I always buy spare bearing for pinion bearing and wallow out center one so that it slides over pinion and test pinion depth after getting shim side then put in other bearing found if you heat bearing up it will side on easily !
I use an old oven to heat bearings on carrier and ring gear to set them in place!? But Everybody needs to do what works for them!
I think You forgot to wipe off pattern paint! Also 12 bolt truck and 12 bolt car are different !

I wonder if could put the ring gear ⚙️ into the freezer over night 🌙 I've seen people do that on bearing and they slide right on. Remember work fast when doing that.
