All the death could have been avoided if they had just found an uninfected person and stayed with them in their home

Their panic is what lead them to their deaths. Proper procedures were effective if they were unhampered. For example: the CDC were collecting brain samples when one of the infected bit one of the personnel. They locked the room out and prepared to leave when the girl (forgot her name) tried to stop them to get the vet out of there. By the extent of the hazard present, evacuating and leaving one unprotected person who is very likely to be bit and has little to chance of recovery (which is more apparent by the previous statement by the vet “rabies usually takes effect within months. This is mere minutes”) is favorable. Unfortunately them stopping the CDC lead the panic and caused the breach of containment
TLDR. Don’t fucking panic, just follow those who has more knowledge than you. Especially if it’s a fucking highly vicious person that seems to make others go coo coo crack cocaine crazy

Well in the movie there was a point where they said they evacuated people from the building but they were lying. So maybe that’s part of the reason why they shut it off. So they wouldn’t show it on the news

the original film had a lower budget and did a far better job. They pretty much remade the film scene for scene, line for line but in english and with a different explanation of the virus
Al it copied REC the original film. And tbh, in afew ways they did a better job. Im tired of overly cliched moments in movies.

This movie scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.
It's scary how realistic this seems. Mutated rabies is something that seems so realistic. These zombies seems more realistic than any other zombies I've seen so far.
I feel like all of these deaths can be avoided by telling them clearly that they are in a quarantine.
The police could’ve said “yo fam we heard some disease that came from this building. We need to make sure but you have to stay in.”
Honest opinion, I too would panic if they simple cut off electricity and just didn’t answer us while setting up shop (well more like a 500m high security hot zone)

I hated this movie because the movie it was based on, REC, was SOO much better and explained the virus so much better in the REC movies. You should definitely do a REC video.

you know, the doomsday cult intention of speed up the process to Armageddon does actually exist in some way in real life and it was done by the Christian Zionist.
Before someone said I'm just theory conspiracy nerd or whatever, hear me out. The Christian Zionist here I am referring to is not the general definition of the said group such as any Christians who support Israel or Zionism movement.
I am referring to the narrow and most focused definition that directed to a specific group of Christian Extreme Fundamentalist (because not all fundamentalist are dangerous and the fundamentalist group itself is consist of many other non-extreme smaller groups).
Basically, this certain group is supporting the Israel government project to rebuild Solomon Temple in whatever forms for the purpose of speed up the coming of Christ. After that and the Rapture happened, they will ascend to heaven, leaving other people that are non-Christians like Muslim, Jews and etc from other religion together with the non-true Christians on Earth to suffer.
It sounds silly and less horrifying than the Doomsday Cult but still felt unreal, I know. Even the author of the book that I read about this stuff is implied to feel surprised with this group intention.

This movie is underrated .The dark building and the fact they are locked in creates greater tension then if it was during the day and they were outside.Some of the camera angles are brilliant when the infected rush the uninfected.
Am I the only one who thinks the amount of ppl that died was unnecessary. Like once they realized it was an infection, common sense should of made them kill off the ppl who were infected while they weren’t really a threat. BUT NO, they waited until the virus completely took over the infected and made them very aggressive. Plus, why when the cop was killed nobody thought to quickly grab his gun for defense? Why when the firefighter, cameraman, and women left the elevator they left the axe/hammer? Why were only THREE ppl sent inside to take samples when it should’ve been an entire squadron?Especially because they don’t know how many are infected and how dangerous the environment is yet. There’s ALOT of things that really
bothered me and it made the movie seem less realistic to me because these ppl lacked common sense on SO MANY LEVELS.

I have more stuff like this that did not make any sense:
1. As was mentioned above..black cop approaching little zombie girl like a morron. I was glad he died. 2. The old landlord was attacked from behind while he was too god damn close to the glass door or wall. Why? He knew, they all knew.. that behind the walls and doors there are dangers they cannot see. Why not be more careful and gather around as a group in the center of this room? Or at least fucking avoid the dangerous areas of any room. That was so stupid.
3. Knives and weapons. Why didn't all of them grab some hand weapons from anywhere in that building...? Why only the fireman had one? They were already inside kitchens in apartments. Grab all the weapons and knives you can find you imbacils.
4. How the first CDC guy was beaten was dumb. He of all people should have been way more careful and not getting to close to a god damn infected.

