Having a boat would be a literal safecard during any sort of apocalypse, it’s even better if you live right next to the docks that has them! I have a few reasons why.
1. Most boats come with water filtration systems so you wouldn’t have to worry about water, if you brought a fishing rod too then you’d pretty much have an ocean’s supply of food.
2. If there is a nuclear war, no one is going to send a nuke into the middle of the dang ocean.
3. Zombies can’t swim.
Now, there are more reasons, but I have to practice my shooting and traps, see y’all 👋

My question is how Keith survived the apocalypse- don't remember if Ellis ever implied that he did but it'd be funny if he were to show up out of nowhere fully equipped and battle worn from all the shenanigans he got into.
He'd also have burn scars (ellis mentioned he got burned twice), prosthetic fingers and legs (ellis mentioned him losing those), and a lot more visible scars due to how much shit he's been through (Making homemade bumpercars out of lawnmowers only to fall under, nearly drowning in the tunnel of love, being tear gassed while camping on top of a roof, camping in the middle of a military bomb testing site, being stabbed by a homeless guy who he thought was a "ghost" in the middle of a graveyard, nearly dying after eating 5 pounds of sushi, and fell underneath an active rollercoaster)

One of the worst things during these apocalypse scenarios is you do not know who you can trust and that will basically turn majority of survivors against one another making the whole ability to build up groups close to impossible comparing to how its shown in films, stories and games.

there is no realistic way of thinking what type of zombie that could be. 28 days later have a solid explanation that the virus is some sort of highly evolved rabies which not kill you just make you to be a super human with rabies that are able to run but if you are dead then you will not be infected, the walking dead virus can infect both the living and death so if that person dies he/she can still be a zombie. all of that is possible depending on the situation, so it's a matter of luck really, just hope the virus are just some reanimation virus that controls what the user do but with some limitation rather than idk some super virus that makes the host go beyond human limit and ran as fast as a antelope

Rotting muscles and bone structure wouldn't be very effective and would be relatively easy to beat if you did it right. Of course, L4D and 28 Days Later scenarios are much worse, since they aren't technically dead and can just keep running at you.

a lot of people i know think that the goal of the zombies in L4D (just like all other zombie media) is to bitter and infect. i always have a good laugh when i shoot that idea down the fact fact that after the zombies kill all the survivors, they stop. they start attacking each other. and the fact that when you get knocked down, the zombies dont attempt to bite, they kick. and punch. and tear. they just try to kill. if you actually play versus and you're behind where the survivors can see, you'll notice that if the survivors are idle for long enough, the zombies outside start to attack each other. they get violent. they attack. they'll even kill all others if the survivors wait for long enough. and the special infected can attack and kill regular zombies in just one hit! its always fun.
We really really need a remaster to this master piece of a game both l4d and l4d2. much love to the game and us fans that have supported it for so many years ❤

Query: Wouldn't running undead tear their muscles to shreds within the first few weeks of infection? I mean their muscles wouldn't be able to regenerate after the damage dealt by sprinting full tilt all the time, not like living humans. The initial outbreaks would still be terrifying.
Does the idea hold merit? It was kinda noted in the video but in a different way.
It does, tearing tendons and muscles is not that hard to do.
Most people live a sedentary life style, so even if they are not fat, they won't be able to run for hours.
Most people that are decently healthy can run for around maybe 40 minutes without suffering trauma.
Anything over 2-3 hours will be too much and once a tendon is torn the muscle it is connected to is pretty much useless.
Seeing as this is legs we are talking about, this means they can no longer walk or run.
And this is assuming they don't step badly while running, which can lead to torn tendons instantly, depending on how bad it was.
What's more hilarious is that humans are built as endurance runners, so as long as we run at a fair pace and are trained for it, we can run for really long periods of time.
Essentially sprinting will wear a body faster and is likely to cause more injuries, which is what these zombies tend to do.
Give them a week to run around and then go for a cross among the bodies who can't move because of torn tendons.

Seeing it in gameplay is different from the potential being discussed. Wouldn't the wear and tear incurred by the infected just pile on and render their limbs useless after weeks of use?

This is also kinda forgetting the fact that most guns are loud enough to permanently damage your hearing without adequate hearing protection. Anything more powerful than a standard handgun is monstrously loud and will alert pretty much everybody within a 50+ foot radius, as well as, y'know, zombies.
So melee weapons are your only option if you wanna take the silent route, so you better get good at CQC fairly quickly.

