They've created such a rich and philosophically deep modern mythology around the extra ordinary lives of ordinary people. This show is far too underrated.
I absolutely loved Kirsten Dunst in Season 2 as Peggy Blomquist. Great acting, I don't know why she wasn't recognized for it. All actors did amazing jobs in Season 2 but she was lost in her role.
Dude that was intention with which the character's created. Its supposed to irritate you. If you were genuinely irritated it means she did an amazing job.
I fucking hated her in it. Sure that was the intention but if that was the intention then why would I suddenly like her in it? They wanted me to hate the character, and so I do.
So odd that Lou ends up running a diner and suggests his daughter become a hostess while all those years back he saw aftermath of the prologue of the Sioux Falls massacre in a waffle hut.
True 😄 But because of the massacre at the end I think he wants that to minimize the risks, after seeing the Ufo I think he thinks whatever can happen no matter where you are so he propably knows it wouldn't matter if he would open a gas station or diner or even a motel where the massacre happens.. shit happens no matter where you are just minimize it. Wrench, Number and even Malvo visits his diner and I think he also thinks he can handle those kinda situations (and he can by the way he talked to Malvo for example, knowing what he is right away) that happened in the waffle house better than for example the cook with a war cry that got him killed by Rye. I see the irony still and know that that's only what you are pointing out.
Kind of feel like this show is underrated. Yeah it as a strong following but it's not celebrated the way Breaking Bad, Walking Dead or Game of Thrones is. Which is sad because I think it's better than they are
games of thrones has superior writing/directing acting is pretty top notch in both shows don't get me wrong i absolutely love fargo own both seasons on bluray but I'm sorry nothing can compete with GOT
Are you trolling? Game of thrones is a soap oprea at this point. The quality of writing is comparable to tumbler fan fic and the directing is embarrassingly rushed.
it has tapered in recent seasons sure, but guess what its 6 seasons not 3 we'll see how good fargo is in 3 more seasons. Season 3 was certainly not as entertaining as the previous two
IDK how? The last ten minutes or so of season 2 made obvious connections to season one. The biggest being the DEAF man. He was visited by Lorne in the hospital, handcuffed to the bed of course, while Lorne said he was the closest to catching him. Also, how many truly deaf people using ASL to talk along with strong manual gestures to communicate emotions are in shows/movies?
This was one of the best shows ever! I bought the whole series. Priceless! You just keep watching cause you can't believe this stuff. Funny, all kinds of twists! Yeah, it was underrated for sure!
Season 2 has so much going on it could have been broken into 3 seasons. Loved Lorne Malvo for his almost comedic world burn watch. ...but season 2 had some of the best acting I’ve seen in a long time. Every character, major or minor had real presence in those episodes.
love this series but the twist with Hanzee becoming Moses Tripoli doesn't do any justice to the character ... it's hard to imagine him wearing a lobster bib.
I agree. Moses looked absolutely nothing like Hanzee (even allowing for cosmetic surgery), was much taller, spoke completely differently, and seemed to have a totally different personality.
oh my god, being an anthology series i thought the two seasons didn't actually take place in the same 'universe' you could say. I thought they were just two different cases in different worlds in the same town. This video made me realize ITS ACTUALLY LINEAR!??!?!?! this show is so touching i love it, its so sweet oh god
Do you think it was intentional that in season one he says "people are less inclined to shoot a hostess than an officer" and in early season 2 the hostess is shot in the waffle house scene
Propably, Lou has seen more cops getting shot at than the (most likely) only one hostess. And that case is the biggest one for him and clearly still is all over his head in older days mentioning the last shootout multiple times.
This is great. Thanks! I thought I'd made all the connections, but boy, was I wrong. A perfect excuse to watch them again (not that I need an excuse - in the last 10 years or more it's been the only TV drama I can watch over and over again). The acclaim for Breaking Bad was a mystery to me. Fargo is by contrast a bona fide masterpiece.
there is another obvious parallel that resolves between season 1 and 2. Molly lost her mother and grew up with just a dad, she then adopts into a family in season 1 where the little girl has a father for a police officer and the mother died while the girl was young. She makes her own story whole for the next generation.
season 3? I was disappointed by season three. Characters seemed more shallow than 1 or 2. Story was bland. Wasn't terrible, I finished it but for how much of a fan I am of Ewan McGregor it kinda bummed me out.
Season one-10/10. I kept my mouth shut till I watched it since Fargo is a treasure by the Coen boys, and I've lived with remakes of remakes and spinoffs my entire life. Season one really had me and I was pissed when it was over. B.B.T.'s acting reminded me of Heisenberg in later seasons of "Breaking Bad". Season one's writing had the same feel. ominous for shadowing and set-ups from the past like "Breaking Bad". The first scene shown was a great example of this and a great example of the connections between the two.
i love this fucking show.. i love that this video is made so i can see things i may have missed.. i love the writing the acting the photography its a fuggin masterpiece. Billy Bob re- made himself within his role. With him doing Carl Childers, Darrel the mechanic in U Turn. This is the best Like The Sopranos, Six Feet Under .. You gotta ad this as a whole new way of story telling.
I watched the first two seasons pretty far apart. Something about season 2 didn't click for me the first time and I gave up after episode one. I believe part of me felt cheated that I was just going back in time to see something off handedly mentioned in the first season instead of moving ahead to a future story. But after time passed I watched the full second season in two days because I was enjoying it so much. And I think part of that is because I completely forgot season 1. But now I need to watch videos like this because I forgot so many details. I didn't even remember Lou was the father/grandfather/diner owner. I'm sure the first time I watched I realized that, but this time around I watched it with very minor memory of season 1. I liked it a lot so it works great as a stand alone. Actually now when I'm reminded of the connections I feel like they really don't matter and almost don't work because the actors seem so vastly different that I almost prefer not to think of them as the same people. Lou somehow grew like a foot haha and his face looks drastically different. And the Hanzee thing seems like a last minute idea the vibe of that character between both seasons just doesn't gel for me. I'll just pretend they're totally separate stories.
***** Maybe. But other shows can pull it off; with The Leftovers, with Lindelof producing and profound subject matter, you'd assume it'd just be more LOST-style wankery, and yet it's just solid story.
fargo last episode palindrome means word reads same forward and backwards, mobster who gave fake passport to hanzee probably real dakota tribe indian qoutes kill or be killed and that same mobster builds empire who falls and deaf kid and his friend becomes hitmans for mobster educated by hanzee. Repeating other people sentences is primary job of Dude in big lebowski
Didn't catch on that little Molly from Season 2 turned out to be Sheriff Molly from Season 1. So I take it her dad is still (supposed to be) the same guy both seasons as well? They could have gotten someone looking a little more like the (younger) dad actor from Season 2 to play in Season 1 then. Anyhow, good video, sir!
There's no more proof but the fact he says he needs surgery on his face to conceal his identity, says exactly the same line to close off a meeting with members of the SAME gang...and he's the ringleader of said gang in S1. What more do you need to know.
Hmmm, this is interesting. I've never watched all episodes but enough to know that the seasons were interconnected, I just didn't know how. Thanks for the upload. Good job. Kind of disappointed with season 3's ending but even more so because they cancelled "Fargo" altogether :'( It was a good show, I thought. Just not enough to be renewed for season 4..
They've created such a rich and philosophically deep modern mythology around the extra ordinary lives of ordinary people. This show is far too underrated.
It's on the top with The Wire, True Detective, Narcos, Mindhunter and Better Call Saul in my book. (but I didn't like Breaking Bad)

