“Because some roads you shouldn’t go down. Because maps used to say, “There be dragons here.“ Now they don’t. But that don’t mean the dragons aren’t there.” ―Lorne Malvo
I have seen the trailer. It seems to sport similar elements - not trivial storyline, twists of ethics and misadventure, gotchas and unpredictability. Win.
Geoffrey Bronson a much better representation would be Malvo as a bear, Milligan as a lion, and Varga as COVID-19 lol. Lone wolves aren’t really a thing and in the rare case that they are they’re not what malvo was.
@@daraotl5187 same here. Watched S2 before S1 years ago. Thought S2 was much better. Just finished rewatching both last night with my Fiance. Season 1 is better IMO.
You left out the best Lorne Malvo quote where he leaves the phone message about the cold hungry boy and the wolves, I can’t find it anywhere. I found it “ Once upon a time there was a little boy, he was born in a field and raised in the woods, and he had nothing. In the winter the boy would freeze and in the summer he’d boil.He knew the name of every stinging insect. At night he would look at the lights in the houses and he would want. Why was he outside and they in, why was he so hungry and they fed. It should be me he thought, and out of the darkness the wolves came whispering.
Honestly, Hawley and co took the Minnesota Nice cadence from the Coens movie and elevated it to poetry: "We're realised", "What she say?", "She said they realised somethin'". "Enemies are at the gates... Inside the gates... Fornicating with our cookware!" "You think there's a special circle of hell for people who kill their loved ones on Christmas Eve?" "I'd call it animal, except animals only kill for food. This was..." "Son, I could fill a dumpster truck with the amount of stupid I think you are". "There's no table. There's just me. Everyone else sits on the floor". "You ever guessed a pigs' weight or eat a deep fried snickers bar? There's no better way to spend a Saturday in this, our great American experiment. So, while you're eating mashed potatoes from a box in a dark room, think of me among the amber waves of grain".
Its soo bad for me as we just left the "There be dragons here" (S1) also the different interpretations of Albert Camus on S2. On the S3 I just loved everything from Mr. Varga, but I think when he is finaly captured (or not) is also worth a mention. "I will enjoy my time with my son."
I've noticed that seasons 2 and 4 are much more colorful and stylistic than 1 and 3. I don't know if it has to do with the idea that the past looks so much more full of life and joyous than it actually is compared to the present, because 2 and 4 are set in the past and 1 and 3 are set in the present or relative past
"Let me tell you whats gonna happen, Officer Grimly. I m gonna roll my window up. And I'm gonna drive away and you're gonna go home to your daughter and in a few years you're gonna look at her face and know that you're alive because you chose not to go down a certain road on a certain night that you chose to walk into the light instead of into the darkness. Do you understand me? I'm rolling up my window." - Lorne Malvo.
There are so many good quotes from so many characters but the only ones pulled are (primarily) villains? What about the beautiful scene with Molly and Lester as she explains her glove story? What about Lou’swarning to Ed and Peggy about how they were already dead and just didn’t realize it? A lot of those villians speeches are proven to be bull by the end of the series anyways
Can't wait for season 4! I loved all three seasons, especially season 1 with Billy Bob Thorton as Malvo. The only thing about season three was Varga. A good villian for sure, but his disgusting teeth made my stomach turn!
That's why it work on TV shows only and not in real live: it is certain that the addressed person never knows, never heard of the book of Job (or Hiob as he is call in my native language) or why the human can see the most shade of the color green, while in real live you had to write an essay about this damn guy and never forgot about it...So after the first line I - and most people - had cut her talk off PS: The devil (actually Satan, one of his sons) wasn't allowed to go after Job's life...this guy had a gun and was free to choose. So her reasoning wasn't that clever after all...and it didn't end that well for her. What was her last word: crap? In Faust the devil also makes a bet with the Lord, but it is not about to threaten him into submission or revoke his faith in god, but to lure him off the righteous path - knowingly. ruclips.net/video/Mcowjpu8qI0/видео.html I think that is rather a weak example for the show. The cast was certain a good choice for a tough female judge, but they could have given her better lines with a better logic. It also took too long to explain the story of Job. Most guys like Rey Gerhardt had cut her off for the time the talk took. It would have been a combination of irritation and impatience.
I loved the movie and I love the series. There was only one thing I found hard to watch, Varga's disgusting teeth! They grossed me out so much that I often felt like barfing if I looked too closely at them.
Toprendz Toprendz yeah a fair few, the scene with him and Lou in the diner, the scene where he scares those kids at Lester’s old house, the scene where he intimated the hotel clerk about his pet goldfish, the scene where he gets arrested by gus (that’s just utterly hilarious). The show is great but the endings are sooo crap
The directing the cinematography the way the camera tells the story with the camera movements and production. Absolutely a phenomenal series.

Varga singlehandedly revitalized my brushing habits.

Some roads you don't want to go down.
