the store.
That chocolate cake goes into my favorites to try next, thanks Joe.
Yay!!! So glad I found you again!! Starting with my keto lifestyle and can't wait to try your recipes!!
Hope you love it ;)
I just made this. Easy. Very delicious 😋
This looks absolutely delicious!! Thank you so much Joe!! Looks pretty easy to.GOD bless you and you entire family.
Thank you DC. Will make that one for the weekend and I´ll add a middle layer of creme (cake-creme-cake-topping). Thanks a million. Mat
Omg finally made this last week so yummy thank you for this !!!!
Very nice recipe chef 👍👌👏. Thank you for your effort 🙏🌞😎

Yummo Joe!! Will def be making this ASAP!! Keep up the great & delicious keto recipes!! 🥰
Use sour cream instead of yougurt for less carbs.
Or keto yogurt.
Yup. Great tip. Sour cream is perfectly interchangeable, with far less carbs.
There are also all the vegan yogurts, like almond yogurt, which has a good quantity of carbs, but it’s all coming from the fiber so almost 0 net carb!
Also, maybe cream cheese frosting. YUM
Joe chocolate heaven going on right there looks good!!🙂
I love your recipes. I would love be able to cook (you make it looks easy!!) LOL
Omg this looks sooo yummy. And I have all the ingredients already. Can't wait to try it 😋
Making tonight! Btw, made your oreos and they were delish! Dipped some in melted lilys mint chips, soooo good!

Hi Can we add sour cream if we do not have the yogurt? Thank you
I’d like to know same thing
Yes
@@ThyGirlnextdoor thanks, I’ll try it!

Hi joe 🥰

Could we use creame cheese instead of whipping cream ?
Whiskefy!! You said whiskefy! I’m so happy 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Also … umm … dude, that’s a loaf pan, mkay? 😂🤣😂
So you just made keto easy for me ;) thank you.
Thanks Joe.
Hi Joe. Just wondering why you used non-fat yogurt? Whole fat yogurt would have been lower in carbs don’t you think?
Looks yummy!

Can't wait to try this recipe! Can I use stevia instead?
“…I am going to use a (freakishly tiny) spatula to pour, and distribute the frosting evenly, all over the cake.”😄
Hey Joe, hanging out for a keto friand recipe from you
I wonder if anyone has come up with a keto brownie brittle recipe.
Could you take something like this and spread it thinly for a crispy version?
I don’t have one but Adam Regusa has a non-keto one on YT w a crispy top that uses mostly powdered sugar. You could use Swerve powdered. Maybe you can make one based off this? Tag me if you do!

Try allulose?

Use bull-dog clips to hold the parchment paper in place
The best!
Looks delicious! Would I be able to use coconut flour instead of almond flour? If so, same amount? Ty!
Coconut flour is very different than almond flour. Absorbs way more liquid so you'd need a lot more eggs.
Hi Joe amazing recipe thanks so much. My question is can I use sour cream instead of yogurt.
Yes, he mentions it in the written recipe link. 😊
Yummy!!!

Where can I get Lily s chocolate chip s
Can I use powdered erythritol

loooooook delicious
Can’t find anywhere how many servings this makes
It's in the recipe
10 slices