@@wateryoutalkingabout6113 rabies is a virus that infects animals that can be spread to humans, in animals it makes the animals aggressive, foaming at the mouth, and for some reason scared of water, in humans, I haven't researched much on it but I think that it shows the same symptoms, although usually less aggressive

At my high school a few years ago (2014 I think) we had this thing we'd call "Lock In" pretty much a night where students sleep,play video games, and party all Friday night in the school and are let out in the a.m.
The previous year they had a terrible selection in horror movies and that was a bust since the horror movie marathon was supposed to be one of if not the corner stone of the event given that our auditorium/theater was massive and had an old school horror movie aesthetic with it. So that year I was in charge of the horror movies and I thought it be a good idea and brought this one for the night and holy crap this one got a standing ovation and people were applauding when it ended.
I also got my first kiss that night but that's besides the point lol

This is a good film. The original move shot in Spain (w/English subs) is even better yet! The original is based on a religious based disease started by a demon that possessed a human woman who then got infected with Ebola or something along those lines. The result was a hyper-contagious disease that was a way for the demon to possess multiple vessels at once, basically spreading like a disease except that each infected person also became possessed. It was an original story unlike any other zombie infection. When the6 concerted this exceptional horror movie into its American version they changed a few things and one of those things was the original disease concept that was so awesome! Instead they made the disease a virus similar to rabies with no religious aspects whatsoever. Bad move.
The original is scary, has a fantastic story to tell and a few characters that you find yourself actually caring about. Those are the three things you must have to create a truly exceptional horror film. The Spanish version has all three of those, but in greater quantities. The English version is still good, just not great.
If you choose to watch this movie, start with the Spanish version. Then go watch the second Spanish sequel which is also exceptional. Together you get 3-4 hours of sitting on the edge of your seat scary films with great stories! The 3rd instalment is not really worth watching and the same with the 4th. Do yourself a favour and watch the first two films!

Your whole perception of horror is entirely subjective, as the majority, everyone can disagree or agree, regardless of the explanation. So saying it is less scary because you're against the idea, you're not proving anything at all.
@@leorousseau8668 Horror tends to work better if its realistic. That's why movies like this are scary for most people but movies that rely on the supernatural only scare a niche group of people.
Yeah I saw Rec and Rec2 and Rec3. Thankfully, I speak Spanish so I got to enjoy it in it's original language without the need for subtitles. The concept behind the reason for the disease being a demonic one, is actually quite plausible if you believe in the supernatural and God/Devil. Eitherway, made for a Helluva fun movie!! AND, AND, it made more sense as to WHY the ZOMBIES bit.. Quarantine with its mutated rabies plot, is also VERY plausible and I fear has happened in real life somewhere in the past, BUT, NOT with the ZOMBIE outcome so many movies depict. Honestly I do not KNOW where that concept of diseases turning humans and now animals into the LIVING DEAD even came from(tongue in cheek), but I have to say, with the current outbreak of a certain virus in 2020, I am NOT seeing ZOMBIES. I do see alot of dead people!(PING!!). But seriously though folks, REC was better..
Just watched this 2 nights ago and it’s so damn good, definitely one of the better found- footage films of that time with paranormal activity and VHS.

In my opinion quarentine sucks ass when compared to REC, i would advice y'all to watch the original REC with subtitles, i know english speakers aren't used to watch a movie in a foreign language, but this time, REC is highly worth it

Rec is a better movie but the explanation it gives to the phenomenon is very different to what Quarantine does and I liked that more. Rec 3 and 4 were nothing like the first two.

I'm aware that quarantine is an American remake.
Iv only ever seen subtitled versions of it so I don't think there are any english language versions. But be aware that the "outbreak" in Rec is different than the ones in this movie. Here it's a virus in Rec it's basicly weaponize demon possession.

The hate on Quarantine is overrated. I normally don't like American horror remakes, but Quarantine did justice on remaking the iconic Spanish horror flick. I LOVED BOTH! Both lead actresses were great, the zombies were terrifying, the claustrophobic apartment was effective.

