Hi Dave my names Kalos I'm from New Zealand and I'm 12 years old, I go to a pheasant shoot every season with my grandfather and pick up and on beaters day last year I shot my first bird and then my first left and right I also bought me a tweed waistcoat but I can't afford the rest hehe. Stay safe Dave with this covid 19 and looking forward to the next film you release. Thanks Kalos.
that's great to hear Kalos keep getting out with Grandad you will learn an awful lot - and Union 310 speaks words of wisdom that we are all guilty of not heeding!!
Thank you Calder you are so right thank you for your words of wisdom. I have moved up from a 28 gauge to a 12 gauge I have treated it with respect and it has given respect strait back . Kalos
Nice to see you in action again, especially at this time. Hope you and yours are keeping well. Looking forward to your 28 bore pattern test. I really enjoy your pattern testing too.
Another fantastic video Dave, well done ! If your video editor ever gets some spare time I'd love to see a whole video made up of all the dogs working from all the clips and B roll from all your video shoots. Surely I can't be the only gundog lover who would enjoy this ?
Hello Dave, I am pleased you have released this film, absolutely brilliant. The landscape is perfect for shooting. I liked your comments about shooting and how you want it to carry on for a long time. I know the world is a strange place at the moment with the coronavirus pandemic, so its nice to see the shooting world as it was. There are some challenges ahead for us all not to mention the shooting community facing pressure from anti's and the ban on lead shot so lets hope it can carry on. Unfortunately the shoot I was on has now come to an end as the shooting lease is not going to be renewed. Anyway Dave, look after yourself, be safe.
Dave, thank you so much for this bit of brilliant light in these troubling times we are all living through at the moment. It was an absolute pleasure to watch this one. That crossing bird that presented himself to you at the 8:10 minute mark was just perfection! Not to mention a 32" sidelock best, that was something pretty special to see in action also. Take care of yourself and your loved ones, best regards as always.
Really extraordinary places in your videos Mr Carrie. I love watching them and wish I could be there! Keep doing that for all of us that we live far from the UK. Thank you!
Great film again ,nice to see the guns getting dressed birds at the end of the day which we should be doing more of. Just wish the film was an hour long , keep well.
Absolutely brilliant! Great production values, stunning scenery and fabulous shooting. A great watch at any time but certainly welcome during this period of lockdown. Keep up the good work and stay safe Dave.
Always enjoy watching these vlogs. What a beautiful place to spend a bit of time in. And what great company and experience of what the countryside is about. Takes me back to my childhood, minus the shooting then. Thank you for sharing
Excellent video Dave! Just the perfect thing to help take your mind off all the things going on in the world. Hope you and your family are staying well.
It's great to see such a lovely setting Dave. I am under forced quarantine in a hotel in Sydney at the moment after returning home to New South Wales after a contract in Colorado, USA. I was hoping that this would be the year to make my way over to share in the fantastic shooting that you have been showcasing. Unfortunately I will have to plan for another year but tomorrow will be but one day closer to that trip. Thank you for sharing such an inspiring shoot.
Another outstanding video Dave highlighting some excellent shooting and again highlighting ethical land use and employment in the rural community. All the best from Scotland. Garry
Greetings once again from the States! Thank you Dave for another wonderful video. Fantastic shooting and even better panorama. We just found out our spring turkey hunt has been cancelled, so your videos are a much needed diversion during these trying times. I hope you were able to escape and ride out the lock down somewhere in the countryside. Best wishes to you, your family and all of Britain. God Bless and Godspeed.
Hello stranger !! hope you and your family are staying well and safe . Yet again a stunning video from you and your team . Can’t wait to get out there and get some Pen maintenance done with the boys . What a stunning back drop !! Stay safe . Regards Darell 👌👍
Cracking Dave, cheered me up no end 👍 we all have a duty to help shoots were we can at this time our little roving syndicate have booked a few little days for the coming season with the understanding that the deposit will rollover to the following year if heaven forbid this year is a no-go. 🤞
very true Mr Carrie, your film’s are doing a great job in reminding us of what we have out in our wonderful countryside, and I thank you for all your doing, United we stand, keep safe and god bless
Fabulous dave yet again mate. Could we maybe see a best of the year? With everything that is fantastic about our sport. Just an idea. Hope you and your love ones are safe and well. All the best for the summer. Jonny.
