Have had a mark 5 that rotted and we scrapped it in the end. Then got a mark 6 that had a lot of welding done to keep it going. Have a mark 8 now 8 years old does not seem to have the same problem as previous transits with rust maybe Ford improved the rust prevention maybe galvenized areas not sure.

On some of the smaller more isolated holes, I wonder have you ever tried using a copper block from behind and just building the area back up with weld?

Leon these videos are fantastic. I've learned so much from these. I'm gonna learn myself to weld as I repair my own cars and this would come in handy at some point.anyone who comes on here trying to slate your work don't have a clue and must be jealous or somethink. Best repair how to on RUclips.love these longer types of vids as you show it in the real world warts an all.by the way how's your bully dogs going on.all the best to you and the family.

Bit of fibreglass sheeting and body filler would do for that old runabout.

Imagine if car manufacturers wax injected on the production line.

Then cars would last twice as long and they would then sell less new cars 🚗 😮

They probably poke holes into it to stop people just sanding and filling it and then a spray of paint. If it’s had holes bashed into it then it’ll be either scrapped or repaired properly if the owner wants to keep it. I know when we send diving cylinders in for test if they fail they come back cut into three sections… to stop you using them again.
