Its the antithesis of Ditto. While ditto was about the fans loneliness and their side of the parasocial relationship, OMG is about idols identity’s crisis based on what people say about them. Haerin is called a cat by fans and we’ve seen Heesoo call her kitty kang on ditto and now she thinks she’s an actual cat, Hyein has a princess syndrome cause she’s the maknae of the group, Minji is the leader so she thinks she’s actually the doctor helping them all, Dani is a ball of joy of the group so she becomes stuck in this mindset even laughing at nothing and Hanni has the most incredible metaphor to the parasocial relationship from the idol pov: they dance, sing, talk to us, cheer us up, comfort us when we’re down, take pictures for us…basically live for us without knowing us. Eventually in the video Dani is able to remember who she actually is but a sane person in a crowd of crazy people is seen as the craziest so nobody believes her. The ending is very meta and it represents both the haters and the fans who spent too much time and energy analyzing and criticizing everything idols put out and Dr Minji is there to remind us that it isn’t that deep.

(snow white, sleeping beauty, and the revenant references) - this also reminds me of (g)-idle’s ‘nxde’ especially the line “put on my beautiful self” as idols when what actually want is to bare their souls, show their authentic self more even when they get hated for it) • haerin - ever since debut, both fans and non-fans have said haerin looks like a cat _so much_ that she actually starts to believe she’s a cat • minji is the unofficial leader of the group (there are no positions in nwjns, but a lot of people, and myself included, think she has leadership qualities) and she’s the oldest. so she’s been known to take care of her members very well. hence, her thinking she is a doctor who’s under pressure to take care of her members.” we can also see that in 2:17, she finally decided to check up on her own self too. she needs someone to attend to her needs as well since she is also still young. when people are constantly telling idols what they should do & how to behave or have such audacity to dictate their lives, it will eventually get _into_ them. there is a chance that they may actually, subconsciously, start _believing them._ (this also reminds me of _the rise of bangtan ep 4_ or also known as the times where namjoon expressed his crisis of how he wrestled with his own thoughts that deals with the society’s opinion about him & idols in general, and how he also came up with the resolution of why would he even tried so hard to categorize & box his identity if he is an idol or an artist, when he can just be _himself_ without confinements). because by projecting things towards these artists & feel the need to tweak almost everything about them can be equal to insisting that they should replace their real selves in order to please us just because we are the source of their income and we are the ones making them relevant; which *ironically* made us become deeply into them and stan them in the first place because there are parts of them that are authentic... that are ‘very human’ which are relatable. and when hanni said, *_“now i am ashamed that i was worried. it doesn’t matter who i am anymore. i exist for you.”_* it’s just heartbreaking. because there are k-pop idols who feel sorry and people even guilt trip them when they are expressing their honest feelings. it’s sad that when they finally choose to share their genuine concerns, the public tends to deem them as ungrateful for all the platform, fame/success, support, and all those other things they have - _as if all these things would immune them from feeling empty or restless_ from doing what they used to be passionate about for a long time. when they are being invalidated, eventually, they may perceive that voicing out their thoughts and emotions are pointless since they are always available for fans, but they rarely get to have someone who will listen to them & hold space for them. Just want to add what the director said These members of NewJeans are innocent and fun just like kids around their age. They're very imaginative and freely express themselves which seems nice. In fact, ADOR doesn't really give too many restrictions to these kids. But since these kids are exposed to the public, certain things they do can be interpreted in many ways and as a result, those things may be cut out regardless of their real intent. So I thought, these kids are still kids with free thoughts. What if they start to lose this side of them as a result of people's evaluations and misunderstandings? What if they end up restricting themselves from expressing themselves as artists or humans? Once that thought hit me, the scenario wrote itself in that direction.
This is the most well-presented argument I've seen for a meaning to this MV. A lot of this was already floating around in my head after watching OMG, thank you for putting it into words so well.

Great reaction and analysis. IMO, OMG is foreseeing NewJeans members in the future having mental breakdowns and being institutionalized from their traumatic experiences as Kpop Idols. Yeah, tragic. OMG is a huge meta statement about the parasocial potentially toxic relationship between Kpop Idols and their fans, but from the Kpop Idol perspective. Ditto is about the same parasocial potentially toxic/potentially beneficial relationship, but from the fan perspective. You can see that the 2 mv's are related from the Ditto video dance clips shown on the OMG video. In OMG NewJeans members are being treated after having mental breakdowns from being Kpop Idols. Hanni (as Siri/Steve Jobs with round glasses, black t-shirt and jeans and sneakers) seems to have accepted her new role in life (being Siri), saying that she has lost her sense of self, that she only exists for her phone owner (fans) and to fulfil the needs of her owner (fans) (like Kpop idols are want to do, not just iPhones). Harein thinks she is a cat, becoming what her fandom thinks about her in real life (that she is the living embodiment of a cat). Harein is seen nibling on cat food. Heyein is the member with the most entertainment industry experience, having been a busy child actress and here she is lost in the fairytale of one of her early roles (being lost in how her fans think of her). Minji is the Unnie (the actual oldest member who has a clear role to play in any Kpop Idol group), trying to take care of her members and bringing them to be treated (fulfilling the Unnie role that her fans expect from her). Note that at one point in the video, she stands over HERSELF, and brings herself into the ambulance, and obviously needs treatment too as she has also lost her sense of self and is lost in her fan created role. Only Danielle can remember that they are members of NewJeans, but she is institutionalized too, suffering mental issues, but not to the point of losing her memories. She really is in Danielle from NewJeans, but she is imagining that she is still shooting music videos. She is imagining the crew is there. She can't seem to escape her past, while the others have "escaped" their NewJeans past by losing themselves in their own imaginary worlds. BTW, the Bear represents the fandom. Potentially very protective like a moma bear, but also potentially vicious and ferocious and deadly (as toxic Kpop netizens are want to be).