Greetings from America. I just wanted to say I love your videos. I watch them all through the year and I'm champing at the bit by the time fall comes around. When this years' films came out I wondered where you went. There was a thinner man with a beard that had taken your place. Then I heard your voice and felt like an idiot when I realized it was you. Congratulations on taking care of your health.
Thanks Levi and i am pleased you enjoy the films, as you rightly observed "ive lost weight" all for the good tho and i am gradually getting some form back😉
Great video Dave, something I shall watch several time, it is going to be a lean year down here in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire with many shoots being cancel this year. Please take care of yourself through theses difficult times.
Good day msiter Carrie. I'm a 28 years old fan of all your work from Montréal, Qc here. I have been binge watching pretty much all your videos in past couple days and they are a huge relief during this period of isolation. It's one one my dream to make a hunting trip to the UK to one of these locations. Do you have any recommendations for an novice entry level shoot estate ? Again thank you for all your work and I hope to meet you on the drive some day.
Hi Etienne the best way to source good value for money shooting is on the gunsonpegs website and look at the comments for each shoot, there is a vast array of shoots with prices ranging from £350 to several thousand pounds. Good Luck👍
Hi Dave, always love your videos, the interaction with other guns and beaters etc give an insight into game days that people starting out wont have knowledge of. superb! Keep up the good work! As an aside I have just had to start to wear glasses and my shooting has suffered with me switching between shooting with them and shooting without! can I ask do you wear specialist shooting frames?
Hi Ryan i just wear reactor lenses, but sometimes these can catch you out on grouse moors as light goes in to dark and the specs do not alter fast enough, then seeing the grouse can be very difficult.
@@DaveCarrieShooting many thanks for taking the time to respond Dave and many thanks for putting the videos together they are by far and away the best game shooting videos on RUclips! I need to persevere with my glasses by the sounds of it and will put in plenty of time on the clays with them on to build my confidence. Regards Ryan
Hola amigo... Proper English gentlemen 👍 come on Dave stop this silly lead ban we know you can with your followers and your contacts ..we would all be behind 110 percent
science is the only thing that could stop it now i.e. a real debate involving the countries with a ban already in place and countries facing a ban, the actual conclusions on the toxicity of lead shot only!! not petrol not paint or any other lead maligned substance!! just lead shot
@@DaveCarrieShooting Dave, I'm sorry, I love my shooting just as much as you (I'm 74 we met at Game Fair with Rob Fenwick)), but times have changed and whether we like it or not the media and social media will make sure we will not be allowed lead cartridges. It is imperative everything we shoot gets in the food chain and unless we use alternatives to lead that will not happen, I owned a food business and supermarkets will not budge on this so we have to change. Love your videos and you and I have everything in common but there needs to be alternatives. All the best and stay safe!!
Stay safe Dave to you and yours. Some top cohesion there by gun and cameraman.Looked like swing through with a fair helping of gun speed. Would that be a fair assessment.
@@DaveCarrieShooting Line goes without saying Dave just interested in the basic method on some of those shots.Good shootable pheasant shots well captured on camera.
Hey Dave, great film. Can I assume you were using heavy loads and if so do you find that the tight chokes affect the pattern negatively with those loads?
Except at 5 minutes 40 seconds where they are transparent and then turn yellow at 8 minutes 20 seconds! Chameleon brand? But I have to take my hat off to your marksmanship.

I use 34 to 40 grm 4s and 3s, through 3/4 or full choke and do not notice any detriment in the pattern or kills👍
I'd like to go out pheasant shooting then come home and have a nice cup of tea.
