The most terrifying part for me about this movie is that the “zombies” are not actual zombies, they’re still humans but they’re just full of rage and hunger. The biggest symptoms for this movie’s virus are madness and so much hunger, so basically they’re like insane asylum patients full of anger and starvation. That’s just terrifying in a realistic manner.

I'm from Spain and I lived in Barcelona when the movie was released and with my friends, we went to the REC house. There was still a broken glass you could see the fake blood on the floor. It was really fun!

One cool thing is that, in Rec 2, they actually had all of the zombified actors return for the sequel with the same injuries they sustained during the first film.
I don't know if I'm photosensitive, but my grandmother was and she didn't have her first incident until she was about my age so I try to be careful with triggers just in case. So I really appreciate how considerate James is with his warnings and when he advises that I skip an episode due to it, I instead listen to the video like a podcast because I don't want to miss out on any of these great videos.
Gotta LOVE James for his mindfulness of all those stuck inside bored AF, and his commitment to his fans to put out extra content! I commend you to the highest degree my man. Havent missed a kill count yet and dont plan on it 😉
It is great but it's not exactly out of the kindness of his heart. He's stuck inside just like everyone else with not much to do, might as well put out more videos while you have a "captive" audience and capitalize on the views. He's making money off these videos...so now is the best time to put out as much as possible.

The guy at 7:49 is not Spanish but actually Argentinian. His character is called Cesar. This is also accurate because when Argentina went through a crisis in 2001, a lot of Argentinians fled to Spain. Today you can find in Spain as many Argentinians as Spaniards. It is also accurate the fact that he´s a bit xenophobe towards the Chinese characters. Sadly, xenophobia is one of our biggest treats, but it´s based not so much on thinking that the rest are less, but that we are better. Listen carefully to Cesar´s accent. The Italian accent while speaking Spanish is a dead-giveaway of his actual nationality.

James, I know this might get lost in the comments but I feel that it's important for you to know how great this is for me and others. At the moment I'm living in Italy, which is stuck in severe condition due to the COVID outbreak. The whole country is on lockdown, I haven't left my house in almost a month, and I've had little to no human contact while under quarantine. It's been scary and stressful times for me and many others as of late. I've been nervous about this outbreak and haven't been able to take my mind off it fully since it started, which in turn amplified my loneliness and other problems. I often spent these past weeks in a state of high anxiety and very depressed. However, this video gave me the chance to laugh at the problem, your treatment of the film in a jovial manner helped me to laugh at my own situation and make me feel better. I know it must seem silly, but this really helped to take my mind off the outbreak and ease some of my anxiety and stress, for that I thank you. Your small video helped me in a big way, I can't thank you enough.

The one thing that has probably already been explained that I still don’t understand is why didn’t the government tell the firefighters and police to not respond to the call? Even if it was some international government they still should have called them off
Theory: Since its implied that it is a cult, someone high up in the law enforcement area called for them to arrive and at the same time call international government for the case so that the infection can spread.. Explaining both why they managed to get hold of the virus source and why they called up regular people for the job
with the camera looking as if its a real recording not to mention 90% of the cast did there role in real life or were forced to improvise not knowing what comes next made it seem so real which is what makes it so good when the jumpscares happen cause it feels so real
Nah there was this Spanish movie about this blind women and this man who stalked her I watched back in the late 2000's or early 2010's or something. Haven't a clue what it was called but it was pure psychological terror.
I’m pretty sure this existing alone is evidence of how much he cares for his fans. He didn’t have to release this, especially during Covid, and yet he was kind enough to give us this, and the quarantine kill count. Thank you James, for this little gift, and for all of the other things you do for us fans. This helped me get through the beginning of this mess we call Quarantine.
Quarantine is shit next to this movie. It doesn't feel genuine at all since the actors already had a blueprint they just had to follow, the improvisation and lack of scripts is what made REC. so good.

It is a different type of horror. It really creeps me out how close the COVID-19 pandemic is mirroring the movie. Even the supposed cure thing (Forsythia in the movie and chloroquine in real life - don't self medicate!)
Bewildered Gamer those are kinda like Aliens and the Predator franchise, where it’s a mix of horror and action, as opposed to Contagion and Avengers infinity war where they are primarily thriller and action respectively. I know he explained somewhere, but forgot where exactly, wanna say around when he was doing JP/JW and Predator.
I saw the ending as a kid and it used to haunt me until I was a teen and was determined to watch the movie but never found it. Now as an adult I finally found it again through Dead Meat and I'm so glad I've been binging Kill Count!

Javier Botet is literally so good in everything he's been in, like Conjuring 2 (as Crooked Man), Insidious: The Last Key (as KeyFace), Mama (as Mama), and Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark (as The Jangly Man). He is literally so visually horrifying and just wrong in those scenes but it's honestly wonderful to watch ❤

This is one of those movies that has the simplest plot (zombie infection and your trapped in a building) but they do it so well it feels completely different and amazing

[•REC] is such a good movie, and the dedication to realism actually made me nervous when watching, and being a guy who watches at least two horror movies a day, and regularly laughs, it was a big feat.
People are getting crazy over TP and hand sanitizer during this. My grandmother’s hairstylist said someone actually stole a big bottle of hand sanitizer from her shop before she closed down for the time being. It’s some next-level shit honestly.
I've learned over the years that you can't fully appreciate a film until you have seen the way it was produced. Oddly enough, Team America: World Police taught me that. Production on that film was INCREDIBLE and the behind the scenes DVD extras are phenomenal. Honestly, that movie should have won an Academy Award.
I got out of the hospital about a week ago, The reason is because I got in a car accident. A piece of wood went threw my eye socket into my brain I am now blind in my left eye because of that. I am fine but there was a really low chance of me surviving and I’m still here. :)
For photosensitive people who don't want to sit this one out, skip these parts 3:42 - 3:52 Just them entering the building 4:57 - 5:28 - People outside announce that they sealed off the building for safety reasons. Injured guy is screwed 7:31 - 7:51- No T.V's or phones are working, people outside tell them to stop trying to get out. Back door is locked. 9:22 - 9:32 - Men in hazmat suits enter the building 10:37 - 11:28 - Turns out the little girl is actually infected. She pukes blood onto her mother and runs upstairs. There are a couple parts I didn't exclude because the lights are incredibly dim. If you're EXTREMELY sensitive to them, just sit it out completely.

Rec is the movie that made me realize I was ignoring the rest of the world's horror market. Because of that, I now watch horror from multiple countries, not just the US. There's some damn good stuff out there!

Train to Busan was the movie that really made me think about the horror genre in other countries and I watch english speaking movies with subtitles on anyways so watching a foreign movie with subtitles is a breeze. At the moment I'm living in Italy, which is stuck in severe condition due to the COVID outbreak. The whole country is on lockdown, I haven't left my house in almost a month, and I've had little to no human contact while under quarantine. It's been scary and stressful times for me and many others as of late. I've been nervous about this outbreak and haven't been able to take my mind off it fully since it started, which in turn amplified my loneliness and other problems. I often spent these past weeks in a state of high anxiety and very depressed. However, this video gave me the chance to laugh at the problem, your treatment of the film in a jovial manner helped me to laugh at my own situation and make me feel better. I know it must seem silly, but this really helped to take my mind off the outbreak and ease some of my anxiety and stress, for that I thank you.
