Oh man. I grinded tf out of this game when it came out.

That’s me but it’s the game dying light
The fact the suiciders say help me before rushing at you shows that the most horrifying thing about this virus is that the hosts/ victim infected may be sentient still, they are still alive but unable to speak, talk or feel, only think and for some reason with the exploders they are the only ones that can still speak, but barely.
Probably because the virus in them took less hold of the brain, more of the body.
But then they say byby when they explode never mind that bloaters in dead island 2

@@Batchall_Accepted I always wondered why _only the head_ applied. The brain needs oxygen to function and send signals to the rest of the body such as the legs and the mouth/jaw to chew flesh. So shots to the chest can kill the brain indirectly.
@@Batchall_Accepted yeah that kinda pisses me off too the fact that zombies only get headshots but it sorta makes sense in the way that zombies can regenerate as zombie movies and novels say but resident evil makes it all dissapear since the way resident evil makes it that shots to any body parts still hurt and can wound and stop them like what you said and that is more logical
That's one of the fixes i loved in riptide, most basic zombies would die instantly if they were domed

Fun fact the orginal developer techland never even seemed interested in a direct sequel and wanted to move on to a spiritual sucesssor that became dying light. Since then theres been 3-4 developers assaigned to DI2s devlepment and its clear that its in development hell for quite a while now.

That dead island trailer at end traumatized me, it was so unsettling, I've only watched it once and never watched it again...

it was real.... that would happen in a zombie apocalypse... the game was suppose to have children in it but they had to take it down.. in the scene where you kill magumbes wife and daughter.... the daughter was suppose to be smaller than the rest.. but people iddnt wanna kill little kids
When I was in the hotel, I actually found that couple's bodies. It was crazy.

I first played Dead Island last winter, and completely cheesed the first thug encounter in the lifeguard station by just spinning around him and throwing a propane tank till he died. The propane tank became something of a signature weapon that playthrough.

The first time I encountered an Infected in Dead Island, it freaked me out SO GOD DAMN MUCH! Their screams and how fast they run at you make them... It made my blood run cold 😥😥😥

I’ve never played this game, but the idea of zombies reminded me of the Flood from Halo... but I’ve always wondered how the Logic Plague worked on digital AIs when the Flood “consumed” organic matter. I’m assuming that you have a very long list of video ideas, but I can’t find any good videos on this idea. I would love if you would do it
Fro sty it's an extension of the floods origins. The flood started as the precursors veggie the forerunners wiped then out.
The flood can assimilate technology, and would corrupt ai systems like a computer virus
Juliette Moss What I’m confused about is that there was an AI called 032 Mandicant Bias who simply talked to a infected Primordial, and was affected by the Logic Plague. There was no technology involved, both simply talked for 43 years straight. Mandicant was told to keep the Primordial sealed shut and try to find the Floods weakness, but somehow received the Logic Plague without any digital contact. It makes no sense to me on how Mandicant could’ve been infected with the plague if there was no virus made. But I found it interesting that Mandicant was simply talked to and he was infected, but Cortana was nearly infected with it, even though her systems were taken over by the Gravemind and she was being tortured.
Zombies came before the Flood.
Fro sty The Graveminds have to ability to infect anything. Sentient tissue can easily be assimilated. AI though, he talked his way into his programming and corrupted him, showing the floods intelligence
I assumed that the logic plague was basically the flood arguing with the AI and then winning such argument which in turn makes the AIs become “infected” with the Logic plague.
Ok I’m gonna bring up 3 different questions and one point:
1. Why did this video get taken down and then come back?
2. Have you ever thought of covering the Sea Emperor from Subnautica
3. I will wait for all of the suggestions i made to be made into videos and I’m still excited to see them, the Dragonborn especially cuz I love Skyrim

I love the ambience sounds and music in the original dead island. I find them so disturbingly beautiful. The screams, the seagulls, that eerie metal scratch and clangs you hear. Simply amazing

I never got to playing this game, I played Dying Light which was made by same developers but in a different game universe. I always love it when the game offers some explanation for the disease since Dying Light didn’t really. Great video as always!
PC PastaFace Actually, they DID explain it. First off, it's a variant of rabies. Second of all, the GRE created it (yes, the very same "humanitarian relief agency" that your character works for, which created the Antizin drug that prevents you from turning into a zombie) and deliberately released it in Harran to test it, then attempted to cover up their involvement by creating the fiction that there were no survivors.

