He's a convicted prisoner being led out to the gallows to be executed by hanging. They usually close the show with this and considering that's at the end of a 2-2.5 hour set for them to still have the energy they do and for Bruce to sound as good as he does singing at his age and after throat operations, it's breathtaking.
To add to that, it is never known why he was a prisoner. I have seen Maiden many times and you are right they do end their shows with this and the energy is just so amazing. Up the Irons!
They don't usually close the show with this. This is in the late part of the show, with The Number Of The Beast but they close it with Run To The Hills, Iron Maiden (is gonna get you! 😂) and Running Free
Every single show of theirs I've been to, this was the final song.
@@robyfiorili They stopped playing it for awhile due to a lawsuit, but have since returned it to the setlist. Every time I have seen them they closed with it. May be different now.
@@donbergeson6771 Every single show of theirs I have been to they closed and jam with Running Free (in the 80s and 90s). In the Live After Death, Running Free is the final song too. I've been a fan for 15 years at that time, and everyone did know Running Free was their final song as well as 2+2=4. Maybe not now
Anyone else hear "SCREAM FOR ME, LONG BEACH!!" during the solo, or have i listened to Live After Death too much?
Every time! Best Live album ever
@@michaelpennington9327 You nailed it!!!
So California, Long Beach Arena, I want you, I want you and you….
Same bro all I hear is scream for me download
I saw them in Milwaukee for that tour, 2nd row, near the center aisle. Steve Harris seemingly looking right at me, singing along to Bruce on certain songs, sweat dripping off him and influencing my musical direction. Instantly my favorite band!!!!!!
Contemplating his life, knowing his death is coming, the five final stages of grief run through this man. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance ... *Awesome lyrics!*
So many to choose from!" Wasted Years "is a pretty powerful song musically and lyrically.
I'll argue ALL DAY that this is the best metal song ever made!!! 💯😎
And you would be correct
Couldnt agree more
Yes...
Its the "Day in the Life" of metal. Anyone that even TRIES to make their 'own version' of it is instantly an asshole and is rightly shunned! Haha!
And I'm a punk rock dude, not when really a metal dude, and even I KNOW THAT! 💯
Hallowed be the name is the best song ever made ! The composition is so simple but unique nobody else had imaginated it!
Rule #1 with Iron Maiden. Gotta watch it LIVE !
They all command the stage
always a great performance
And the crowds are so involved.
Exactly!! The best version of Hallowed Be Thy Name is at the 2001 Rock in Rio!
You really need to see that live to see the truly amazing range of Bruce Dickinsons vocal range. And see why they call him the human Air Raid Siren 🤟🏻🤟🏻
One of the only times I ever recommend the live version over the studio version.
My first Maiden show was for this album 1982, I was 13, I’m am 52 now. Up the Irons for life! This is real Metal 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻
Same as me, born 1970( quess you a 69'r) I watched this show here in Stockholm and Bon Jovi was the opening band 😱🤟🇸🇪
First Maiden show was Powerslave in Seattle. Moved to Bay Area ‘91…
My very first gig on Seventh Son tour Birmingham NEC age 14, they very kindly recorded and released it as Maiden England for me.
I saw them at DotG in 1982 also.
@@ericcrane4871 yep 1982 was the year "Eddie" was executed on stage and Bon Jovi was their opening band with their first song "Runaway" 🤟
Iron Maiden is one of the best live bands EVER. so if you gonna go Maiden you gotta go LIVE
You are wrong. They are not one the best. Saying they are one of the best implies there are bands of equal measure. There is not. Maiden reigns supreme
Fucking rights. Saw them twice and they are still so powerful.
I don't think you guys reacted to the the Iron Maiden song "The Trooper" yet, that's a good one.
Also Aces High
Iron Maidan are straight up Legends 🔥🤘🔥 band, vocals, writing.. all of it & their concerts, pfft “ ammazing” 💯
Fire song & Reaction ♥️ y’all
Iron Maiden are pretty good too...
Holy shit, this song slapped the soul out of my body.
My first time hearing it, I was never much of an Iron Maiden guy, I didn't know they went this HARD and so melodic, and the vocals OMG, that boy has lungs.
Love it love it love it, goes into my music folder immediately.
Shout out to the late Clive Burr on the drums. This was his last appearance on an Iron Maiden record. I never really understood why he was replaced until it was revealed later that Clive had been diagnosed with MS and it left him unable to play and tour.
I'm glad you noticed the energy he is putting out during this song. It's quite something to see live played live \m/
Great react!
Best album, best Maiden song and the best Line Up with the monster Clive Burr on drums!
Best metal drummer (rip)
Up the Irons!
Having a bass player as the main song writer makes for some awesome rhythms.
