Why? You don't see anything. Seems like production ran out of money so they took the cheap route. I love Fargo so not judging, it happens, but to describe it as "one of the best shootouts ever filmed" is just ridiculous.
tbh this scene is mediocre at best, you literally didnt see 98% of the whole scene and what happened inside are also very unclear, it doesnt feel like a deliberate choice because the the cgi was just mehh if were talking about using it as a plot device then idk but if were talking about a shootout except for the fact that its a long take then theres nothing else special about it because literally nothing happened in that long take which defeats the purpose of having one in an action scene but i guess they just wanted it to be easier to follow because u DID NOT saw anything that happened

That's kinda the point of this scene. To show how skilled and bold he is. It also adds more to the theory of him being the devil or some supernatural entity.
I would bet money that Key and Peele just improvised their dialogue. It's a win-win situation either way (obviously not in the monetary sense if I lose the bet, but in a dramatic sense). Either you get the Cohen Brothers brilliant writing or these two brilliant comedic actors creating a terrific scene, lol!

2:18 was a mag change. There was only one other person after the cycle, and that person had an empty double action revolver. So, the cycle sound had to come after a mag change.
@@ShimrraJamaane im almost positive that that sound is just him using a doorknob. you can hear at 1:33ish him actually racking his gun, then at 1:42ish after he fires 5 shots, you hear the same sound you hear at 2:18. it would make no sense for him to reload after firing 5 shots, and the sound is distinctly different from when he actually racks the bolt at the start.
@@de4dbutdre4ming the sounds were all the same. I would say the 1:42 mark was clearing a misfure or failure to cycle. The sound at 1:33 is so distinct because it's silence preceding it. So he walks past 2 feds with the windows open and doesn't see or hear them, and pulls out the gun in front of them. I watched 4 seasons, i was thinking it was going to be great but honestly it's not. Good cinematography, actors and copying every coehn brothers theme without any of the brilliance lets them get away with mediocracy. And it's not really a real story either
Because a lot of films and series don’t film where they take place because of money You have to close of streets, rent locations, get hotel rooms , move the cast and crew etc Where on a set or in a cheaper town is much easier
I actually didn't like this scene that much. I mean it's not that I want John Wick like action it's a drama but at least something to see instead of ugly windows. They could've made this similar to that "2D" like fighting sequence in the movie Oldboy (the korean OG movie). So we can see glimpses through the window in "2D". Glimpses like in 2:59 but through the window.
There were armed people inside the building and J heard at least two 'freeze' being shouted, now why would one expect a gun wielding lunatic to just drop the weapon and give up, they could have taken position and took him out or injure him badly atleast, movies man they just don't make any sense
This scene really killed the series for me. It was too much over the top. Malvo kills dozens of people, all armed and skilled, during the afternoon, walking through the front door. In the original movie, a few killings in the province were a big deal, in the series there is one mass shooting after another. It's just too much in my opinion. The original movie maybe was bizarre at times but it ultimately had a realistic and grounded vibe to it. The series overall has some great actors and ideas but I wish that they didn't call it Fargo and even connected it with the movie.
I felt the same. I haven't watched the movie but him casually taking a whole armed building was too much, at least they could've showed some choreography to see how he rlly is psycho John Wick
