There is two way to interpret this or actually they are one. One is they are patient who experiencing Identity disorder and confuse on the reality, the other one they stuck in the mental facilities not because they are sick but because they are accessing into the multiverse just like Everything Everywhere All at Once movie, so Ditto is part of the universe they have access too, and Kitty Kang in Ditto really has access into a Kitty universe here whereas Danielle is the only who has access into our reality and notice what they really are, and also Minji whenever she access into her doctor universe, that male doctor would be substitute her place as a patient. P.S: And the aftercredit hate commenter fan is actually a variant of Ban Hee Soo in Minji universe. Hinting to reply the haters "Let's go (back to your psych ward)" with a doctor typical sympathetic facial expression.
If you change Hanni's word "I was an iPhone" into "I was an idol", it makes sense. Idol: I exist for you. I'm confused between what others say about me and the real me. I show what you wanna see, speak for you and sing for you. I think the producer of this music video was concerned about the girls losing their creativity and their real-self. When you're young and brave, you have a lot of imagination, and you are not afraid of what others think about you. But as you're getting older, you start to care about what others think, the criticism etc. At the end of the video, someone wrote twit complaining about their work. Idols get a lot of judgement, criticism, and hate only because of the fact that they're idols. They don't deserve that kind of hate. But the idols care about the public, the agency care about the audience's reaction. So as time goes by, they start to lose their originality and value. They show what people want to see just like Hanni said. I guess the intention of the music video is that "Don't lose yourself just because others think that you're strange, weird, whatever. Everyone's a little bit crazy. The real value comes from yourself. Only you."

While working with the members), Director 'Shiin woo seok' learned how pure, clear, and free spirits they had, and This MV contains the concerns of producer Min Hee-jin and director Shin who are concerned that such things are suppressed and restricted by the evaluation and judgment of others. This applies not only to NewJeans, but also to ordinary people who are judged by others and live to satisfy them. It's because if you're conscious of others, you're bound to experience a situation where you lose yourself.
People always missing Hanni dressed as Steve Jobs in the iPhone scene. And the subtle iPhone/Apple background sounds in that scene as well - the licensing fees HYBE must have paid!

My favorite little detail about this mv is how when they are dancing in the party outfits they are in perfect formation but when they are in the white hospital gowns they are still doing the moved perfectly but they are out of formation and it's just so clever when they go back and forth!

My first thought was why didn't you watch the video until the end? There was one final shot that you missed that was important and interesting. In fact, you almost missed the final typing scene. Too quick to get through the video and get it over with, I guess.

I think during there 2year delay they probably found and grown accustomed to attention given they've been practicing it for 2 years so after so much practice they developed there own sound which really impressive considering it takes years for artist to find there own sound even not finding it.
