The timed the songs beat to Barry's heartbeat. 100 beats per minute because CPR requires 100 chest compressions per minute and this song can be a reference for someone doing CPR. They use it in CPR classes. Genius and very noble.

Their 1960s material is quite different from their 70s Disco material. 'I gotta get a message to you', 'Spicks and the Specks', 'I started a joke", 'New York Mining Disaster 1941' are quite different in tone. Of course, Barry Gibb - the eldest of the brothers - said ' Stayin Alive' was an R&B song. Which if you pay attention to the lyrics - and you did, which is unusual - it IS an R&B song.

Thanks for your reaction! The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin'. From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ruclips.net/video/7niXSh7vWRI/видео.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ruclips.net/video/WH_j90fCIk4/видео.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: ruclips.net/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/видео.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you ruclips.net/video/CA4CInDnTk8/видео.html.

The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is about survival in the streets of New York inspired by the Nic Cohn paperback Tribal Rites of the Saturday Night, who was the plot for the classic Saturday Night Fever Movie. Since 1977 it is now the fifth best selling single of all time with 31 million singles sold worldwide 😱 a legendary tune.
It is claimed from in a survey of all radiostations around the globe as MOST AIRPLAYED SONG OF ALL TIME in 2017- every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world and for sure it is the most iconic song of the 70´s decade. 🍾It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history.🎖
Michael Jackson told that without the Saturday Night Fever Sountrack, he was not able to write with Quincy Jones the Thriller Album, Barry Gibb & Michael Jackson were the closest friends in Show Biz

Beegees wrote and sang over a thousand songs and never had a bad song. They also wrote for many other artists they were musical geniuses. The song is basically about life in the u0s in New York and how hard it was. A lot of people thought it was about dancing when it's actually about survival.

Here's a few of their songs that span 3 decades. The Bee Gees started singing/performing in the 1950's when Barry Gibbs (born 1946) was 8 yrs old and the Twins Robin and Maurice (born 1949) were 5 years old. Over their very long career they kept growing and reinventing themselves.

I’m pretty sure their first performance was in 1963, not the 1950s. According to the birth dates you’ve listed, they would still be toddlers in the 1950s.

@@Tyger-Lee Toddlers are 2/3-year-old. Their first public performance was in 1956, though it was not a 'professional' performance. By 1958 they were performing publicly.
--- 1956 - First public performance at The Gaumont
--- change their name to “The Rattlesnakes”
--- renamed themselves “Wee Johnny Hays and the Bluecats”

--- 1959 - Redcliffe Speedway - played their own compositions

No one reacts to their other songs from 60’s, early 70’s, 80’s. People seem to forget that they wrote, produce and compose all their own songs. They have made hits writing for others as well! Listen to Andy Gibb is my favorite Gibb Brother he was a solo artist he was an awesome entertainer in his own right, Shadow dancing it is great. love and prayers to you from Memphis Tn. Their songs are in Saturday night fever and stayin alive movies. Fyi John Travolta strutted to this song at the end of Stayin alive the movie NO ONE struts like John Travolta. All the Gibb brother's passed away except Barry he's the only one left. Andy died at around 8:30 am on 10 March 1988, Gibb's doctor informed him more tests were needed to determine the cause of his chest pains. Shortly afterward, Gibb slumped into unconsciousness and died as a result of myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle caused by years of drug abuse that fatally weakened his heart. This diagnosis was supported by William Shell, a cardiologist who previously treated Gibb.
