I have these and am really happy with them so far. Have had them for a couple weeks now after getting the prescription lenses installed. It's a hefty upfront cost but I was in the need of new glasses anyway, so was willing to take the risk.
Only issue so far is battery, as stated in the video... It's not a hindrance for me to charge them daily though, because I have a backup pair of glasses and contacts. But for someone who would rely on these glasses for your only pair and can't see without them, I'd say it's definitely not worth the hassle...unless you're fine with it running out of battery life and using them as regular glasses until you go to sleep.
I honestly love my pair, they're really helpful for when you either are doing a task in which it'd be dangerous to check your phone or where your phone is not accessible at the moment, i find myself using them the most while working, from listening to music, asking calculations on the spot, checking email and messages even just keeping up to date on the news, calls are flawless and people on the other end can't even tell
Finally Amazon can automatically order groceries for you by just one look into the kitchen.
Amazon is the last company I need following me around.
compared to your social media apps stealing your data amazon is barely a problem for the consumer

I really like my Boss frames. I don't use them too often but when I do they are great. Also since they are sunglasses I can only wear them outdoors so a glasses option would be nice.

As a galaxy buds owner, I get everything these glass do, with a way smaller and cheaper device, with batter sound that cost way less!
If there is no display, there is no point to smart glass.

i use alexa a home a lot but i can't imagine my self using *any* voice assistant outdoors at all for various reasons
I got my first smart watch a few months ago now and honestly wearable tech is convenient. Like being able to workout at home as I wear my watch as my phone’s in the other room charging. Being able to make calls and answer texts then to go right back to my workout or whatever I’m doing. At the same time when I’m on my phone I don’t use my watch. So that’s more often then I use my watch.

This is a great review! Wouldn't mind these! I actually have an echo dot and the Amazon assistant on my Samsung. I make great use of them. In many Ways I like it more than Google assistant.

Not gonna lie, it weirds me out that Alexa is possiblity recovering all of your interactions, from these glasses.
That being said, the tech does seem pretty cool.

Have you tried the Kickstarter Vue glasses? They are a prescription smart lens like your Echo ones but lower profile and probably cheaper

can anyone tell me about noise bleed? Say your on a phone call how close does someone need to be to hear who is talking? I am interested in getting a pair of smart glasses but I don't really want the equivalent of having someone on speakerphone all the time.

Smart glasses is the tech I'm waiting for since Google Glass. It's not there yet, but we are getting quite close. 2nd gen Bose Frames will be interesting I think.
You didn't mention what the accelerometer was for. Does it have any useful function or is it just for developers to hopefully maybe one day do something with.
I want google to try glasses again, of course the old ones didnt work and the use case wasnt quite there, but those were even before smart watches, ive always imagined a future where my glasses could have an ar HUD for my notifications and weather and a voice assistant, it could actually convince me to actually use a voice assistant

2 years later and it’s still feel unreal to wear one of these😂. Getting my first pair of Echo Frames for $129 today (50% off thanks to Prime day). Heard the battery life and microphone quality has improved compared to this video’s Gen 1. Let’s hope I don’t have to return it 🤞🏻

Why didn't they create a software algorithm to compute eye prescription to how the display shows on the lens. That way the image is visible without so much custom fitting.