The only issue I can see with this movie is the protagonists that we are supposed to feel sympathetic towards are in the wrong. As this is a viral outbreak the CDC are in the right to contain them and their attempts to break out are selfish and would spread the virus.

If i was ever in a situation like what is shown in this movie series, i can say with 100% certainty that i would try killing the infected or die trying before i tried escaping. I would hope other people would attempt the same
Walberto Iii fear combined with fight or flight is going to make the majority of humans try to run especially when you're out numbered like they were in the end. There is nothing you are going to be able to do to semi bullet resistant, fast creatures that don't really care about their own survival in close quarters while being outnumbered and with your bare hands lol
This is one of those few movies that actually scared me. Would recommend it if you haven’t seen it yet.
Spoilers for Quarantine 2:Terminal
In the film passengers board
"Trans-Sky Air" and a man Henry smuggled lab rats on board but he said they were hamsters
It bit an overweight man and he became infected
The pilots landed at the airport and an bag mover guy directed them to the Tarmac to escape and then the CDC arrived and locks the terminal down and did the same thing in Quarantine
"YOU ARE NOW UNDER QUARANTINE"
Later in the film a cat gets infected and attacks CDC agents and passengers
At the ending George (child) check's Henrys bag and finds out he was part of the "Doomsday Cult"
He stated that "The globe needed a plague" and he had virus samples and an audio speaker inside his bag.
Henry injects his eye with some virus thingy
Also an injured CDC agent said
National security or something
Also during the CDCs "Procedure" is injecting some passengers with an unknown medicine which later turns the injured into zombies
This is all i know about that
so somethings are probrably wrong
Edit:I forgot to mention the Co-Pilot was sick and said it was a cold and said the dogs in his neighborhood were all sick

I saw a Mojo list of 10 endings that ruined movies and one was Rec. Boiling down to audiences going "Demon possession and the Vatican? Really? Uhhh lame." I like Rec more but even for movies a biological agent seems less wonky than pseudo religion nonsense.

I think I can agree with that, everything was fine until demons/religion were mentioned. The point of the movie was to be a sort of mockumentary? Or something so natural/real the religious content did ruin it.
Are you guys serious? Well, for many the religious explanation is specifically that what makes Rec so special and great. It makes it something different than your standart Zombie Virus Background.

what is that movie with the virus or pathagen that makes people go blind but instead of darkness (like with blindness) its like the eyes are overloaded with light it came out sometime between 2003 and 2006 and I remember the main protagonist was already blind and she had to teach the new afflicted how to adapt. I remember it clearly but the name is another story. Can anyone help me out?
Do you mean the film Blindness that came out in 2008? Starring Mark Ruffalo and Julianne Moore? If I remember correctly, there was a blindness causing disease and Juliannes character was the only one that could see? I remember watching that movie and it stuck with me

reversecolin1256788 that movie terrified me as a kid and the funniest part is that no zombies or flesh eating pathogens were involved just the fact it makes you go blind and the world just fell apart...I think the being blind and alone this is what scared me the most I can't fathom what I would if thrust into a situation like that and I'm not talking about being stuck in a cave

[REC] is a million times better than Quarantine. Should’ve did that film to give it more publicity cuz the franchise deserves it. Quarantine literally is just a copy paste American version because it made a lot of money over in Spain. So they wanted to make money in America, so they did almost everything worst and added CG blood in the camera bashing scene nuff said.
Darryl more people know Quarentine, so it's the plain choice to do first so people click and then explain what REC was to draw them to that film as well. Also, unlike REC, this is more of a realistic virus as Rabies actually exists and can be modified, but REC is a little harder to explain as realistically as it's more religious.

Darryl with Quarantine made Rec was doing better for their last films they Said, but my opinion tells Me The first Rec was Good and the rest sucked why weird virus and demon Possessed shit when that's not even scary? More like a fucking zombie outbreak in a apartment That is something we don't see very often, and Quarantine isn't like Rec, it's freaking zombies in it, Rec was just crazy in The End, The first movie like i Said was Good but then they fell off The bridge and it sucked even more, wish they only made The first One and skipped The last ones