Watching this in 2020 hits a little bit different.
The reason the walker in the second episode of the walking dead was able to use a brick to break a window but never see a walker using a tool again was because they had a different writer back then and then that person got replaced so everything changed and the walkers were no longer runners or thinkers

I feel like hiding is your best option. Basically you need enough food and water to last 2-3 months, and a quiet place to bunker down like a basement. I don't think a gun would help at all, the noise would attract more, and ammo is not going to be everywhere like in the games. Melee weapons might help you kill two or three, but honestly if you're spotted, you're probably gonna die.
If it's common infected then your fine but special infected is a big nope.

Im so late lol. Here's why I wouldnt survive-
-if somebody I cared about died, I would instantly become very depressed.
-No access to a lot of guns or weapons
-Extremely unfit/tired easily
-Very picky
-I don't know anything about medicines or anything
-I'd have a bunch of things that would slow me down (people personal items, unnecessary items, clothes, etc)
-I mean I'm very un-cordinated and wouldny be able to shoot/fight without hurting myself/someone else
-Don't live somewhere with Bunker/gated community or very fortified place

Hiding would actually work well if you kept quite and didn't alert any infected also had enough food and water to survive a month.
The houses here in asia are like mini fortresses i mean my windows have metal bars in front of them and concrete walls around my house with the metal fence like thingies up top metal gate and i could place barbed wires there and i have enough food to last a month and im pretty used to not eating for a more than a day but my immune systems weak and not a lot of weapons just a hammer and an axe and no guns i have a ton of clothes that could be useful you never know my neighbors house has no defenses except for a gate and a wall my other two neighbors have huge houses with heavy fortifications such as a huge metal gate huge metal fences barbed wires and dogs they dont have guns though one of my neighbors have a two story house with heavy fortifications too asia is a country with some fort like houses and my place has a lot of fort like houses but then again tanks can destroy most things and many people here are bodybuilders so theyll probably mutate into tanks

Countries like Norway, Sweden or Russia would be pretty good places to survive. If you just stock up on a whole loade of canned foods and hide out far away from any big city or town (which is really easy in the those 3 countries due to them being very lightly populated) you would most likely be fine

You laugh at the walking dead slow zombies but the civilisation destroying aspect of that outbreak is the idea that people will turn as a result of any death so long as it wasn't a result of traumatic head injury.
People don't just die like that randomly and instantly, if this zombie apocalypse happened, it would be simple to contain: Make people sleep in individual locked chambers, since zombies cannot open such doors.
Z Nation had a nod to this by having people shoot dying people in the head. So if you were on your last legs you'd do a living funeral and then be executed to stop you coming back.

The fact that it requires skill to even play the expert realism of left 4 dead 2, leaves no chance for a normal human being to survive an actual zombie (infected) apocalypse from left 4 dead 2 to real life, better yet, just imagine the special infected just jumpscare you out of nowhere to begin with (they LOVE to hide and camp from corners), I hate that part ingame, but can't imagine surviving it in real life

Martin H hey I think they actually said that the zombies are only attracted to loud piercing noise ie... car alarm, loud beeping, store alarm and activating a mechanical lift. Which would make sense when you think about it. They are most likely to be used to loud noises due to tanks and crumbling buildings but a loud piercing noise would be unusual and irritating.

