Great and informative video as always @Ashley.
it's definitely an interesting idea that may have some niche potential... though I have my doubts it'll really take off in the mass market. There are quite a few issues that will kill this:
The main problem is that frame selection is extremely subjective and taking to account varying tastes & style preferences (not to mention fashion-forward folks wouldn't want only 1 frame). Unless these and similar companies have hundreds of models on offer it'll be hard to get market penetration.
Perceived sound quality is another concern with varying music genres being a major factor.
The final nail in this concept's coffin is the price point. As you mentioned, a good pair of earbuds cost nowhere near $150 to $250. Considering they are significantly cheaper, tiny, light, hardly noticable, & will have better sound quality. It's definitely a hard pass for me.

@Official P.M.Dawn/Doc.G Channel The big problem is the lack of bass but that cannot really be solved because you need closed chambers for bass or big speakers. If you put them on while wearing a motorcycle helmet the bass gets really good.

Thanks for the review! I think something that didn't get touched on (and something these companies should probably go after as a target market) is the safety of being able to hear what is around you for sports. I am a road biker and a runner. I love biking with music, but I cannot hear the traffic around me when I am on the road.
Unfortunately I've had a couple close calls because of it, and I've entirely stopped listening to music when I run because I can't hear the rhythm of my breathing pattern or the traffic and people around me. I run with my dog a lot too so it's important to hear things around me so I can react before my dog does (he's a good boy, just a little barky and intimidating for people not expecting it).
I think these glasses are really just faddish for techy people, but are truly functional in multiple sport categories. Hopefully they'll realize that and change their target markets a bit.

I've worn Bose Frames with Prescription Transition lenses for two years as my all day/everyday glasses.
Daily wear glasses with my prescription, transition lenses for outdoor use, podcasts and audiobooks whenever and wherever I want, answer a call anywhere at any time without fumbling out my phone or earbuds, all in one device. The only real let-down for me with these was that the ambient sound is too loud to use in my office environment, as co-workers can hear the faint sound of whatever I'm listening to. I'm not an audiophile so the music quality in these is fine. Honestly, unless you're paying hundreds of dollars for massive all-enveloping audiophile headphones, pretty much anything you use is going to be compromised in some way.
I'm picking up my new Amazon Frames from the Optometrist today with m prescription lenses installed, can't wait for something lighter and smaller. Tried the Razor Anzu and they just aren;t ready for mainstream - too many poorly thought out features and they just don't work as well.
As for cost, have you looked at the cost of a pair of regular eye-glass frames recently? These are right in the middle of the eye-glass frame price range.
Genuinely surprised more people don't recognise the massive potential of these. 60% of the worlds adult population wear prescription glasses, so as soon as you realise you can slap proper lenses in any of these devices, the potential market is huge.
I don't think I would ever go back to regular non-smart glasses at this point. I'm always wearing glasses on my face anyway so why the heck wouldn't I want extra features crammed into them?

The Bose headphone glasses are incredible, built for giving you a sound track whilst enjoying the outdoors. Phone calls are really clear for the other line.
The synchronisation of having music playing and your ears open is a strange yet pleasant experience.
    The look great
    Sound great
    Phone calls great
Dolby atmos music is even better and watching movies in fun in this, just be somewhere quiet

I would not worry about others hearing a bit of your sound bleeding a bit. Have you recently driven around town? I can usually hear enough bass to drive me nuts 1-2 miles away, and no one says anything to "THEM"- I better watch what I say, BLM, ANTIFA would be out my front door. God forbid if I had to show a sign of protecting myself or others. "They" are the reason I pay a hefty amount of money for personal defense insurance. If you feel safe, crank it to 11.

As someone that needs prescription glasses for every waking moment, I basically never use sunglasses already, just on those rare days I use contacts and that might be 5% of days or less. I already own earbuds and headphones, and my earbuds (AirPods Pro) work just fine when I’m outside, even on my daily runs so I don’t see much use for this product category. One thing that has been life changing for me is ANC and I basically can’t live without it, and while it would be nice to have my music and media with me all the time on my frames, I would still want the noise isolation and noise canceling.
I’m interested though, in the rumored AR glasses by Apple but they need to do a lot more than just play music or call siri because AirPods already do both of those things, I love my Apple Watch and I honestly want more out of it, so I can stop carrying my phone around all the time everywhere, and if the Glasses can do that then I’d be a day one customer.

