I remember reading the writing on the wall and realizing that its actually an easter egg paying tribute to Dawn of the Dead 2004 :P Love that these games are filled with small stuff like this.

I soon realized that some of the rescuers that help the survivors are turned into infected cause of the survivors virus being carried. Like the helicopter crash and other attempts of rescue.
The helicopter crashes weren't caused by the survivors they were actually bitten before letting the survivors on the helicopter. That's why when you play no mercy sometimes the chopper pilot on the radio will say "I'm gonna be running a bit late, I just had... An incident." The reluctancy to tell then that it was an incident indicates he didn't wanna tell them he got bit its pretty cool of valve to include that.

Where nick shot the pilot and they said that the pilot began acting violently before landing and was acting weird before they got to the chopper.

Yeah and the fact that the left for dead characters are the only known to be immune mostly males are immune as well and based off the fact that this virus often mutates from being airborne, to water, to bodily fluid, even if people managed to survive the hoards and special infected, a strain of the virus would eventually get them even if not bitten
@ZombieFan4tic I have a theory that most if not every single person who is “immune“ to the green flue are actually carriers and they aren’t affected by the virus because of genetics.
A Left4Dead3 would be awesome, but Valve is obviously scared of the number 3.. :-(

this game legitimately gives you a sense of "of fuck, lets get the fuck outta here!" kind of fear - especially with that opening scene

what makes the green flu scary is that it constantly changes.

the next airborne
it also constantly mutates the infected and makes them more erratic and more hostile which is horrifying if we get a 12th week of the pandemic there will problably be new special infected like one who has multiple arms and tumors on the outside of the body
14 years later, still a top tier game.
Oh god the nostalgia of this game makes me play it again.

No, a remaster is not needed a ton of people still play LFD2. LFD3 would be more correct. But Valve has no reason to make a new game since steam gives them mountains of money. Sad really ):

It can't be their not dead, their infected meaning they are still alive and still require basic human needs such as water and food to survive.

The ending of the Bridge is basically the military blocking off their advance with the intent to starve the zombies to death. Then after a while they will come back and clean up.

So this is what happened to the pilot who came to rescue you. The survivors were carriers but didn't show signs but being around them caused them to get infected.
The pilot mentioned he was bit before he picked them up. So he was on borrowed time either way.

I couldn't concentrate while watching the video, my brain could not stop making me remember all of L4D 1 and 2 characters yelling: RELOADING
My theories of the Specials are the Spitters are individuals who's stomach acid was created affected by the virus, the Hunters had mutated endurance & cardio, smokers I believe their tongues & intestines fused together, Boomers were mutated to 'herd' the infected, Jockeys had a different version of endurance & cardio, Chargers had mutated testosterones while the Tanks were their testosterones mutating extremely, Witches I admit I have hard time theorizing for them
I know I'm late but maybe the witch was a ambush type for people unaware.
Nah she got infected while I was possessing her and retained some of my powers
For the witch I think it happened because it infected her brain or it killed her like a normal zombie or took over
the witch probably had a very severe hormonal change, causing most of the protein to be distributed into making the nails and making her hostile

You can one-shot her with a point blank shotgun blast to the head I believe.
Do it while she is still weeping, if you do it right you might kill her before she can even get up.

Just run up with a shotgun, snipers work too but is harder.

I love how much personality you can gather from just that short clip of the INTRO CUTSCENE of Left 4 Dead from each of the characters. Even in like, 30 seconds, you can see a dynamic within the group and kind of what each person is like. Left 4 Dead is a masterpiece of a game.
In early versions of the game the witch used to have black hair and dark grey clothing and also acted different, the devs stated that they originally planned to have her attack the whole team but they later changed this because it made facing her really difficult.

Can I just bring some attention to how unbelievably good the trailers for L4D and L4D2 were? The fact that as each special infected form was discussed, we had such good footage to go with it is a testament to how the trailers basically doubled as a tutorial for the game. If you watched the trailer, you basically understood
1) that this was a shooter/survival game
2) it involved teamwork
3) how each zombie form worked
This significantly eased the learning curve of the game as watching the trailer told you almost everything you needed to know about the game.

The bioweapon theory makes a lot of sense, since it's repeatedly hinted that CEDA had no idea what caused the outbreak and where it came from. The military also prioritizing carriers over non-carriers and killing those who try to breach fortifications to escape the Infected, while also experimenting on the original four survivors gives weight to the theory, since it would explain why the military doesn't give a crap about saving lives and them trying to steal all the credit from CEDA.

It's funny when the characters advice each other 'there's a witch, turn off the lights'. Blasting a witch right in the face with your flashlight IS a bad move, but that precaution isn't anywhere near worth the vision loss.
Interesting info, there is a mission in Payday2 to steal infected patient blood, there is also a 50/50 chance Bill will spawn at the beginning area.

It would be cool if their was a zombie class called Siren which lured you with the sound of a survivor calling for help. To make this seem more believable there should be 50% chance for if it’s a real survivor or not.