Yes Phil Lynott was , is ,and always will be the greatest!!! Iron Maiden sound comes from Thin Lizzy. Twin guitars up front. Brian Downey's drums. Yeah.
Alexander The Great by Iron Maiden is a must play song!
"Seventh Son of a Seventh Son"... great song that shows off Bruce Dickinson's amazing vocal talents
and Nickos timing on the snare. dont forget that.
It’s hard to hide those powerful chops..
Every song on every album after number of the beast shows them off. (Those two in the 90s don't count)
Finally someone does a reaction to the studio version!
What the lyrics says and for the musical composition that tell us exactly the moment when he is being killed is one of my favourite songs ever
You need to do the live concert version
Which one lol
@@pierreo33 a live concert clip from the mid 80's .
@@raymondwarmke7094 from live after death from 85. a great concert
@@metadeth578 I glad you liked it sweetie , the older material live and studio are better imo
You need to see the live version! Trust me!
*The 80's live version
82 hammersmith apollo specifically
From Death on the Road
@@allbies Yes, that one is CLASSIC!
LIVE after Death!
Damn now you’re busting out some Iron Maiden! You guys are getting it on today. And yes this is a fire ass song by Iron Maiden you’re gonna love this. The musicianship is off the hook!!!
Should watch the live version from '82, I believe.
or donington 1992
Seen Iron Maiden in the 80s 90s 00 10. Four different decades. Never gets old even took my Eighty old father to see them. He loved it.
That album cover was the best blacklight poster ever
Lol ty i know im aging myself when i say yes and brings back good memories
God be with you, too
If you love the drums you have to listen to them doing Run to the Hills, great lyrics too
Gangland ... Great drumming ...
Up the Irons! Maiden forever! "Wasted Years" , "Fear of the Dark" live in Rio, "Dance of Death" en vivo, "Pashcendale". So many songs.
I'm waiting in my cold cell, when the bell begins to chime... Reflecting on my past life, and it doesn't have much time. So poetic and profound. He's about to be taken to his death, and sings about what he's going through. Been listening to Maiden since 1983. NOTB, Bruce Dickinson's first album as singer of Maiden. That's right BJ 🤘🤘. Up the Irons!
Follow the lyrics on this one... Incredible storytelling.... The 82 live Hammersmith performance is perfect
God level status live performances, I don't say that lightly.
There are many great Iron Maiden songs through their years, some for the lyrics ,some for the amazing music being played and when you can absorb all of it together it really gets deep. i think it would be fun seeing your reaction to their song called -- 22 Acacia avenue it really jams.
Watch them live in concert you will not regret it. Ultimate showmen.
May I suggest "The Red and the Black" Book of Souls, Iron Maiden
Live in Tokyo
Iron Maiden and motown filled both sides of my house growing up. Heard it all. All is good.
also seen these guy's live in 1985 at the fabulous forum, in L.A , it was the peace of mind tour i was 15, and the show was so amazing we went back the next night and bought scalper tickets and the show was just as amazing, and to see Eddie Maiden hover over the crowd was wild, and i still have that ticket stub also...
Saw them twice live. Iron Maiden shows are amazing. Best metal band ever. Up the irons 👊
Up the irons 🤘🤘
Please listen to LIVE performances....
MAIDEN Do it best LIVE !!!! 🤘
South America shows are best .....
The driving rhythm when they come out of the solos is the best moment in hard rock. This band had so much feel.
Clive Burr was such an underrated drummer, Nicko may be more technical but Clive had that swing vibe.
Lol my sister used to be a metal head and all of these songs used to scare the crap out of me lol. Now I’m enjoying them.
react to LIVE Iron maiden only. React to them like you would AcDc....... LIVE only!
Amazing band and song, one of the greatest live bands also
They have a 2022 North American tour happening.....Hopefully 🙏
I freaking love you guy....GREAT SONG...I grew up on Iron maiden.....glad someones representing the old but goodies.....Thank you
Deep, introspective lyrics, powerful & melodic vocals, outstanding musicianship... this song has EVERYTHING!!
You need show the video to this, the live version it is awesome, they're one of the best live performers. It is a about death row. One of the best bands ever and still going. Love them videos, live and in concert must see PLEASE SHOW THEM 🙏❤💕 MUCH LOVE TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 💕BRANDI MODRAK YOU WON'T BE SORRY.
Hey BJ as a drum fan check out Nicko's drumming on Where Eagles Dare and Rime of the Ancient Mariner for your personal enjoyment. He's a beast!
Clive Burr was an Awesome Drummer
The official video was recorded live in 1982 in Hammersmith days before the album was released and is better then the studio version. 40 albums, touring this year and almost 3k of concerts and the lead guitaristS playing in harmony.
I believed this was last time Maiden's drummer, Clive Burr played for the band. He is replaced by their current drummer, Nicko McBrain.