Actually getting stomach acid on your skin wouldn't be much of an issue. As long as you you flush the affected area with clean water right away, you won't even get a 1st degree burn. Hell, you would be hard pressed to get a mild rash. Stomach acid is a fairly diluted solution composed of primarily hydrochloric acid as the main caustic substance, combined with a bunch of salts and live bacteria and enzymes that all work together to break down food SLOWLY. It's not like something out of a scene from one of the "Alien" movies when a Xeno gets wounded and their iconic green blood instantly starts disentigrating anything it touches. Acids dont really work that way, especially when talking about heavily diluted acid solutions like stomach acid. In order for it to cause any real dermal damage, it would have to be from a stomach that had something unhealthy going on (like an individual who hasn't eaten for a long period of time, or a person who is extremely malnourished; or someone who is experiencing some type of physiological disorder involving the gastrointestinal tract), and it would have to remain on the skin for an extended period of time. Also, a poor job of flushing the area could see one develop some epidermal irritation resembling a mild case of cellulitis. For instance if a bit of it splashed on to a persons arm and was merely wiped off in some fashion as one may wipe away excess sweat or a spilled beverage, but not at all washed or flushed with water and subsequently cleaned with soap and water; it's quite likely the affected person would feel some itching/mild tingling/burning/irritatation within the course of a few hours. Flushing thoroughly with plain old water is the number one way to prevent any future complications, which can actually include things like nerve damage and permanent scarring/skin discoloration, abnormal hair loss or growth, etc. All things considered however, it would more or less require the proverbial 'perfect storm' of circumstances to see any ACTUAL relative damage or negative outcome. So again, hardly the images of dissolving soft tissues and charred flesh people seem to have in their minds.
Also, I've been teaching people proper firearm use and safety for a number of years now. Not once have I witnessed personally a single person break their wrist while firing a shotgun, let alone any shoulder fired weapon platform for that matter. The closest I've even heard even related to such foolishness (that would be considered actually credible) was a story from a personal friend firing a handgun chambered in S&W .500 Magnum, and this person was by no means a first time shooter at the time. He just wanted to fire a proverbial "hand cannon" while out knocking around with a friend who had just bought the firearm in question on a whim shortly after they were first publicly available. He was afraid to be the first one to shoot it, since it really does have a substantial amount of recoil, and my friend being one of those "Big Man" or "Don't be such a bitch" types very earnestly and boisterously volunteered himself to do so. He figured it couldn't be all too different from a .44 Magnum or from a .50 AE Auto, both of which he owns personally. Well, he thought wrong. When he fired the weapon, it fired him right back and threw his wrist up into the air with immense enthusiasm, both the cause and effect of which my friend was not prepared for. Plus, the firearm itself weighs a substantial amount and simple physics dictates that the more massive an object is then the more opposite force it's going to take to move it in any direction, more of which is required if the object is already in motion and not at rest since the force acted upon it must be greater or equal than the force that set it in motion. He most definitely was not prepared for this Newtonian themed moment of shock and evidently did not apply enough aformentioned force to said object in motion, resulting in some mild muscle and ligament damage in his firing position wrist and a small laceration on the middle finger of his off-hand due to it slipping off suddenly and catching the inside of the trigger guard somehow as well as a fingernail edge of his gun hand. Essentially, he walked away with a bloody middle finger, a mildly sprained wrist, a decent adrenaline buzz, and a mildly bruised ego. No medical attention required, and truthfully I think his damaged pride was the bigger deal to him than any physical reprucussions.
Now an actual fracture occuring frorm merely firing a weapon? Sure it can happen in theory, but purely as a direct result of improper and unsafe use of the tool, and more than likely occuring in the collar bone than anywhere else due to a combination of improper shouldering of a rifle or long-gun and the fact that these firearms have more of a linear direction of recoil as opposed to a more vertical line or travel; which is actually referred to nowdays as 'muzzle flip' whereas the term "recoil" tends to reference the former, and/or the overall combined resulting effects that make up the 'kick' a firearm can produce. Simply more examples of firearms not being the problem, but the person operating one that leads to negativity.

Two notes, boomers have an altered gi tract that produces large quantities of heavily infected bile. The vomit isn't meant to kill or maim, it's meant to blind, infect, and alert only. Spitters produce an altered and concentrated form of stomach acid that they spit out in a mucus-encased bolus. Spitter goo is observably more reactive than simple HCl, as it bubbles and fizzes when it comes in contact with most surfaces. Additionally, spitter acid is capable of disintegrating polymers and plastics which normal stomach acid can't do.

How to Survive L4D:
1. Be lucky/ Be immune.
2. Live in the Rural Midwest (Farm with it's own well).
3. Ignored the ATF pre-infection.
4. Be lucky.
Merely using medieval or classical era equipment and tactics would be enough to completely slaughter most zombie hordes. Defensive formations would easily hold, a zombie horde is essentially the world's worst infantry. Even the worst armor of the time could easily stand up to bites and scratches.

Also take into account that reloading gun doesn't work like in the game.
You may have loads of ammunition but magazines/clips are limited. 100 9mm bullets but you have only 3 handgun magazine that holds 8-13 rounds, so you can only shoot for as many as 24 - 39 times before spending time to reload the magazines.
