Hello There Dave this Brings back memories watching this , me and my dad keepered Aitkengall and Dunglass estate many moons ago and reared all our own pheasants and partridges from day old chicks , nice to see it’s doing well and thank you for the video. The field you’re standing in on the second drive is exactly where we had our setup for rearing and was alway a very high drive with very sporting birds .
So glad I found this great channel. I’m enjoying binge watching the videos of some great shoots 🙂
Dave, your a blessinng to the field sports & country life !!! A true ambassador for us all ! Please keep it up for us all ! You are a true Gent !!! Thankyou so much 👍👍👍👍
thanks Chris - i will do my best
great work Dave love to watch these videos whilst I am sunning it in Cancun
At 74 myself, I need you at 100% to give me some hope for 2023. Just back from a couple of weeks in England and missed being able to get together with you. Great time. London at Christmas is very special.
I’m nearly on all cylinders now John- let’s have a plan for next year - a couple of days on the partridge or pheasant at a proper castle like Belvoir in so many of my films! Make some proper memories for ever👍
Glad to hear you are making progress with your recovery. I appreciate that you encourage all the youth at these events. Thank you for sharing this nice shoot with us. Cheers and have a Happy Christmas.
thanks Kelly - your comments are always appreciated
Thanks Dave, great to see another video from you of our traditional country shooting pursuits, those birds were high and fast, makes a good test of man and shotgun. 👍🇬🇧
very testing on that wind
Always great to see another one of your videos Dave, thanks for this one. Those partridges were certainly up there and moving right along in that wind. We surely know it is tough shooting with any knee issue, and I hope that your rehab is coming along well and the you regain all your strength back. With all best wishes of the Christmas Season to you and yours, Ed.
Thanks Ed, replacement knee is a painful experience but the back pain that as followed as been excruciating!! it will subside eventually as my gait rectifies its self and the muscles down the spine start working properly, hey ho!! must carry on regardless😂😂
Always a pleasure watching someone excel at their chosen sport. 👍
thanks Pal - i try my best
Great as always!!!
Nice to see Wood pigeon on the menu it is so underrated by people its one of my favourite meats to eat.
i agree a fantastic source of protein
Excellent Dave 👌
Great video again Mr. Carrie! Beautiful location, nice birds and great shooting. I hope you will recover as soon as possible and therefore I wish you all the best for that. As always all the best from 🇦🇹 and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

As always we are waiting patiently for your next tutorial and a splendid one at that. Can't wait to see you shooting in the country side in snow makes such a epic shoot. Your friend from the other side of the pond on the eastern shore Maryland.

Great to see you back out & about Dave you codger. Look after yourself. Happy Christmas to you & family. It would be great to get you back to Ireland for some shooting. I know there's a great selection in the UK to choose from. Great work from gamekeepers, beaters, collectors, dogs and the enthusiasts.
Thanks! I did enjoy Ireland it is still an untapped resource in the game shooting world 👍
Great film dave and good shooting.doing anything when suffering in pain is hard it breaks the concentration. Shooting can give you that much needed focus to overcome pain for a short while.keep kit up
cheers Robin
Nice to see these places shooting when this is so close to me, one of the reasons i watched this video.
Had nice drive through there to the wind farm when i was delivering concrete last year
Thanks - some Bonny spots round the borders 👍
Another brilliant film Mr C & a very merry Christmas to you and yours 💥💥 🎄
thanks and same to you and yours
Aitkengall always had great potential for big partridge drives .
Love shooting I think my powering pump is out of order. Age sure changes the game but it doesn’t cost a dime to watch. Merry Christmas Dave.🇺🇸🎅🏻
Nice one Dave, everything one could wish for on a day out, fabulous to see the borders working, only in Scotland 🏴 hay.
Thanks Mark
Great surprise dropping on these collies a pleasure watching them go to work!! Also a great little borders shoot👍
Such an important point about eating game, it is delicious. On the last shoot I was on , at the end of the day the keeper asked if I wanted some game, I was last but I took the half dozen pheasants they had left; all good meat and they will be eaten throughout the year. We have to do our bit to promote game and educate people because we can't really rely on others to help us.
I hope you are recovering well Dave, take care.
Good eating and very nutritious
Shot there at the start of November, great shoot. Up and coming!!
its a nice shoot with good birds for everyone
Hello Dave, some very nice shooting with the new guns.

What a wonderful thing to see border collies out picking up that’s s first for me super intelligent dogs always wondered why they are not used
it was great to see them👌👌
Job well done!!!!
thanks
Good to see different dogs on a shoot, I have often thought working collies would be good dogs for picking up as they are fast and have great stamina. 👍 Good in a beat line as well I bet.
great to see them in the field
Great video as always Dave hope your on the mend and family are well . Wondered where your been all the best .👌👏
thanks Darell - hope you and family are all ok.
Great video. Get well soon! What is the make of the shooting jacket you were wearing? And what Miroku’s do you normally shoot?
Thanks - guns are the new miroku MK Game - jacket is a freebie from Gamebore 👌

👌👌👌👌👌👌
Hi Dave, are you going to do a film on the gamebore 35 grn hp steel? I would like to see how it fairs in the high birds? I am trying it on Wednesday at Andys
done some filming on the 32 grm 3s - 35 grm next outing
@@DaveCarrieShooting I am going to try the 35grm 2’s (only because I couldn’t get 3’s) at Andys on Wednesday.I will use my usual pigeon extreme 34 5’s also and see how they go, there’s a lot of development still to come up with a alternative in my opinion so we can get the same preformance 👍
@@delhogg5380 shot some good duck with the 35grm 2s - let me know how you go on with them on the pheasants
@@DaveCarrieShooting I definitely will Dave 👍
@@DaveCarrieShooting
Hi Dave sorry for the late reply ( It was a hectic Xmas and new year shooting ect ) I tried the 3” 35 grm no-2 gamebore steel on a day and I was quite impressed to be honest! I would of liked to try the 3’s instead but I shot some nice stuff with them and didn’t really see any difference between them and lead apart from the fact I thought they were faster or felt faster than my usual cartridges,But once I figured them out and slowed myself down a bit they were producing some nice clean shots. If this is the start of the production I have no worries going forward on using steel for high Dumfries and Galloway pheasants at all. Many thanks del
Another cracking film.stick with your 30" barrels mate
thanks buddy
If you need to use goose loads on pheasant they're out of range! I don't deny he's a good shot, I just don't think it presents well to the public.
the public are not interested in what we are shooting at them (they do not want you to kill anything) and i do not think a 40gm 3 or 4 is a goose load!! Its a very sensible killing load (too much pricking with lighter loads such as 5s and 6s) for these type of ranges i.e. 55yd to 65yd. Thanks for your comments a debate is better than an argument👍👍
Hey Dave, how are you feeling?
ok thanks - new knee op - pain ok -but severe back pain at the moment! surgeon says new alignment of spine can cause this but should go away over time. Me thinks Getting too long in the tooth!! 😂😂👌
Would of enjoyed seeing the collies picking up
they were great
🇪🇨🇪🇨👍
