It’s great watching this again knowing that Lorne basically gets off on finding people he knows he can seduce into becoming evil and listening to their panicked phone calls. He knew this call was coming, and he was looking forward to it. He only came over because he wanted to see his work.
i think its mostly the trying to get them to ruin their lives than just becoming evil, i think lester is probs the only person who actually came out of it alright
Lorne is a corrupter, he wanted to corrupt them and cause them to destroy themselves, that’s why he records them especially if they commit suicide so he can replay those moments the issue is that his work with Lester backfires and he turns a sheep into a wolf like him Lester gets the final call on Lorne in the end, even if he too is caught eventually in the hunter’s net.

The freakiest part about this whole scene is how Malvo gets into the house without a sound, and knew exactly where to find the gun. It implies he entered the house before Lester hid the gun (because he knew where to find it) and also that knew in advance that the cop was coming. The next half of the scene is how Malvo vanishes as mysteriously as he appeared.
Maybe, but we also know Malvo is really quick-witted. Even when he gets caught by the bear trap, in a split second he thought of grabbing the sales award and throwing it at Lester's nose. Might be that he came in as the scene was developing, saw the gun on the wall and grabbed it, because he's the kinda guy who could kill an armed man in 101 ways.
@@stellarwind1946 Yes this, Lorne enters the house through the back, not the front, suggesting that he was being very cautious incase of walking into a potential ambush or dangerous situation which is a sign of his years of experience
Tony Soprano & Christopher, Walter white & Jesse Pinkman, Rust Cohle & Marty and Lester & Malvo.... Probably the best yin-yang male pairings in TV history.
This scene establishes so much about the characters. Lester, although cowardly and floppy, improvises (at a time where he is under a lot of nervous pressure) a sound plan to put the blame on Lorne. If you could get out of the previous scene (his wife's murder) with the impression that his could have been a one-off huge mistake, now there is no place for doubt that he is malevolent to the core, deceitful, manipulative. How quickly his mind works to put the blame on somebody else, on how to lie to get them to comply and enter his game... a monster in disguise. As to Lorne... entering without a sound... coldbloodedly murdering the cop... He is an expert killer, he has no qualms... but also, the genius setup of the scene allows you to enter his mind: why did he shoot? zhy did he appear? he could have just walked away. None of this mess was his. He had nothing to gain from this. He stayed, he showed himself, and he killed, for pleasure. He is the ultimate danger, and now the ghost of his presence alone is terrifying for the next 10 episodes.
What also sells Lester's capacity for manipulation, is when he rams himself into the basement wall in order to cover his tracks and make it look like he was knocked out by someone.

Wade, its Jerry. Idk what to do, it's Jean. Idk what to do, it's Jean. Oh God, it's terrible...
I just finished up this season. Martin was ah-mazing. Good guy gone bad. 😈 😍
Never good, only passive. The dangers of lack of masculinity is a recurring theme I've noticed and this man fits that description to a tee.
Martin Freeman is so god damn brilliant
You know …
I watched Sherlock then I watched it because i wanted to see freeman’s acting.
I watched it with Japanese dub but even that I could felt how good is he’s acting.it’s absolutely fantastic.
(I’m Japanese so maybe my English is little bit strange)
It's not strange, it's really good for a Japanese. You kinda made me want to watch Fargo in Japanese. I've watched this show so many times, but now I wish to see the Japanese version. Maybe cause I am a huge fan of both anime and normal TV series.
Lorne's his best friend and he doesn't even realize it
Amazing show
Aces hadnt arrived yet
He's just like Linfegaart in the original movie.
3:22 the part was when was like shiittttt🤦🏾♂️ he's caught.
1:32 Lester's quick attempt to lift the shotgun with one hand is so funny to me
Who else cried when he got shot?😭
The moment when he saw the cop was so perfectly cutted to the black screen, that at first I assumed the episode will end right here 2:10
Lester have you been a bad boy
1:25-1:40 Imagine a neighbor taking out the trash.