Iron Maiden 🤘🏻 One of the GREATEST bands of all time! I love the stories their songs tell. You need to listen to Rime Of The Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden! It's a 13 minute song but a great story. Love you guys 🤘🏻
What’s that saying....It takes a history teacher two weeks to do a lesson, Iron Maiden gets in done in a 3 to 5 minute song....,
@@warinsidemyhead8939
That's for sure 🤘🏻
I had a cool English teacher play Rime of the Ancient Mariner while the class read the actual poem.
Wish it would have been the live version.
The one from back in the day!
Hey guys, Alice Cooper has a tune with the same title. Hallowed be My name. (Almost the same). Give that a listen , you wont be sorry. Love you guys. Keep listening Stay safe.
Great video, 👍 that was their 3rd album if you want to hear something a little older and more raw listen to the song killers from the 2nd album killers anyway it was a different singer (Paul dianno) not Bruce Dickinson but it's a raw rockin track that I think you'll love , thanks check it out
“Fear of the Dark” in Rio!!!!!!
“Scream for me Asia&BJ!! Screeeeam!!!”
Damn, when are people going to learn... You ALWAYS listen to LIVE Iron Maiden.
Absolutely!!! LIVE 🔥👍🏻
If possible , go to a concert ! It will ruin ur concert going experience for any concert you go to after it! Best stage show u have ever seen! Wish I could send u pics from concert in Boston .EPIC!!!😲
They have 2 classically trained lead guitarists and a legendary singer. Solid band!
And a bassist with the energy and drive of a thousand galloping steeds.
@@Malfehzan proper analysis brother 👌
I've been stuck on listening songs i love with you guys . appreciating that you are taking time to experience these greats. the way you feel the music and the guitars i like watching with you.
Flight Of Icarus is another great Maiden track of you guys want to check out more.
Aahh forget guitar hero ,who cares about some game when you can put a couple pay checks back and buy a real guitar for the a little bit more than a damn game system, buy a guitar screw a game system.
My favorite Maiden song. ❤️❤️❤️ Hope you guys go on a Maiden journey and react to a lot of their songs. 😉
Great, react to "Fear of the Dark live Rock in Rio 2001"
Iron Maiden must be reacted to from their Live versions
i used to turn my pee-chee folder inside out and draw this artwork on it all the time, when i was in high school...
Try listening to "Rime of the Ancient Mariner " from Iron Maiden. It is epic.
I grew up listening to this band being the favorite band of my dads and his 6 brothers in texas this album alone was played NUMEROUS times at bbqs and brings back so many memories, First concert when i was in third grade in Detroit was this band, and i can say listening to them never gets old, Bruce's vocal ability is legendary along with the entire band and will forever be the greatest metal band in my eyes.
I was in middle school the first time I heard Iron Maiden - was 14 the first time I saw them live in the 80's. Will be seeing them live for the 6th time in October at the age of 51 - Iron Maiden, like Rush and a few other bands have been the soundtrack for my entire adult life. It is always great to see other people appreciate them and experience them for the first time.
You guys need a darker background for metal music
One of the rare times where the live version bests the record - should have viewed that....
Same. I always complain when people don't react to the proper studio version, but this is the exception.
Welcome to your Maiden voyage! It's going to be a long, learning, yearning jam session. Check out Fear of the Dark live!
This is a bad ass song by one of the best along with dio sabbath n priest you guys reaction is awesome
Every Iron Maiden reaction should be a live preformance of them 🙉
Yep !
It's about the range of emotions of a man being taken for his execution....
It can’t get any better than that. One of the top 10 heavy metal song of all time.
Love you’re doing this song LIKE EVERY OTHER REACTION CHANNEL…how about stepping out and listening to FLIGHT OF ICARUS?? NOBODY does that song at all…it was literally their first single ever in 1983. Got me into them for damn sure … anything off Piece of Mind !
Amazing song! Flyyyyyy on your wayyyyyyyyy like an eagleeeeee
Sun and steel is my favorite song from piece of mind though
Running Free was their first single in 1980.
@@philsswweightlossdiary2944 maybe technically but that was the Diano era when they were still underground. If a single is released in the forest and no one’s there to hear it does it count? Ha..This was released as mtv was taking off so it’s kinda when they crossed into mainstream I guess. For me anyway. But hey if we could get A & BJ to listen to Diano Maiden all the better!
it wasn't even close to being their first single!
Need to do BLACK SABBATH "Heaven and Hell" with Dio doing vocals, not Ozzy - you will appreciate the vocals and melody for sure.
Iron madien is fucking epic!!!!
Thumbs up all over the place for this one. This is one of the maidens most atmospheric and dynamic Tunes. It is a fan-favorite and there haven't been many tours that they did not play this song on. I would recommend the track fear of the dark as it is another great example of Maidens ability to touch on subtle and also explosive Dynamics. Good stuff. Cheers
The best time to listen to Iron Maiden, is every time that you listen to Iron Maiden.