Ahh... Dead Island. It's been a couple of years since I last lay eyes on you.
I really think Dead Island’s plot was solid even if the story elements weren’t fully executed properly.
I liked how Xian was already a planted spy in the resort emulating Ada Wong, and Purna was a bodyguard already on the island. So it justifies playing as either of them because they have legitimate stakes for following through the mystery.
While the storyline slowly delves deeper into the island’s corporate, industrial, and indigenous history that accumulated into an outbreak.
It’s definitely not as compelling as RE2. But if Dead Island focused more on creating a cohesive story and characters around their amazing environments and atmosphere, they might have been taken a little more seriously than just a double AA title.

Some times i forget this is about video games, you are so well spoken i feel like i'm watching a documental instead of a game.
The end of Rip-Tide was very unfortunate from what I remember. All the survivors thought to be immune ended up turning. Their process was just very slow.
No, Logan, Sam b and Xm survived. If you played dead island epidemic both xain Mia and Sam b survived the boat. And in dead island survivors, Logan appears. Only two that makes you wonder who turned in the end is either John or purna

Haven't played Riptide so I don't know if Ye ever learns that she is the source but learning something like that would be utterly soul-crushing.

The opening cut-scene just made me realize how much of Dead Island was recycled into Dying Light. The end of The Following was basically this word for word.

I've been waiting for this yayayayay
Good video made me reminisce about playing it with my friends in middle school. You forgot the screamer from the second game though, it was a disheveled looking old woman with a exposed brain and wore what looked like a head harness to keep it’s eyes open. It would scream to disorient the player and call more zombies to it’s location.
I actually liked the way Dead Island had the explanation of why some people survived, which is that they have a certain blood type that makes them resistant to the virus. Its annoying how in some games like RE have the virus that one bite will infect you, but there is zero explanation as to why your playable character can survive multiple bites and heal up with an herb. At least in DI that is explained. I like the explanation as to how the virus got started to (cannibalism). Definitely an under-rated game, imho. Some hate the zombie genre, but I personally love it.

Wow from the special infected and stuff I've seen you can do, this feels like a prototype of Dying Light despite being its own game series, same devs, same special zombies, plus from what I see here the story is similar. Dying Light is basically this with some even better ideas and a higher budget.

Mutations in Dead Island is far horrifying than Dying Light though.

@@youtubestudiosucks978 the mutation happens in just a few seconds and the Special Survivor becomes a super zombie. Remember Wayne who transformed into a super zombie? He can't be damaged with weapons or guns and since Dying Light has no guns we can't know how much durable the special zombies in Dying Light is unlike Dead Island who's Super zombie bosses are immune to guns.
@@youtubestudiosucks978 the guns in Dead Island can be modded from poison to explosive ones. So if Super zombies in Dead Island could tank that then those are fucking nightmare fuel itself.
Another fun thing about the suiciders is they can be heard saying "I'm sorry" before exploding

When I was younger I loved this game, I played online with some guy who nodded his game. After that I was invincible and did unbelievable damage. This was only about 2hrs into the game and made it- boring really but it was fun to just sail on zombies without worrying about dying.

I mean they were developed by the same studio but there is no correlation they are different universes
I think dying light is the better game only thing i enjoyed about DI was having 4-5 different characters with variations of skills based on their character

Ricardo G Aside from game mechanics, the Suiciders and the Bombers don't have much in common. The suicider's flesh is just a pulsating mess and are mostly aware of their situation while the Bombers have their guts exposed and run at you out of instinct.

Ben Steel It's also possible that the survivors were *not* immune; they were "asymptomatic carriers" (meaning they were infected, but didn't have any symptoms). The ending of Dead Island: Riptide implies (but does not confirm) that injecting themselves with the mutagens caused the virus to eventually overwhelm the survivors and turn them into a new type of zombie.
On the other hand, Dead Island 2 (which is still under development! Deep Silver has not abandoned the game, they just had a falling out with Yager Development, so now it is Sumo Digital that is writing it) is set in a completely different location, with completely new characters. So the final fate of the survivors from Dead Island will perhaps never be revealed.

I remember reading the Dead Island novels ages ago. I could be wrong but I remember Yerema had tried to educate herself about the modern world, including going to school. This angered her more traditional people who punished her with torture and rape (the rapists themselves became carriers of the virus). What I'm saying is that portraying her father (the one who endorsed her punishments) as in any way sympathetic or right in his actions should be done with caution.
if thats the case then Deep silver have a thing for raep I'd say, Jin is also suggested to be when you rescue her. I know the game and book are two different things but still.
I downloaded the game on my Xbox and so far Dead Island is now one of my favorite zombie games.
