      I'm sure that many of us will say that it is not because simply they don't understand it!
      To grasp the idea that i want to convey here, take an example. If i say to you that 1+2+3+....=-1/12 you will say immediately that i'm crazy right? BUT if you go and search a little bit things will be clear and in order..

    This movie is a slow burn focused on a man wrestling not with monsters and demons, but rather himself. This trailer makes it seem much more action packed than it is, so it threw people off. If you take the film as it is, it's very well done.

    • @eldruidacosmico
      @eldruidacosmico 2 года назад +6

      @Meownifest The israelites of the time of Jesus Christ had a fairer skin than that of today's arab, and actual semites (not khazar/ashkenaz). The trade of subsaharans as slaves began some time in rhe 6th to 7th century, and so did the gene exchange that made arabs and other semites and south europeans a little darker. So I lean towards thinking Jesus Christ has fair skin but semitic features.

      In modern translations they are not always referred to as Giants but as Ogres or such but the original text makes it pretty clear: Gawain meets dragons, wolves, wild men, bulls, bears, boars and Etaynez/Giants.

      If you haven't seen it yet, I wanted to warn you that this film isn't a retelling as much as it is a part of the centuries long conversation over arthurian legend. It takes major detours but is still absolutely amazing and even more so if you take the time to learn more about Gawain's character evolution over the centuries.

      this is not part of the legends of Arthur, it is a fake hijacked story that isn't about that. It's just using the names in order to make a different movie and sell it to people who don't know that yet.

      @@theCosmicQueen while you're entitled to your opinion, I disagree! This is thematically very faithful to the source material, and each of its narrative decisions is rooted firmly in the source text. It's a creative adaptation of the story's soul, rather than a scene-for-scene retelling of the poem, and personally, I think it's beautiful!

    Green Knight is 1 year old!
    Paving issues aside it's worth the wait
    Director David Lowery mixes fantasy and old English lore in a fantastical tale based on the poem
    Wonderfully crafted, such a surreal visual journey, beautifully filmed, and Dev Petel gives a top of the mark performance
    More of a cerebral experience than a straight up knights adventure
    A nice re-invention of the Arthurian legend of Sir Charwin's journey
    A lot of scenes make this very dreamlike or nightmarish
    Plenty of symbolism throughout
    A story of a man discovering his faults
    It's a bit long and polarizing but still an enchanting wonder