Here I'll share some of my thoughts, From what I see, this mv is for dig deeper to each member personality in this ditto/ ban heeso universe lore The context: Here there are 2 possibilty. 1. ban heeso is lonely, and the newjeans is just imaginary. 2. the newjeans is from different dimensions/time that in touch with ban heeso from 1998. (Just like the movie ditto) You can see from the "ban heeso" yt channel, she mention some of the newjeans personality in the vid descriptions. Turns out hanni in this omg mv thinks she is an iphone/ siri.. I think the accident theory in ditto makes more sense. This is just my little theory and Im also rlly confused 😭 Maybe they had an accident but still exits in Heesoo's imagination and she can see them through camera. ( or all of them are just in Heeseo's imagination) Then she realised they are not rlly exits and destroy the camera. For someone who thought they couldn't figure out the theory, I think you are right on. Typical Hybe to find a way to create amazing music and mvs and yet still take a dig at the industry's more harmful aspects. And no, you weren't the only one who looked for their phone! Laina Sunflower did in her reaction/theory video as well. She and Bookish Theories are two great people to watch when the theory is as entangled and messy as this video felt! These members of NewJeans are innocent and fun just like kids around their age. They're very imaginative and freely express themselves which seems nice. In fact, ADOR doesn't really give too many restrictions to these kids. But since these kids are exposed to the public, certain things they do can be interpreted in many ways and as a result, those things may be cut out regardless of their real intent. So I thought, these kids are still kids with free thoughts. What if they start to lose this side of them as a result of people's evaluations and misunderstandings? What if they end up restricting themselves from expressing themselves as artists or humans? Once that thought hit me, the scenario wrote itself in that direction.

Great reaction and analysis. IMO, OMG is foreseeing NewJeans members in the future having mental breakdowns and being institutionalized from their traumatic experiences as Kpop Idols. Yeah, tragic. OMG is a huge meta statement about the parasocial potentially toxic relationship between Kpop Idols and their fans, but from the Kpop Idol perspective. Ditto is about the same parasocial potentially toxic/potentially beneficial relationship, but from the fan perspective. You can see that the 2 mv's are related from the Ditto video dance clips shown on the OMG video. In OMG NewJeans members are being treated after having mental breakdowns from being Kpop Idols. Hanni (as Siri/Steve Jobs with round glasses, black t-shirt and jeans and sneakers) seems to have accepted her new role in life (being Siri), saying that she has lost her sense of self, that she only exists for her phone owner (fans) and to fulfil the needs of her owner (fans) (like Kpop idols are want to do, not just iPhones). Harein thinks she is a cat, becoming what her fandom thinks about her in real life (that she is the living embodiment of a cat). Harein is seen nibling on cat food. Heyein is the member with the most entertainment industry experience, having been a busy child actress and here she is lost in the fairytale of one of her early roles (being lost in how her fans think of her). Minji is the Unnie (the actual oldest member who has a clear role to play in any Kpop Idol group), trying to take care of her members and bringing them to be treated (fulfilling the Unnie role that her fans expect from her). Note that at one point in the video, she stands over HERSELF, and brings herself into the ambulance, and obviously needs treatment too as she has also lost her sense of self and is lost in her fan created role. Only Danielle can remember that they are members of NewJeans, but she is institutionalized too, suffering mental issues, but not to the point of losing her memories. She really is in Danielle from NewJeans, but she is imagining that she is still shooting music videos. She is imagining the crew is there. She can't seem to escape her past, while the others have "escaped" their NewJeans past by losing themselves in their own imaginary worlds. BTW, the Bear represents the fandom. Potentially very protective like a moma bear, but also potentially vicious and ferocious and deadly (as toxic Kpop netizens are want to be).

From what I see, this mv is for dig deeper to each member personality in this ditto/ ban heeso universe lore
The context:
Here there are 2 possibilty.
1. ban heeso is lonely, and the newjeans is just imaginary.
2. the newjeans is from different dimensions/time that in touch with ban heeso from 1998. (Just like the movie ditto)
You can see from the "ban heeso" yt channel, she mention some of the newjeans personality in the vid descriptions.
From what I can clearly catch:

Typical Hybe to find a way to create amazing music and mvs and yet still take a dig at the industry's more harmful aspects. And no, you weren't the only one who looked for their phone!