I got an A+ on my English exam for the lyrics of this song in poetry section
Used the same method in German , learned a poem by singing along the intoned poem.
4:07 hell yeah u feelin it! the other maiden songs u should check out: Deja Vu, Only the Good Die Young, The Loneliness of a Long Distance Runner, Aces High, The Evil That Men Do, Somewhere in Time, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Infinite Dreams, Powerslave
My favorite from them is "Run To The Hills." Definitely give that one a reaction too. Thanks!
Such greatness!!!
Should see them live
Iron Maiden 💪💥❤️🔥
Clive Burr was the original drummer. You're right to pick out his playing on this track, he was a great 'feel' drummer. Personally, I always felt that Maiden lost something after they replaced him. Nicko is a really good drummer, but Clive had a unique groove that Nicko never matched IMO.
You need to show the live version its the best. Most metal and rock bands are best live. Please show them PLEASE 🙏❤ MUCH LOVE TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 💕BRANDI MODRAK 💕
Fear of the Dark, Aces High, The Trooper, The Number of the Beast... can't go wrong with any of those, but there are so many more.
Need to watch the live video.
I really like your reactions, but it never ceases to amaze me when people don't catch the amazing note. Over 5 bars, 15 whole seconds for the "Low" in "the sands of time for me are running low." It's an extremely difficult thing to do, holding one note solidly, at volume for that length of time. Asia kind of gets it, but the reaction is subdued.
Please react to Powerslave
These reactions to 'Hallowed' never get old. I spoke to guy in work. We went to see Clutch. Awesome band. He said he's never been a Maiden fan but he likes 2 Minutes to Midnight. 'You're a Maiden fan, you just don't know it' ,😂
I've heard 'Hallowed' thousands of times but it always stands the hairs on the back of my kneck
Asia and bj.... you f**ked up. This is the 1 song you want to react to the live concert version with Bruce Dickenson singing. It will blow your mind. Trust me......
Just..........thx a lots about this Iron Maiden 's song !!!
Feeling reaction both...same as usual
Keep safe, we salute you from France.
I was in high school when I first heard Iron Maiden. I had just picked up and started learning to play the guitar 🎸 I was going on 16 and trying to learn all the great rock that was coming out at the time(Boston,Journey,Kansas,Styx,Van Halen of course)🤣 I wasn’t really into the real hard stuff but then I hear this song called “Flight of Icarus”by Iron Maiden” and it gave me goosebumps 😳and my whole outlook on rock changed in that moment🤔and to this day when I wanna go hard, they’re my go to band! Not long after that experience, I go to pick up a copy of the Guinness Book of World 🌎 Records which was a “thing”for me back then and I started thumbing through it and I saw that Iron Maiden had taken the crown from The Who as the LOUDEST BAND IN THE WORLD 🌍😆 A title which they held for quite a while🤟Y’all have got to hear Rime of the Ancient Mariner! It’s their “crowning achievement”It’s a long one, but trust me when I say it is well worth the sit down 😁 14:39
Man wish I could see this LIVE again …. miss you IM , hopefully see you back in NZ real soon bloody COVID mucked up 2020 tour …. UP THE IRONS 4 Eva …. Asia & BJ please if they come to USA I urge you it’s a must to get you tickets it be awesome experience for you both……just same as a PINK FLOYD concert
UP THE IRONS!!!
Hmmmmm, yeah maybe 1982 after all, I’m 63 years old now and this is still as new as when the band released it 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👏👏👏👏👏❤🦘🦘🦘😉😉😉
All I can say is PLEASE SEE THIS and react to REVALATIONS, off Piece of Mind, similar feel, and very powerful!!
2:56 to 3:20 approx: Asia and Bj headbanging to the same beat side by side. Bj concentrating on listening to the guitar, and beautiful Asia totally immersed in the rhythm. Great moment 🤣🤣
Top shelf Band of 80’s metal
And c’MON MAN!!!!
What better name for a rock band than IRON MADEN?
Are you F#*%’n KIDDING ME?
Cradle of Filth does a cover of this song, its a little different song considering its Cradle of Filth doing it lol. Maiden always has been an epic band with performances that never disappoint and considering these guys are still going strong after all these years....they love what they do. 🤘😎🤘
Actually they did great cover, on they own style. I really like it.
@@lkesha82 didn't say it wasn't, just letting them know it's different due to being Cradle of Filth. I like their cover of Ozzies Mr Crowley as well
@@r.deanmcknight136
No offense, i also mentioned that they did it on their own style )
@@r.deanmcknight136
Didn't know about the Mr Crowley cover, gonna check it.
I'm not big Craddle fan, but sometimes at right mood... ))