Wow. This amazes me, that you are so perfectly in the market segment for these and yet you don't see the use for them.
Slap a pair of prescription Transitions lenses in any of these and you replace your all-day glasses, your sunglasses and your earbuds with a single product. I've had a pair of Bose Frames as daily wear prescription lenses for two years and loved them. The only downside was the weight. Just in the process of upgrading to Amazon Frames and am super excited for something lighter and smaller on my face.
Daily wear glasses with my prescription, transition lenses for outdoor use, podcasts and audio books whenever and wherever I want, answer a call anywhere at any time without fumbling out my phone or earbuds, all in one device. The only real let-down for me with these was that the ambient sound is too loud to use them in my office environment, as co-workers can hear the faint sound of whatever I'm listening to. Why do so many comparison videos neglect the Soundcore Frames by Anker? I really enjoy them, and you can buy one of 10 different frame styles and just attach the speaker arms to the new frames, without having to shell out $200.00 to change the style. The sound clarity is excellent, but the volume could be better, and they have no bass. I wear them at work, where I need to be able to hear co-workers. Thanks for the review, but I really wanted to know how Razer stacked up against Soundcore.

I would consider them then, but being honest, I already have AirPods Pro and Max and need prescription glasses every waking moment since age 6 more than 20 years ago so when would I charge something like this when I need frames on my face to function as a human already? The Pro’s last hours out of the case and days with the case and the Max’s days in general, and I pretty much have ANC turned on all the time even when I’m not listening to music or media, just to help with my anxiety while working so...

    add in my prescription lens,
Lens must show clear when inside a building and dim when outdoors,
Glasses Stay on when running, hiking, or any type of high intensity training,
And connect to Galaxy or Apple watch.

    • @Starganderfish
      @Starganderfish 2 года назад

Any one of these lenses can have prescription lenses installed, and with Transition lenses, you get clear indoors and tinted outside. They all connect to Android or iPhone. The only part you need to check is comfort and fit - like any glasses how well they fit and how well they stay on depends a lot on the shape of your face.

Ohh i didnt want buds in my ears as i dont like blocking surrounding noise in both ears. @Starganderfish 2 года назад

Every single one of these can have prescription lenses put in at an optometrist. Some of the styles may look a little odd as daily wear but it can be done. I wore Bose Alto Frames for two years with prescription lenses as my all-day glasses and they were great. A little "Clark Kent" in looks but amazing in functionality, just a little too heavy.
Tried Razor Anzu and they just aren''t as good - buggy, uncomfortable and awkward.
I'm picking up my Echo Frames today from the Optometrist with prescription lenses and hopeful they'll be my new all-day glasses.
Throw some Transitions lenses in them and you get eyeglasses and sunglasses and headphones all in one. Given that 60% of the worlds adult population need prescription glasses, it's insane that more of these companies are;t targeting that market.

A great example for audio sunglasses is if you work outside a lot and need to hear your surroundings. Another use Case is so that you can listen to the football game whilst appearing like your not wearing an audio device. Especially for cyclists who need music but also need to have completely control of their surroundings, these things are perfect and worth the investment. Earbuds can block out noise as well as make it hard for your ears to breathe whilst working out.

60% of the worlds adult population wear prescription glasses, so as soon as you realise you can slap proper lenses in any of these devices, the potential market is huge

I thought this was going to about glasses that could record and display things on screen... Meh no I'm not interested, I like my bose headphones and my Oakley transition glasses thanks. Come back and see me and get me to stop yawning when you've found some glasses that can capture things I'm doing when I'm out.

FAIL Joss Whedon is not hte director of the Justice League. Joss Whedon is the a director of the inferior version of the Justice League. The correct and only accepted answer would be Zack Snyder. Better luck next time CNET.

above all else it is just rude to have your music going without buds not everyone wants to hear it

The music is directed to your ears. A person right next to you may hear it faintly. Someone feet away will not unless you are listening at full volume.
