- Instagram used to be good. It's now is a broken, unpleasant, scam-riddled app. the only way Instagram has gotten better is in making more money for Meta.
Instagram screwed me over and I made this 28-minute video essay because I’m salty.

Also the way I’ve noticed the algorithm working at least 3 years ago, I’m just now finally posting again but 3 years ago the way it worked was they compared your new post to the one before it. So if your new post got more engagement then the one before it then they would push it more then the one before it. It was as simple as that. And I would climb my views up everytime by making crazier and crazier stunt videos and always one upping myself. Although that wasn’t great for my mental health always trying to one up myself, which is why I took a 3 year break.
Honestly Instagram just sucks. Im a artist and got bullied for months and almost doxxed for being "bad at art, " Instagram did nothing saying it doesn't break their rules or straight up ignore my reports. Also I reported a bug that could be easily fixed mutiple times for years and it's still not fixed, my list of complains goes on and on....
This is such a well made video. like oh my gosh informed rants are something i never knew i needed. thank you for this great video, i hope the algorithm has some mercy on your channel because your content is AMAZING and underrated 🥰

every other post on my instagram feed is an ad for some "clothing brand," dozens of extremely similar brands that somehow have thousands of followers despite all their product being resold from Shein and AliExpress 🤦♂️. god forbid i left ONE comment telling one of these clothing drop-shippers to get a real job cuz now my entire feed is infested with them 🤦♂️
i also hate the fact that any account i make will be suggested to people i know IRL so i havent even bothered with making an art account like i wanted to 💔
I dont use any social media other than youtube. I really like how you approached the presentation. Dividing into three different categories. Explaining each one with a specific example. I feel more like reading a journal or research paper rather than watching a video just to stun by brain with contrast colors and rapidly moving images. Finally great use of background sound such a soothing feel.

yeah instagram is horrible. i personally got banned for 6 months ( tried to log back in and it says i have to make a new account) because i said that genocide isnt good and that it should be punished. its just engagement farming and rage baiting on instagram these days. tried to contact them but no response. its broken to the core (btw your voice sounds a bit soft so a piece of advice is to turn up your own voice and lower the volume of the effects ur using.) great video by the way keep it up!.

Instagram's moderation and the way it treats artists is so garbage. I have seen beginner artists constantly get harassed by no-life losers because they feel the need to tell the artist that their art is "bad" instead of scrolling like a normal person. And Instagram does nothing about it. Is that not going against guidelines?
I have also seen and heard from fellow artists how its so discouraging that they cant reach their audience that they had reached before. Amazing artists who could get over 10k likes on their post struggle to get even 1k since reels have become prioritized. Not everyone can put the time into making a video for their art. Most of us just want to make the art and post the picture.
The focus on reels is honestly annoying. If I wanted fast content like that I would have downloaded tiktok.
The amount of bots is also super annoying. Everytime I posted a story there would be a disgusting nsfw bot liking it, and I really do not want to see bare booty cheeks in the views of my stories like hello??? I have blocked those hundreds of times by now and they just keep coming. Instagram needs to get its stuff together istg.
this video is so well made! im surprised it doesnt even have 500 views:( i dont use ig for a long time. im not sure but from what i know it became just,,, unusable for artists. its all reels celebs and ads now
Yeah, I don’t like using Instagram anymore. I used to post a lot of photos for my small following half a decade ago; however, these past few years the app isn’t photo-friendly. Because hashtags no longer brought new people to interact with my photos, I just stopped posting.
Browsing the feed isn’t fun: over half the posts on my feed are ads, sponsored posts, and ‘suggested for you’. The other half from who I follow are mostly videos.
Sometimes I use the reel section in the hopes to find a laugh. Although, the comment sections are often rancid with racism, misogyny, and bullying; especially towards women and plus sized women. It’s just sad.
Also, quick rant. The obnoxious cuts and subtitles are an insult to my attention and intelligence.
Yep, Insta really is not very good for photography anymore and the feed is not fun at all. And I just like subtitles and cuts 😂
I deleted Instagram because of the sexist comments. Videos of women doing innocent things and men in the comments writing disgusting things and nothing gets done about it.
i thought i was the only one 😭 i tried to tell a person that their art was being uploaded to wallpaper engine but i couldn't even send it 💀 not in DM's, not in comments of any post, i gave up after 3 tries
Insta's glitches/bugs are insane! I actually read an article talking about how Instagram's back-end source-code is completely janky, and how Instagram as an app is becoming too big to fix 😅

I love instagram, it’s much easier to grow now. Plus it’s the only place I’ve been able to get a 100k I’ve never grown that big anywhere and I’ve tried every social media app. Instagram is fun but that comment thing sounds annoying though
