I've been watching for some time now and am amazed at your talent and perseverance. I was in the yacht repair business for 30 years and know exactly what you are encountering in the planning and execution. I was thinking that if I had found your site sooner I would have volunteered to come and work . No charge, just a bed and food. 86 now, but still am very active. In leaving, had a thought, are you going to be able to just relax and enjoy the boat. Or constantly fiddle with minor details. Give your wife a hug she is a rare woman . Bye Bob W.
Love Janet's laugh. Lol
hi the cat is looking very good well dun👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😄
Thanks Greg, champion. Ross
You gave Janet a good chuckle... That's always a plus..
the word 'perfectionist' comes to mind!! Ttfn
Great work again big fella. Enjoyed my coffee watching this episode ❤️💪💪
Good stuff Bewsey. Good to hear you could relax a bit.Haha.
Looks amazing Roscoe. Cheers as always, ed

Go Rossco,Go. The big push is on to have her floating for a NYE 🎉🎉🍺🍺🍷🍷🍕🍕. Looking great guys🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🇦🇺
Ross, I don't know if you know this, but I think Janet's a keeper!
Came together nicely ❤ hopefully this summer has been good for you you guys 🎉
Thanks Scott.
Phew! It's been a while since I've had really time to check your progress. Sometimes it feels that you've been working with this forever. At the same time it looks quite ready from many aspects! Keep it up!
You are correct, it feels like forever and your project is certainly coming along, I love watching your frames being built. The start of something amazing I reckon, keep at it, it is a long haul. Rossco
Hey Ross, there's a shovel there. That is a classic observation that I bet everyone one of us has made at some point. The tool that we need is nearby and we discover it halfway through the project we were working on. Funny.
Did you properly fair the sides of the holes that were dug?
Love hear you talking about finishing surfaces Ross. Brilliant progress, and amazing energy.
Thanks so much John, great to hear from you. Rossco
Really coming along !
Ross,
I think you'll do best with just an open hole in the bottom of your nacell.
Any check valve will cause a vacuum when the temperature drops which will suck in water. Either seal it completely or leave it open enough to drain. Heck install a round exhaust vent for screening.
I agree, they are totally sealed for now but I will likely put a bung plug in at its lowest point that can be drained and relieve pressure in extreme heat.Cheers.Rossci
Nice work u2.!!!👍
Thanks mate
Welcome back guys
I’m always just amazed at your progress.
Good onya Kevin.
I love seeing rough surfaces painted. Really shows progress. I can't wait to see things installed
Like watching paint dry at time mate, things are now being tidied up big time. Cheers and thanks for watching, Rossco
you guys rock, very nice work as always.
All the best to you.
If you are worried about mold in the nacelles, I would recommend filling each one with two part urethane foam and capping them with fiberglass. That will give you more adhesive surface. Just a thought.
Yup that's what I'd do, it would also increase buoyancy in the bow, so if she does dig in she'd come straight back up...
I know a bunch of Lagoon people who would want some fibreglass scuppers👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 the nacelles make a huge difference. They also start lifting the bow before the big body slam.
Drill that tip out to a 1.8 u have a 1.4 in there will make ur life alot easier to spray the gelcoat i build solace boats for a living love the channel please try it thanks
Great video keep them coming like watching all of them what is your time schedule to have the boat finished
Fair play its here now
Fill your boots mate.
Ross, Could you perhaps "level" the irregularities like drywall installers do with taping mud or patching compound by using a flexible, wide putty knife or spatula tool ? I'm thinking pre-spray the wide edge of knife so it starts wet and draw over surface with just enough pressure to give you a level surface ? It will still need sanding, but a LOT less than before... The deflectors should stiffen that huge flat section of deck so it doesn't drum or magnify wave noise and spray hitting hull. Since the surface above is filled with chain lockers etc, maybe line bottoms with some removable tailored pieces of foam from boogie boards or similar elastic foam ?...Cheap, lightweight insulation to protect glass surfaces and removable for cleaning It may quiet that area from noise while under way, or early/late anchoring activities...
You are both making cracking progress.😀👍⛵️
Thanks for tuning in Norman.
Looking great
Hi Ross, could you fill the nacelles with expending foam, then there would never be any problem with water and they would be so much stronger, great vlogs really enjoy the progress every week regards john
Looking good every video, great progress. Are you on plan to Janet’s schedule?.
Thanks I enjoyed that.
Good stuff
When you make a serial number to register the ship, you should try to incorporate Rosco in it somewhere. The rosco man sond is always playing in the background.
Edit: the ship class is the Rosco 50.
Would that be sung to the Village People Macho Man?
@@icelandviking1961 haha, yes. There has b33n a few times where that has been sung in the background
Overhead sanding… You will have huge guns after…😎
Digging a hole with a hammer! Come on Ross your better than that…🤣😂. When everything looks like a nail…..😜
Whatever is close at hand when I am frustrated gets picked up and used. There is a manic button in my method some days and I like to get on with it, whatever the consequences.Ypu are right mate, should have opened my eyes and mind a bit.
Are you going to paint some kind of decorations on the hull ?
Everybody knows a line or two make anything go faster… Ask John, he's into cars, he'll tell you ! ^^
You don’t want drips in the flocoat in your Necelles, heaven forbid!🤣😂😅
Has to be perfect Brian, no compromise mate, Janet understands this ocd of mine.
I hope you realise that Janet is a rare - if not unique - treasure! Great progress, both of you. I'm seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. Very much looking forward to splash day!
FYI .
Its not up yet??
Why can’t you use the nacelles as extra fual tanks or even to store drinking water?
They would create a problem weight issue on the bow which would increase the pitching and hobby horsing, so in this case they will remain hollow. On many other cats they are positioned under the saloon and cabins so assist in weighing the boat down in the midships.
being around boats for a while, I can tell you there is no such thing as "can never get water in" the wavebreakers need a drain of some sort, even if its a garboard drain plug...
If never get water in worked, no glass boat would ever need the stringers, or transom replaced.
Ross, you and janet have built a very nice boat, good investment, i would think around 5-6 hundred thousand, very good job
**************** has it been a year already? Being on the older side, time seems to pass really fast.
Give Ross a spade and a shovel, and let him take his pick?
Whatever is laying around gets used Tim.
:) A Ford paint job = Orange Peel lol Ross just saying lol :)
My car has more orange peel than that spray-job… 😵💫
Its Russ Science Janet lol.
I never understood the English/Ausie pronunciation of H as "hay-ch". You don't say "Ses" for S or "Fef" for F :P
For those who don't know "why nacelles on a catamaran?"
Well how else are you going to get about in your space ship in a quick manner
Any serious Trekkie knows Zefram Cochrane's middle name was Rosco...
Love it mate.I get that a lot.
I just can't wrap my head around taking on a multiyear project like this, both in terms of time investment and financial. If you place any value on your time, there is no way that this can be a winning proposition. I would rather take the money being put into the build and buy a boat that might need some refurbishing, but not 5+ years! To each his own, I guess. And every time I hear the term "fair it in" I just cringe. Sounds so simple, but it's hours of work each time.
I'm going to guess it's akin to catching the biggest brown trout of your life on a fly you tied yourself. Personal satisfaction.
Aw yes.>>>>>>>>>>>> That back side looks terrible. You will have to start over completely*****************Lol lol! You put as much effort into small details like this as one would put into a critical component....