The quality of an actor's performance doesn't rely on the likability of their character.
If you felt how the actor intended for you to feel, then they succeeded.
That drum track is so bloody catchy!
Reminds me of Birdman
It's Mr Wrench and Mr Numbers theme.

Fargo is modern masterpiece. I have no idea how many times I've watched both movie and series.
Kind of feel like this show is underrated. Yeah it as a strong following but it's not celebrated the way Breaking Bad, Walking Dead or Game of Thrones is. Which is sad because I think it's better than they are
I agree, it's certainly up there with Breaking Bad.
If you're talking about, writing, directing and acting then objectivly Fargo season 1 and 2 is superior to those shows.
games of thrones has superior writing/directing acting is pretty top notch in both shows don't get me wrong i absolutely love fargo own both seasons on bluray but I'm sorry nothing can compete with GOT

" you're a shit cop you know that right" lmao
Could've also shown the S2E1 restaurant shooting when they mentioned shooting a hostess
Yes, that's right.

Fargo (Serie) is a masterpiece, coen brothers would be proud!!

why fargo is soo underrated jeeeeez

Older Lou sounds alot like David Carradine
The actor playing him is Keith Carradine, David Carradine's half brother.
Bryce Beckstead that makes so much sense. Dude has mad Carradine vibes.
Lou & Greta on the porch, him with a shotgun and her with a BB gun, warmed my heart. I'm still waiting for those two to get a spin-off.
Haven’t watched the series in years trying to find a good recap video but can’t find anything :(
and the deaf is also in season 3 and i am confused about the timeline
Season 1 is 2006, season 3 in 2010. The deaf guy was set free by Lorne.
But wasn't Lou supposed to be shot in the hip during the Sioux Falls shootout?? That's where he says his limp comes from in season 1
I wonder too, maybe somebody can help!