Neighbor: "Oh hey Lester, whatcha doin'?"
Lester: "Uh.....target shooting?"
Neighbor: "Okay then".
Hehehe, that'd be a little amusing :-)
Lester looked like he's waiting for someone to leave the toilet 😂
Yes great acting. I’ve always wondered how an English guy got to play this American part.
good work. Thanks. :D
1:23 The one thing I don't get is what is he even rehearsing for?
He was resourcing to kill Melvo
Lester's character seems to be patterned after the character of Jerry Lundegaard the car salesman in the original Fargo movie.
Reminds me of Jerry lundegaard
Why cant there be anything on like this anymore to bad i think this and breaking bad was the last of the good shows i was so into this show i was exited to see it every week
season 4 is coming next year
@j mula I disagree
Fargo (the best obviously)
Breaking bad
Better Call Saul (BB with a less less action)
Mad Men
True detective season 1 is in my top 5. So is shameless but thats a different type of vibe
@@beet1508 Have you tried Dexter?
he went from the office to this
When did Malvo give his contact info (room 23 of that motel) to Lester?
Likely after they met at the diner. Lorne expresses his philosophy about humans being nothing more than apes with rules. It cuts to later in the day, Lester at home working on the washing machine when Pearl arrives. We can assume Lorne gave him his info after that conversation.
@@MrFrankthefun oh that makes sense I was wondering that too
How the hell did he escape from the basement I wonder?
I've yet to see this show, but was Lester getting ready to kill Lorne then frame him to the cops or..?
Sure Lester I'll be right there.
I wonder if Malvo knew Lester would try to frame him?
I don’t think he cared. I think he was just excited to see the chaos
Either Malvo had to take a wiss first or brought his own shot gun? I don't ya know?
why didn't he frame malvo for everything , just tell the cops that he was frustrated at the hospital and said that he wished he killed the bully , malvo beeing the psycho that he is took it seriously and killed the guy , lester not knowing what to do went to confront him at the coffee shop and told him that he was going to call the cops , malvo then told him that he was going to kill him if he says anything, and he went back home to find him there malvo killed the wife knocked lester and when he was going to finish him off , the cop arrived and he got killed by malvo, blaaammme malvooooo , so that he can take the fall for everything , i mean he was preparing to do it anyway
Did you miss the part where Malvo was able to fool the police when he was apprehended? If Lester mentions Malvo, he is dead.
Lesson 1: Never befriend a cop. Lesson 2: Never, ever let a cop in your house without a warrant, without exception
S1 was incredible. S2 and 3 didn’t have shit on what this one did.
I have really no interest in comparing them. Each season stands alone for me and has a somewhat different vibe and theme. I enjoyed all of them very much
@@TylerDurden-td2yg
Same
Lester is fucking with the wrong bad guy.
The devil went down to Fargo, he was looking for souls to steal. (and some pie and coffee)
1:36 bro is so goofy 💀I love it!
Have you been a bad boy Lester?
what wouldve lorne used if lester hadnt bought that shotgun
I think he has his own gun
0:36
For some reason this reminds me of needful things after Buster murders his wife
That’s why I can’t move to Fargo S2 S3...
But you must, they’re all so good!!!
I needed some months before watching S2, now I did and it was good, just not as good as S1, but close. I still have to watch S3 and 4 tho
I've never heard of a man that could walk despite having no spine or backbone . A 1000% whimp fr. You can bet your butt somebody like that would be bullied from kindergarten all the way through college and up until death.
How did the blood stains reach the top of the staircase (where the police office sees them)?
4:03 Where is the wound on Lester's hand?
Kyle Campbell it would of took a while to make a wound, I expect. It doesn’t come straight away it takes a while to infect his hand
The wound comes from when Lorne shoots the sheriff. That hasn't happened yet.
@@d.johnson2772 ???????????
u see when Malvo shoots the sheriff from behind the shotgun shells released the pellets in the shotgun bullet so as the bullet/pellets made their way to the sheriff one went to Lester's hand and that's how he got the wound
Oh cawd
