Amazing to see the difference in culture and etiquette from other countries when it comes to hunting. Amazing video, it’s something that should be showcased more. I think we can all learn from how others do the same activity, variety is the spice of life after all. Cracking film, just makes me excited for the season!
Very interesting to see as a USA duck hunter. Entirely different thing, they only similarity being the non toxic ammo, shooting ducks and riding around on small wobbly boat!
As an American it’s just a very different mindset and level that is more professional and proper while American hunting is more of a survival type hunting
@@roccobancake665yeah this has a “high society” vibe. As opposed to us laying down in ground blinds in small ponds stringed across a flat high plains. Lol. This looks fun as hell though!
@@Desertpunk1986no surprises Germans are the most intelligent especially the leaders in automobile industry! Tractor industry, gun industry and dogs most importantly, German shepherds! They’re just the best
I absolutely love this video. Fantastic shooting, but fantastic production as well. I had the privilege shooting wild ducks on a private estancia in Argentina, and this was very similar. Exceedingly rare.
I go goose hunting on a little island once in a while and we take a boat as well. I made it a habit of vac sealing my ammo in 5 round increments or taking a drybag with me.
Now that looks like a whole barrel of fun !! I’ve been duck Shooting twice now it’s an epic day out with the guys !! Great film as always, Sasha 👍 of course the best commentary and host out there in are fantastic sport Nice one TGS 👍
Fantastic video, as always. Dogs working waterfowl, I could watch this all day. Reminds me that I still have some footage from last year's hunts with my Drahthaar that I need to edit for my little hunting channel here on youtube.
Hi Jonny great video. That is what the shooting sports are about. Enjoying the day with good friends and meeting new people while getting to enjoy nature
Great vid chaps, enjoyed watching that, and seeing how other countries shoot duck and etiquette, I've only shoot game in the UK- may have to explore!!!
Good morning! It’s a better Sunday morning now! Love the duck hunting but working with the Germans for many years one could understand the dichotomy of hunting etiquette! Who cares it’s duck hunting and love it!
Cracking day out by the looks of things. I miss Germany quite a lot. I spent some six years or so out here and till have flavour for German food and still speak some, but that was thirty odd years ago...
Love it as a an American. Hunters are hunters no matter where you go in the world. Question, what size choke you gents using? Some crack shooting going on! Guessing full chokes at that distance.
It’s just clicked in my head this was filmed last year before your driven day at Gynsaney and just today I was thinking about this years gathering Dan has planned.
You and Solomon come to America and see how we duck hunt. This was a good episode in German culture of ducks. I recommend a 70mm shell with #2 pellets. Half choke. Think you will love it. Hope to see you in an American place duck hunting soon.
reminds me of a time i was on a little john boat with two other men two dead deer and our tree stands it was literally riding two inches out of the water cold in November and a long way to swim if we sank lol
Usually quail and rabbit can be taken here in Kentucky at the same time. I have seen a breakdown once that didn't allow it. And there's some wma that won't allow it, wildlife Management areas. But for the most part yeah. Pretty common
That depends heavily on the territory. For example in my territory (mostly field, few small lakes) we use decoy hunting for geese mostly and all the ducks are shot during the yearly driven hunt.
Based on watching other hunters on U.S. public land it seems that the 12 bore 3.5" 1 3/8 oz BB load moving 1700 FPS may be the ticket for those cormorants. Is there a Kreighoff that will handle those? 😅
As French I have to write that I am very prejudice with any German even after 80 years (as to do with the treatment of one of my uncle as prisonner of war!) but I can only admit you made me wonder how can they train do well anyking of dogs (German or English breeds, not the French, go figure!) and ORGANISE! What a Great vidéo and nice to see all your crew, what a delight to see you shoot with Monsieur Solomon ! Thanks for sharing all these Moments Again with US ! May Saint Hubert bless you all during the next shooting and game Seasons !
