That exact frog boss is in Puss in Boots: Pero's Great Adventure, except they made it a robot. In that game, too, it's easiest to defeat with bombs. Thankfully, there's no nonsense involved in getting bombs there, you just automatically have them. Weird that the Puss in Boots game the US got is more similar to this ninja game than to Japan's Puss in Boots game. xD
Watched this recently and it made me remember the game, so I went ahead to try and beat it legit and I just did : D It was fun but the second half I just followed a let's play to find out how to cheese the bosses, since there's apparently no way to get extra lives and there's what, 20 different areas to go through ? Mind you the boomerang annihilates bosses in seconds.
yeah I think this was doomed soon as I saw the title screen. seems vaguely like Legend of Kage but not nearly as good. 5:47 hah, I just came to this one from that episode.