And I have also to admit that they know how to build any kind of weaponry etheir for Warfare or shooting (rifles or shotguns like the one of Monsieur Solomon !) I regret to have to sell the Merkel combination drilling SxS 20 ga 3"X 7,65R
Of my Father before I retired to North Carolina, I was fearing Big complications for supply of rifle Caliber rounds since I don't reload.... It was the old model before the fall of the Berlin Wall, still East Germany... Now they are overprived but still Universal !
Your videos are the best in RUclips!! Im enjoying watching hunting with k80 or zolis or perazzis!! But where is this? Im looking for farms for wood pigeon hunting in UK…Does anyone know something?
Is most duck hunting in Europe done this way? I'm assuming these are game farm ducks being released or driven for the shooters. In the states at least where I hunt its all about setting a spread of decoys brushing yourself into a blind or tule patch and calling them into the decoys for a good clean shot. Is that done in Europe as well or are the drives like this the only way to hunt?
Plenty of wild duck Opportunities out there across Europe. These are release ducks, but unlike many shoots in the USA they are released 3 months before the season begins and no more will Be released thereafter. This results in a much wilder bird
Released birds arent that common, as soon corn is Cut, skies will be full of geese and mallards can be found at any puddle. I wouldnt spend any shells on released birds...Just my two eurocents. All the best from northern krautland.
I have a question for you. I live in the United States. How often do you use pointers or setters on hunts? It seems you guys do mostly drive hunts in Europe.
Dogs belong to our Hunting Culture like our Rifles, we use many different Dogs for Waterwork often German Wirehaired, Labrador, Retriever... for Driven Hunts on Wildboar smaller Sized Dogs are prefered like German Hunting Terries, Alpine Dachsbracke .... for the Red Work after a Shot there are 3 Specialists very Popular Bavarian Mountain Hound, Hanoverian Mountain Hound and the Alpine Dachsbracke In Germany for example every Hunting District (most are around 600-700ha / 1500acres 3-4 Hunters are normal per district) has to have a fully trained Dog (yes they not only must be trained they have to do some tests like Waterwork, search and bring a dead Rabbit, a blood Trail that is 12 hours old ....) for themselves or on Hand in the near neighborhood without that you dont have the permission to hunt. German Hunting Terries are very good Allrounders when you train them properly also Alpine Dachsbracke but they are not so good for Water but they are very good for Driven Hunts on Wildboar, Red Deer, Roe ...
If you want2 see some amazing ducks without the need of a passport, you need2 check out East Yorkshire Wing shooters!!.... its a cracking shoot family run!!! You'd be made2 feel right at home!!
I'm assuming the other hunters were German, is this correct? Just curious what those folks wear hunting. It looks more along the lines of what we hunt with here in the U.S., except no orange.
This was a VERY exclusive hunt. I´d guess, it was a international hunting party, but even if not, these were all some kind of special guests and NOT the typical German hunter! Normal duck hunting in Germany is very different.
You unexperienced some crazy waterfall hunting. You should come to the US where all the ducks are wild for the waterfall hunting and they fly crazy and isn’t just straight across shots where you have them flying right across. You have some coming in land. You have some coming up. 13:52
"we had to fill out a spreadsheet between drives" 😂. Doesn't get more German than that.

The fact that cormorant are on the kill list……as a fisherman from the USA, I’m jealous!

Thanks for letting us live vicariously through your adventures. Great video once again. And JC nice double at the end.

Great video.
God Bless you.
The two Ronnies comes to mind 😂 x
To me, duck hunting is setting out the decoys, calling them in, perfect cammo and success!
these are mostly likely pen raised ducks that are released specifically for the hunt. Hence the lack of camo, decoys, etc
They be tasty lol
That depends heavily on the territory. For example in my territory (mostly field, few small lakes) we use decoy hunting for geese mostly and all the ducks are shot during the yearly driven hunt.
Yeah we have to work pretty hard to get them here in Colorado. Dusky Grouse is fun to hunt also!
